Oh how lovely to see you 2 in your new home!!! I know how good it feels to make it feel like your own with furniture, books you love, candles, drinking your tea from a favorite mug and having your own bed in order, making it a cosy place. Enjoy your little oasis,so happy for you!!! Warm hugs from Sweden
I’m so happy for you and James! It’s going to be so cozy and peaceful! Was anxiously waiting to see the progress! The cottage is looking amazing! ❤ 🪴 ⭐️ 🌙 Thanks for the lovely video!
You know what they say about everything happens for a reason. I had met a fork in the road about twelve years ago. Long story short, I now live in a beautiful new area with everything I could ever want. Your new place looks so nice with all the work you both have put into it. And you still have your studio where you can separate home with your work space. Enjoy every moment making it your home.❤️
My heart is singing a song of happiness for you. I think this home is a very good one for you. All the hard work of cleaning packing and redecorating is exhausting but very satisfying too. I spent a year living with various friends while I was having my home built. That was 23 years ago and I am still here, happy and content. When I first settled in to this home I was stiill working full time. I had a 15 year mortgage which I paid off in 10 years by living on the smell of an oily rag. Now into 10 years of retirement I am so grateful to my younger self for slogging to provide me with my haven. Enjoy your new home and all the changes and opportunities that come with it. Lots of love to you both, arohanui from me in Aotearoa New Zealand. ❤❤❤
The succulent you asked about, we always call a donkey’s tail. And if they can’t replace the carpets right away, layering area rugs over them is a great look. Congrats on the new home.
I am so happy for you and James! This is a great “in-between” landing spot and I just feel like you will be able to rest and nest here and be even more open to what other good the universe sends your way. ❤️
I lived in an apt in Manhattan,NYC and bought my first in-between home on Cape Cape in MA before retirement. I moved there 3yrs later and knew then, it was not my forever home. Seven yrs later, I hired the listing agent for the original home to be my new real estate agent. She was the one who found me my forever home. Had I not bought the first home and met her, I would not be living where I am! So hang in Wendy and continue to trust the universe. Sorry about the rug guy going out of business, but I would still hold your landlord to his original agreement to get you new rugs. You and James have already put a lot of your own money and time that he will eventually benefit from when you move. There is a time and place to be generous and I honestly don't think this is one of them especially since the unpleasant smell is not completely gone.
Hi there guys....just a tip for the fridge. If it's still smells...before you plug it into the mains, put some un-used tea bags in about one on each shelf and keep the doors shut....this should get rid of any lingering smelly odours.
We who have followed you on this particular journey have always believed you would find the best path towards a forever home! Thank you for sharing your story! Blessed new place and holidays!
Phew, its been a journey but at last you seem happy again and lovely to have your outdoor space must feel amazing just hanging out the washing hope you both happy days in your new abode❤
Awe Wendy, I'm so excited for you both. And I can't wait to see you settled. Thanks for taking us along. Please tell James hello. Sending love and big hugs Sherry ❤ 😘😘
Firstly...so happy you finally found your new home! I can't help it to be thoroughly disgusted though at the B.S. that renters have to go through these days! Landlords that take advantage of others because the housing market is so bad! It's deplirable😢 The landlord should be giving you one month free rent for all the upgrades you have just made on his house! Please tell me he at least paid for the paint, and any supplies, and the rugs to be cleaned😳. Sorry...I just hate seeing good people being taken advantage of😢 Happy moving in! Take care now! ❤❤❤
Landlords have been getting away with all sorts over the past few years of low supply - high demand. It is thoroughly dispiriting for renters, having to learn and use bargaining tools to try and secure a tenancy, the competition is so fierce. I have had to move twice since April 2021. I lost count of the amount of properties I viewed on both occasions. The only reason that I snared this current rental (nine interested viewers) was that I offered six months rent upfront and said I could move fast, within two weeks. I have always left rentals in a better state (cleaner) than I found them, and have new rentals in a far better state within two weeks of moving in. Rental rant over.
Congrats! Wendy, I binged through a lot of your videos recently, and you've inspired me to make my own sketchbook out of the scraps of paper lying around my home. I really love it so far and it has encouraged me to draw more in my sketchbook stress free. Your hand-made journals are fantastic.
I am so happy that you are on this side of things. We are 'renters' as well. While it can be a little unsettling beause we are at the mercy of another landlord, we are fortunate in that ours has been a long-time family friend of my sweetie's family and this house belonged to his mom, who is now passed on. We were fortunate to stumble into it as our previous landlord pulled the rug out from us on a whim and decided to sell their place after only three years after they promised us at least five years there and we did a large amount of work on the place to make it a home. It left a very bitter taste. But this place is so much better and we feel secure here. The Universe did take care of us and it showed us that things do happen for a reason. Much love to you and James. I am tired just watching you both!
I like to call those "in between times" living in the liminal. Trusting the process. Looks absolutely lovely, sweet Wendy and James! Bright and happy blessings upon your new home! ✨🪄❤️ Edit: you've finished your video saying exactly that! 😘
So glad the move has happened and gone well. Having a garden, being able to hang out washing are definite pluses in a house, and it'll be quieter, more private than the flat. Btw, rain visits to bring clean energy, and good luck on days of important events, such as a house move. It's an ancient south american indigenous belief! Mx
I saw you burning some incense, but please, please burn some sage as well. It will do wonderful things to cleanse the energy. It also helps if you do so while repeating a short prayer of your own design. Something to the fact of: "Let only energies of our highest good reside in this place. All others must now leave." I do this ever so often in our home and I've even had visitors comment about how wonderful our space "feels". Good luck it all really looks lovely.
I just wanted to add that if you do decide to use a prayer, let your tone be forceful. No need to shout, just sound like you mean business and you're not to be messed with.
This is a lovely house. Take care of yourselves while doing all this work in making a house into your home. I too wish you could have purchased a home but in this day and age this is a wonderful choice.
Yes Wendy. I know exactly what you mean. I had a terrible start to the year. Injury, lost job, no money. I’m 53,, and for the first time in my life just couldn’t find appropriate employment, had very low moments. I decided to leave it to the universe, chill, wait to be shown the way. It happened as soon as I handed it over, I’ve now got really good hours in an interesting tole, with a good work life balance. I’ve got time for Art, Allotment, family and checking in with a very inspiring lady. ❤❤❤
Oh I do hope you make it cozy and cluttered and old 'farmhouse' style like your apartment, with the plants and all the painting supplies ~ I would get rid of any carpet regardless of what the floor is underneath. Have fun decorating! Oh and remember that renting is so much easier than owning a home, where you have to fix and pay for anything that goes wrong -- not for me! Make it home and maybe you won't consider it an 'inbetween place' anymore
Gosh, you have both worked sooo hard packing, unpacking, cleaning - I am exhausted just watching you both. Kudos to you! So pleased for you that you feel at 'home' in your fresh new start and that everything didn't have to change all at once. Having some continuity with your studio has helped to keep you centered and grounded through all of the change. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. Blessings from Canada's west coast! 🌻🍁🍂🌻
Your new home looks so bright and clean, it is a lovely place, and the house will breathe with new life now that you are there! You both look so happy ❤😊. And you always have some special words of magic at the end part that just speak to my heart. Thank you!
Surely, when you pay rent for a space where your personal possessions are, you have the right to no one being there when you or a trusted person are not also present. Having had friends who rented out but seemed to be at the mercy of their tenants, I've seen both sides. It's that entity of respect. Happy new home wishes to you both😀
Life is about letting go. I’ve let go of babies to death, a husband of 34 years to death, a daughter to her anger and mental sorrow, and in my late sixties I’ve let go of youth and it’s dreams. The journey is the destination pretty well sums it up. You speak of the universe directing you, I believe that my Heavenly Father has a plan and if I stay United to Him in an intimate relationship, He (who sees the end from the beginning) has the best vantage point for my life. There will be those forks in the road you spoke of, and though they sometime surprise me, they never surprise Him. He has promised that is impossible for Him to lie or to change, so when life and it’s varying circumstances come my way, He is the steady rock I lean into. You and James are in my prayers. You are very precious people and your lives have blessed this old lady in so many ways. I have a very small channel here where I read bedtime stories to children. I don’t like watching myself either. I understand. Looking forward to you settling in and finding your new normal.
I'm so happy for you guys! Congrats on the new home journey. So hate moving and a house 🏠 isn't always a home it does affect your life where you live if it's inspiring or otherwise. Found last place couldn't seem to get inspired to create any art. Again just so happy for you! Very lovely to have one spot to call home with those you love.
You Guys are so sweet 👩❤👨 Just loving to see how You work out a beautiful Life together 🙏 All the Best and Much Love and Light Your Way from Denmark 🙏💖💫
I just moved also, from the Pacific NW forest to the Southwestern desert mesa area. A big switch. I am alone, but mu three kids helped me a lot, and I am still unpacking. I've got paint, books, and sewing things to put somewhere, but I'm still living out of suitcases, so all in good time. I also feel like this is my inbetween place, looking for something more suitable, and I may go in with some other women to get more for our dollar. Good luck. It's a lot of work, but a rewarding new start and new perspective on life.
First……artist to artist but I cannot stand “home painting:” I have zero patience. The carpet smell will get better with a sprinkle of baking soda does a pretty decent job. I’m sending you nothing but best wishes, love and positive vibes…….❤️ with love from Chicago Michelle.
Congratulations on your home. I got very anxious about the cottage in Wales. It didn't feel right. Glastonbury is where you're supposed to be for now xxxx
So happy for you and James Wendy. I knew it would all work out for you both in the end. You’ve both done such a great job on your new home looks so cozy 🥰🥰xx
I'm happy for you Wendy. We retired and put our house on the market and it sold in one day. We hadn't decided where we would go so in a hurry we bought a temporary house in a new town. We thought we'd just be here two years but it has been seven and we are happy here and decided to stay. You never know.
Your new home looks lovely. I just wanted to give a kind suggestion if it's at all helpful. I would recommend being very careful about bedbugs with any used items coming in. It seems like such a different world, even from 10 years ago, or so.
Don't bother buying any new ones. There's a company out there that will fit stuff over it and it looks like it's brand new cupboards. You go online to it. I don't know the name of it though
Despite the fact that it is a rental, you both look relieved and happy in the update and move in. Congratulations and best wishes as you settle in.❤ You both have worked really hard to get there and deserve a rest.😊
Here in the Netherlands, you have to put your own carpets on the floor in rental houses, they are completely empty when you get them, and you have to make them empty when you leave again!
It is so much less stressful when you can overlap your tenancies by a month at least. Almost worth the added cost. And you can move so many more things in your own vehicle, to reduce the moving expenses.
U went very fast over ur birthday plant but I think it is what we call in Germany a money tree. Superstition is that if u let it die u re penniless. Was horrified when I moved last year and ny one went awol.
What a journey! I’ve yearned and hoped and trusted and been sad and been happy and dreamed for you-and here you are! What a tribute to your and James’ perseverance, holding a vision and willingness to do what it takes. I hear you about slight disappointed that it’s another rental. What a sweet, beautiful place to live in while preparing yourselves for the home you’ll own. It’s good to make one kind of change at a time so you’re doing it perfectly! Is there by chance a puppy on the horizon? 🥰
I'm in a rented house too and it makes me uncomfortable that both the estate agent and the landlord has a spare key. I've made it clear to them no one can come inside the house unless I am present, however they could easily come in and snoop around when I am not in or steal something...
Your new place looks cozy. Your video about the cottage brought up one word for me...inconvenient. I kept thinking that life would be a lot of bother living out there. Enjoy your new place!!!
Love your home and videos as I am spending Christmas alone like I been 3 years now. So watching your videos I don’t feel so alone. Thankyou Wendy and James.❤️
Helpful tip for those with an iPhone: If you take a picture of a plant, animal, bird (maybe other stuff) and then look at it in Photos. The i (info) icon at the bottom of your screen will turn into a bird, dog, leaf, etc and if you click on that button, the app tries to identify what kind it is. Ex. I took a picture of the birds out back and looked at it in Photos. There was an icon at the bottom that had a bird in a circle and when I clicked on the icon, the app said they were American Crows. It does the same with plants, so hopefully you can identify what ever you have. Cheers! :)
Totally agree with you, you are where you are meant to be. My late mother believed that everything happens for a reason, be it something we want or even something we dont. I'm so pleased that you're happy in your new home xx
Hello from France !!! This video is so lovely ! I love seeing the two of you so happy in this new house! Thank you for sharing! I wish you the best for this new chapter of your life! ❤
Congratulations! I hope you’ll both be happy there until you find your forever home. You may want to look into this but I’m pretty sure that landlords (or agents) have to give 48hr notice to come around and they can’t enter unless you ok it (within a reasonable timeframe I guess) they also shouldn’t have keys. My housing association say they’re not allowed to keep keys and only we have them but I’m no expert just thought you should know so you can look into it.
I’m a Taurus moon myself so I can totally relate to what you mean. Your house is coming along quite nicely I’m very happy for both you and James. Many many blessings.
May I just say, watching you two is such a delight! I am so thrilled for you on how things came together . . . Looks really beautiful and I can tell it has great energy like you both! Much Love 💚
I am so happy for the two of you to be in your new home!! What a big help that James is; most men are not that helpful, patient, and kind during a move. You are so very lucky and blessed. I am looking forward to seeing more of your home decorating and finishing. Happy everything to you both!
There are always those setbacks and side roads, aren't there? I think it's how you get on with it and take it all in stride that matters. Take a step back (as you did) and a deep breath or a thousand lol, and forge on. It's a pretty little place and looks so cozy and you're with your love, who is really your "home". You're an old pro at this already, Wendy, you've got this! ❤
Dearest Wendy, congratulations on moving into your new home. You've already made your special marks on the place & it looks beautiful. Your story feels so familiar to me. We're living in an in between house (rental) with our ticket at the moment. I've struggled with feeling sad about us not owning somewhere yet & feeling like i can't fully lay down roots here because i know we'll be moving again at some point. But recently I've come to find peace with being here & now. Feeling grateful for this resting phase where the dust is settling & my partner & i are starting to see paths clearing for opportunities we wouldn't have considered if we'd have bought something straight away. The universe really listens & moves in mysterious magical ways in our favour. i believe that what we've asked for is coming. But we need to be patient & trust & learn to accept & adapt & be grateful so that we'll be fully ready for what we've asked for WHEN it comes. For now enjoy settling in & finding peace. Enjoy hanging your laundry outside ( i celebrate this every time i do it 😂) & the path to your own home that you own will become clear in time. Sending love & best wishes, Lucy xx
Wendy, I have to keep your optimistic outlook in mind for it's much needed. I lost my zip and have to find it very quickly. Ill keep watching and listening to you. You help tremendously. Thank you.
I am SO happy for you both! I know exactly what you mean about it feeling different now that it's "yours" (rental or not) I know you will nest and make it magical.
I love your journeys, thank you for taking us along… plus I adore Wendy waffles with all the butter, maple syrup, and whipped cream that we can slather on. All my best to you and James, can’t wait for what’s coming for you both!
Wendy, this video was full of fun and newsy tidbits that provided a great catch up on your journey. Your comments about “in between times & places” got me thinking that the home we were in before my current lovely nest. It was a home we built, and while perfect for a very specific age & stage, when we weren’t looking to make a change, I literally stumbled on our current abode. During your videos about getting this new place ready, I thought it was, as you confirmed, a rental…..perhaps down the road after you’ve been there awhile and know you LOVE it, the owner might be persuaded to sell? But don’t think about that for now, enjoy getting settled, working out the functional and decorative kinks (I think it takes up to a year in a new place to have things worked out and feeling “really” settled and at home!) James will be back soon, you’ll continue moving in and have your great studio as an anchor! (I wonder if you saw my comment in the “art show video about a minor modification at the studio? if not, msg me best way to repeat it for you.) It is the people and the living they do that makes a house a home. Blessings on your new home and all that will happen there. Warm hugs, W.
I'm a Taurus, too. Yes, Wendy, this is just a stepping stone in your journey. It's so funny, when I've moved in the past, a house plant is the first thing to be moved in. In my younger years I moved back to an apartment complex I just loved. The first thing I did was weed out the little flower bed in front of my window and fill it with flowers. I cherish that memory. Your studio is looking so lovely with all of the plants. Hugs to you. Enjoy this new season in your life.❤
I wish you the best in your current new home. Great videos. We moved two years ago so we understand completely what this is like. Maybe this could become a rent to own for you or a stepping stone as you mentioned to know more of what you truly want or need. You are such a nice couple. Congratulations! 🥰
Congratulations on your move Wendy and James . Wonderful improvements . It will be fun to see how it comes together decorating . Thank you for sharing. I love when you remind us to keep our light shining. You are a light in the world. Take care ❤
I have a Taurus Moon as well! Except mine is in the 8th house. That last shot of the moon is my happy place. :) And I really love watching the two of you making your new home beautiful. It's always a treat to see how happy you both are together and what is going on for you. 🙂
Oh how lovely to see you 2 in your new home!!! You are in a very privileged position..most are not.
Maybe this house will come available to be your Forever home…. You never know… happy dances for the two of you!
I watch most of your videos but don’t always comment. Good luck to you and James in your new home 🤗🙏😊🤓

you are spot on about having to have the in between places on our journey. Sometimes they dont feel comfortable, but they are necessary. congrats!
Surely, when you pay rent for a space where your personal possessions are, you have the right to no one being there when you or a trusted person are not also present.
Having had friends who rented out but seemed to be at the mercy of their tenants, I've seen both sides.

completely agree with you and yes, for both sides, just basic respect is all that's needed... xxx

Thank you so much - I needed to read this. ❤
All of your hard work has paid off! Your new home looks fabulous! Congrats and enjoy ❤
That is a drastic change. I’m still in the PNW but looking for my next place.
Your new home is so charming and feels like home to me too! So happy for you both. Thanks for sharing your journey.💜💛
Your new home looks lovely. I just wanted to give a kind suggestion if it's at all helpful. I would recommend being very careful about bedbugs with any used items coming in. It seems like such a different world, even from 10 years ago, or so.
I'm in an in-between place and know how you feel. It's been a rough ride the last couple of months
soft hugs for you Audrey, I feel you! xx
Be Happy in your new home, good luck in all you do 💕 x
Don't bother buying any new ones. There's a company out there that will fit stuff over it and it looks like it's brand new cupboards. You go online to it. I don't know the name of it though
thanks for the lovely videotour. I wish you to all the best. From volcano Iceland
Thank you for sharing, it will be lovely to see you nest and settle in for winter.
So glad for you both, enjoy that garden 🪴🌿🌼
If you want it too smell good you can add vanilla fragrance too your paint
You can place a concealed camera- they are so cheap now.
Your new place looks cozy. Your video about the cottage brought up one word for me...inconvenient. I kept thinking that life would be a lot of bother living out there.
Enjoy your new place!!!
Nice house . You are so lucky to have a clothes line . I miss hanging my clothes out.
Cheers! :)
So happy for you! It also gives me hope that very soon I too can find the place where I can let all my creativity flow! xoxo Simone
*the world has gone a bit bonkers*, lol, understatement. Let your light shine bright. GREAT WORDS. I always love your videos, so real and uplifting.
So pleased for you ! Know what you mean by in between places. Glad you didn’t leave your lovely studio.
Many many blessings.
yup! Taurus moon!!! xx and thankyou xxxx
I realize you call painting, decorating. 🙂
Thank you.
I hope things have improved.
So lovely to see you found a place! Love your vibe and your videos are a treat.
When a house becomes a home. 🏡 Congratulations!! ❤🎉💐
Weee you able to purchase the home or are you leasing it? So happy for you.
You two are the best, thinking of you from the Pacific Northwest, Whatcom County, Custer, Wa. USA.
kitchen color. I LOVE. AND NICE BIG WINDOW
congratulations. very deserving and appreciate you sharing. big love
So Cancer Sun, Taurus Moon Wendy? Whats your Ascendant/Rising Sign?
Your son is amazing and very helpful 💚
I saw my favorite juicer 😊 May love fill your new home ❤
hey hey Tanyy! love and light kitchen lady!!! loveee this juicer and got one because of youuuuu!!!! oh also, love you too!!! xxxx
Sedum morganianum, the donkey tail or burro's tail
They cannot enter without your permission, have to let you know as well in advance. Having rented for a number of years, this is law 🥰🥰🥰
Enjoy this new season in your life.❤
I gave my sister a lilac to plant outside the rooming house where she was living in Seattle. We pass by now years later and that plant is thriving.
I wish you the best in your current new home. Great videos. We moved two years ago so we understand completely what this is like. Maybe this could become a rent to own for you or a stepping stone as you mentioned to know more of what you truly want or need. You are such a nice couple. Congratulations! 🥰
Thank you so much! xxxxx
Congratulations on your move Wendy and James . Wonderful improvements . It will be fun to see how it comes together decorating . Thank you for sharing. I love when you remind us to keep our light shining. You are a light in the world. Take care ❤
Sending love Vibes Happy days in your new home.. ❤🫖🍵🍵💐

Congratulations to you and James in your new home Wendy darling I love your beautiful home sweet home 😊
I have a Taurus Moon as well! Except mine is in the 8th house. That last shot of the moon is my happy place. :) And I really love watching the two of you making your new home beautiful. It's always a treat to see how happy you both are together and what is going on for you. 🙂
