- A wedding at last and van tour! A small hop back in time for this video where I'm sharing the excitement, anxiety and nerves before my daughter's wedding and then the big day! After the wedding, James and I went away in our van for the first time and had some healing days away in nature to come back down to earth. Although, I haven't yet, to be honest! Perfect days in amongst these crazy times... Self-care to the max! We give a tour of the van and explain some mods we already wish to make to our tiny conversion. Just the other day I was trying to explain to my husband the feelings I have when I think of leaving this house and going out. This morning we were watching your latest video together when you mentioned the anxiety you feel when you try to go and do the things that used to feel so easy and normal to do. I looked at my husband and said, "that, that is how I feel exactly!" Thank you for that moment; it made me feel less odd. You often mention that your studio is your "happy place." My home has become my "happy place"; a place where I can feel safe in this at times very unsafe world.
Also I just want to add that I too really appreciate seeing footage of your green places; your lovely gardens and wooded areas. I grew up in an area that had those, and now that I live in a desert location, I realize much to my disappointment, that I miss them. So thanks for that as well! You live in a very beautiful area. Lucky Girl!
PS: My husband thinks you're a little Faery Child, which I think is quite beautiful.

I was always nervous to walk in the woods by myself, one time my young son and I crossed paths with a mama bear and her two cubs! Otherwise, scary news stories get caught in my mind. It's just hard to trust that it can just be a peaceful walk full of beauty and nature. So thank you for letting me tag along with you.

When I heard the music in the woods I thought you were going to tiptoe out with your finger on your lips going “shhhh, shhhh, it’s oh so quiet shh, shhh, it’s oh so still, you’re all alone, and so peaceful until.... and then go into the whole Bjork thing with the screams and everything lol. I just had an overwhelming urge to revisit Bjork , I’m back now!
Also, I totally agree with your comments (while on your nature walk) about feeling a bit out of place and that just walking & seeing trees & grass, corn & cows, is an amazing feeling after being quarantined/locked down for so long. You are speaking for probably millions of people who are feeling the same. We were not meant to be alone/loners. We were meant to have contact with others, in person. I’m also appreciative of you mentioning mental health topics and online therapy. I believe the latter has probably saved lives. Continue telling us about your amazing journey!!! I look to you for inspiration as I am a closeted artist 😁🙄 and am going back to it, working to push it to full time. I was a full time nurse for 24 years, but had to take early retirement at 62 (2 years ago) due to injuries. Better now everyday. Watching you has helped me ever so much. In Western Australia we are pretty much segregated from the rest of Australia as our border is closed because they have Covid and we dont. But I know how you feel because when we hear that people are heading to our town down south from Perth areas (our capital) I become a little anxious and in crowds eg our medical centre I wear my mask because of prior health issues. And I have no inclination to head anywhere there are crowds. Wendy (or should I say James) the wedding photos were lovely - especially the flower ring/wreath on the door mat, I would have loved to see a photo of the two of you dressed up. I had to have a little giggle of James looking for a serious shirt to go with his suit 🤭..I thought you might both goes as who you are..a couple of naturally beautiful flower people/hippies. Your daughter looked gorgeous btw. Loved the sneakers. Your van is coming along really well. Although your gas stove 'IN' the van is super scarey!!!!
Wendy listening to you talk on that video was lovely. Your spirits were high (understandably) you really do need to get away from everyone and everything and have a good break...and leave the camera at home. If people cant understand you need quality downtime they are not worth knowing. If you lost a couple of fans does it really matter in the scheme of things. We do not need to share every minute of every day..seriously!!! You are so much ⚘💜🥰more important.

Oh my goodness! I’ve just discovered your beautiful channel recently and been binge watching your videos this past week or so. I really feel a kindred spirit in you and have been asking myself how there could be someone else on, not just this this earth, but seeming fairly local to where I live, who has such a similar outlook on life, thought process and personal interests as me and then I come to discover your daughter shares my name! Life has a way of making us feel connected to the whole even those of us who prefer to be less social. Nature is very humbling. ❤
Love your tour, I did the van life when we were raising the kids, it was great. Now that I'm nearing retirement I'm looking at tiny houses, but boy a van would be great, so liberating-I could visit parks again! And what a great way to express artistic talents than to decorate the inside of the van! I did live out of my last van for about a month while waiting for a rental unit after my move. It was fall, the weather was optimal, not too hot not too cold. Waking up in a park was the best!
Thank you for the walking tour of that fantastic ridge with the awesome view. Was a great little"outing" during these gloomy winter days, can't wait to get back outside and along forest trails again! Happy trails to you!

I can really relate to the coming out of lock down anxiety Wendy. We have been in level 4 these last 3 weeks and I havent gone out at all. On Thursday we go into level and I am dreading having to wear a mask as I get flash backs from having my mouth and nose covered. I have managed to avoid the issue so far but now mask wearing is becoming mandatory in a lot of situations I might have to apply for an exemption. I love your van and am so happy you got to your daughter's wedding at last. Keep happy and lots of love from Aotearoa. Xxx
When you spoke about the anxiety it resonated so much. I was never anxious or suffered from panic attacks ever before lockdown. Now I look for excuses not to do something as I fear having another panic attack. Thank you for making me realise that it’s not just me feeling these things.

I'd seen a previous tour some months ago, but it's really coming along now. My fave parts are the two burner stove suitcase, LED light string roll, captain's chair mod, decoupage on the ceiling, the tray, the easy way to hang everything needful, the name (Sandy) and backstory, and you and James actually doing a vlog together, hearing the wedding-high love in your voices, seeing the same in your faces. Wish we could all look and feel that high on love everyday. Lovely ramble in nature, too, btw. Now you've got my wheels turning, thinking how I'm going to mod my truck when it's back online. The van is looking so good - it's definitely the right idea to get swivel front seats - we've always done that for our vans and instantly makes the space bigger and more usable.
Ps. I don't suppose you'd share exactly where those beautiful woods are would you? I'm not far from you but it's all farmland just here and sometimes I really need to feel that nature connection that's magical amongst old trees.

I live in Yorkshire and i am a qualified art tutor but had to give up that dream after becoming disabled and life got complicated but u have inspired me to follow my dreams and create lots of art and crafts i might even teach online who knows lol.
