I can't comprehend how you always manage to put out just the class I need at the right time. I finally got two blocks for Christmas (woop!), and while I've been chillin' out in different poses on the living room floor, enjoying their benefits, I haven't taken the time to do a full routine in a little while. Really challenging but brilliant! I have been practising now for nearly 8 years but I would not still call myself advanced! I still struggle with side planks and I still can not lift myself up on my hands but I keep trying and hoping!
Try to do a little bit of lifting if possible starting with light weights/ no weights making ur way to heavier ones :) u need stronger muscles if u struggling w those poses n yoga isn’t focused on giving u that
Try doing push ups against a chest high window sill, keeping core strong and your body in one straight line from heel to head. Start by being only a short distance away from the sill and gradually increase the distance. Also start with a few reps only & gradually increase. Keep hands shoulder width apart or I like to widen them to use different muscles. Until I hurt my rotator cuff muscle I was able to do over 20 full push ups on the floor, but had to put those on hold as shoulder taking ages to heal. Doing tricep dips with hands on a bedside table standing with your back to it and bent knees feet on floor (progress to one foot only on the floor!) dipping until arms are at a 90° angle also helps to strengthen upper arms. Yes lifting weights is good training too - good luck! Do you do side planks on forearms? That is easier to start with.
P.S. I am almost 72 and been doing yoga on & off for many years but only fairly recently got back into it daily thanks to being recommended Kassandra by a osteopath 😊👍🙏 she is so inspiring and just love her classes😍
Being 70 doesn't help! Lol!! But it's hip flexor strength as much as core and arm - keeping legs out straight while trying to lift off the floor is tough and often gives me cramping. But hey, how many 70 year olds do you know who can do full boat pose???
This was great. I love practicing with you! I feel like your newer videos don’t use as much music which I prefer. I also liked how you stayed with us for shavasana (sp? 🤣) It’s hard to stay in this wonderful last pose when the video ends and the commercials come on! Thank you for all you do, Kassandra! ❤️

Autopilot is the exact word! I have been on autopilot with my yoga the last 6 months to a year. Just going through the motions, not really remembering the fire for it and not getting creative. This was such a good way to remember to shake it up and get back to poses that are not in your daily routine often and have fun. Thanks for all your content. Also- I got your book for Xmas and it’s AMAZING!!!! ❤

Thank you for so much more space and the opportunity to see yoga in a different way - and also myself while practicing. Each day i meet you on my mat, you really pur out, what‘s needed. And it seems like everyone else is thinking so too. Thank you also for the last five years, any time at your lessons, i‘m able to grow more and more. It can‘t be compared to anything i know ❤❤

Very refreshing to have the hot and cold within a yin based practice. While I am appreciative and thoroughly enjoy your relaxing sessions, this was a much needed change to help get back to the beginners mind, that little bit of struggle was just what I needed.

Me too....but how far we've come is really the important thing - and that we can honour ourselves for persevering!
