kinda want a van instead of my similarly sized london flat now
For me the deal breaker is electricity. Being that I'm a computer games development student I kind of need my computer. My uni basically has two rooms of computers that are good enough and have the software I need and while there's apparently supposed to be one room always free for students to work on in practice that's pretty much never the case.
Jack Evans you may want to concider using a solar system and a laptop. A 300 watt solar system cost's about 800€ including the batery, controllers and the panels and there are actually really good gaming laptops out there for 1000€. If a laptop i7 and a 1050Ti can fit yor needs.
its really nice and stuff but there is no toilet or shower.... .-.
We Film Things Not until you want people over, it would be awkward
We Film Things i never understood the point of a realy small house or apartment, i much rather have a campervan in that case you have a Toilet with shower, badroom, kitchen and the porch is the whole world...
This is an amazing little home! I wouldn't change a thing. Your mother's dresser is such a homey touch. I'm 50 years old and am planning to fix up a van to live and travel in and I hope I do as nice of a job as you have! Thanks for sharing!
Sandi - I'm so excited I could burst! Good for both of us! Where do you plan to go first?
Good for you! I bought a van a little over two years ago and have lived and traveled in it off and on. I will be doing some traveling out west this summer and also the fall. It would be cool to meet you and Tammie along the way at some point. Keep in touch.
Sandi - One thing I know for certain is I want to go to the RTR to at least check it out in January. My first destination will be Ehrenberg AZ. I just want to go be still in the beauty for some time. Then, the sky is the limit! I think I will probably be in a travel trailer in the beginning until I know just how I want to live and what I can and can't do without, then probably a van. I just don't think I want to get rid of my Jeep until I'm certain of everything I just mentioned. I will be traveling with my big black dog, possibly two. I recently rescued one from the street and can't seem to find a new human for him, so....... Who knows?
Dennis, I'm sure you have been loving life! Would love to make new friends along the way! Hope to see you out there!
What matter to 50 years old poeple?, I also to do a travel in my VW bus.
This girl is amazing. Just goes and grasps the life she wants no matter what. Meanwhile I'm 50% depressed 50% stressed and I'm either studying or sleeping
Thanks for the nice comment! All the best with your studying :)
beenbeen .001 RUclips
@@zsoltpapp3363 clearly the words of someone who has never travelled.
i read that as 50% dressed lmao
beenbeen I hope you’re doing better these days buddy:)
I think she might have also superglued the dog to the bed.
Hahaahaha!
He's so cute.
*goes straight to gum tree and searches for vans for sale*
Franziska Dodl i
Haha exactly
Best place is contact builders companies and ask if they're getting rid of any vans, Long Wheelbase vans can drive a higer price so look out for them at under the £5k mark.
Also, vans are commonly Diesel, don't be scared of 300,000 miles or more. A good full service, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, brake fluid, brake pads, timing chain/belt etc are all the best things to get done when you buy an old van. Total price of all that + labor would be about a grand for a Transit
Cheers Geoff
Hahaha
this is called dedication. education is worth sacrificing for.
Wouldn't agree on that. It depends on your major.
*Is it me or are my recommendation all about vans now after that girl who lives with a snake in a van*
lmao same
same lmao
I'll probably move in a van in the near future
Me
eeg joy what van you thinking of moving into?
YEAH SAME LMAO
This is living, not spending 40 hours a week in the office and another 20 on the commute !
that's why i spedn 40 hours in a storage house and 30 min on the bike
If everyone lived like this, who would pay council rates to provide the facilities that people living in vans use for free, such as public toilets?
Heidi it would need an overhall in the way they take care of finances but it would be possible....

Hannah, think about moving that fire extinguisher from above your stove. If you had a fire there (most likely place), the flames
might reach as high as the extinguisher and you'd get burned reaching for it, or be too afraid to reach for it, with terrible consequences. Best place to hang it: near the exit. This was an interesting video, well made.
Not to mention if a fire extinguisher gets over 120F it will blow up.
She also doesn't have a heat shield against all that wood.
lovefeist I
she's made the van totally beautiful, but it is so sad that this is what students have to resort to nowadays :( it makes me scared to be a uni student because I know that financial difficulties are going to hit me hard
tilda may my parents pay for everything lol
trust fund babies dont even know theyre born yet, life is gonna hit you hard when daddies cheques stop coming.
imho as a general rule for most degree, if in doubt; take a gap year or two and do something monetarily productive with it-perceive it as a break from 6 years of study. Oh yeah, and choose something of interest, not for the potential paycheck.
I'm in my second year and I'm perfectly fine. I work 24hr a week so I can pay for my car and other stuff without worries. Just Christmas time gets a bit tough with buying presents.
tilda may we live in such a privileged world but this should be the norm. she not living like an animal. 90% has worse living conditions than this
"I can't come in to work today, my house has a flat tire."
I love that know matter who you are or where you are, there will ALWAYS be a JUNK drawer 😂😂😂
Nope I don't have one. Everything has its place in my house.
@@KMF3 me too, after reading marie kondo's book i realised everything has to have a place for it to not be messy :)

Welsh Simon I bet she’s a wild 😜 one at parties 🎊
Quite a simple, optically rustic, bare bones practical, and inexpensive conversion that works well. It makes me think that a permanent bed that is higher up with minimal head room is better than a lower and fold-away bed that is complicated and wastes more space. I will use this for my own build..., thanks!
she's not "saving on rent" she was forced to adapt in a world where a student needs to live so basically that their transportation doubles as their living space
Also I would worry about the levels of security this young lady is exposed to living in a van! In Germany they get their education/tuition fees paid for.
Security probably isn't any worse than a female student living solo in a fixed abode. Often scheduling dictates they take they leave the same location at the same time, and walk the same route, creating openings for predators. I don't mean to exaggerate dangers, but being able to drive right up to where ever you're going eliminates a lot of that potential.
Also lets not be delusional the van doesn't exactly scream she's doing this out of pure necessity. As a college aged male, payments plus insurance on a new sprinter would be costlier than simply renting most of the time.
You could also take time off of college, get a job, save up money and then go to college. You dont have to go right after high school.
You really seem to forget living expenses, taxes, etc.
That is very true-- but the push to do so is strong. I felt extremely pressured to go to college/university straight out of high school. Maybe that says something about me, but it's my personal anecdote. I work and go to school and I am still coming out of undergrad with a nice chunk of debt. I'm not even done with my schooling yet-- I still have about 7 more years (including various things associated with my career choice). And I'll be ~30 when I'm finished and can actually *start* my career.
So while I technically could have waited before going to college, it didn't really feel as though it were a plausible option, in my case. Life is expensive and it is difficult to balance school and being a functional member of society no matter the age and I'm only speaking as someone who has yet to truly set foot in the "real world." The time, money, and reason I'm going to college is going to prevent/hinder me from accomplishing my other goals in life because there simply won't be time or effort that I can put aside for them until it's too late.
I'm probably just being pessimistic, but I'll find out in 7 more years. So, I'm sorry about the gibberish, but waiting isn't always an option.
This girl inspires me to get into vanlife, though I'm currently really young and don't even know how to drive , I want to explore to it's limitations, I want to start a family and explore the world. This is the biggest goal in my life now.
papi john aka penny good for you. What a great goal & comment :)
If you do go to the vanlife get a van that is bullet proof. A engine and transmission that can hold up to the load of being loaded up all the time. A rust free van not a spot of rust on it (one the frame too!) Care for the van what ever van you pick is going to be the foundation.
Do it!!! You will never regret it!!
Same
If you start a family don't have kids until you sell the Van. Most couples sell the van when 1st baby is born.
This is one of the first van videos that really inspired me to go after this life myself
her story is cool but HUGE thumbs up to whoever edited this video, it's simply amazing
thank you!
Dish drainer: Ikea has some ideas like hanging metal baskets or trays from a rod suspended over the sink. Hang it when you are doing the washing-up and store it after the dishes are dry. This worked well for us in our motorhome.
One of the coolest van conversions I've seen... love the country feel
Thanks!
Idk where all these van videos came from but I’m liking it
I love the slight blue and high contrast filter going on
Nice van btw, very organized.
It is amanzing how people don t really care about having toilet in the van , for me is first priority , I love my one.
each to their own ;)
The Indie Projects 100% agree . X
Going in nature is actually really nice & relaxing! Especially when you have a pretty/scenic view.
Especially when it's raining or freezing outside. Bet you have done it 3-4 times in nature.
sure, is even better when you have diarrhea 3 a clock in the morning, unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!
This is amazing. Never thought about the idea of life in the van.and I really like it.thank u for sharing
vialin same I want to buy a van now 🙂
Its not for everyone!!!
her dog is such a little angel, just a little angel sleeping peacefully while she talks ...
Clever girl. Rent is a bugger when you are a student (or any time)! Such a lovely van she's got herself there. Best of luck to you!
Naomi V when I was in college, I could barely afford a good bicycle. What did I miss?
That's one of the coziest van homes I've seen so far, there's so much character with the rustic wood and the tiny wood burner! #goals!
- Helen, The Penniless Writer. x
Thanks for checking it out :)
Beautiful van. Last year, my wife and I gave up on the rat race and now live in a caravan in North Wales.
I recommend anyone who is feeling stressed and unhappy to look for alternatives.

The Indie Projects you mentioned natural sciences but where did you study

Настоящая американская мечта жить с собакой в конуре что может быть лучше
It does seem like it would have a huge learning curve (about plumbing, heating, building) to convert the van. But imagine how empowering it could be.
These are the types of people i wanna vibe with
Same... but everyone I know seems to just want to do everything that is perfectly 'normal'...
She's so positive and grateful!!
Her speaking voice is like Leona Lewis's speaking voice, the accent and that slight "I am going to sneeze any second now" feel to it. Love the van.
Well put together, another excellent video. I have the same sink cooker combo in my van and I use the lid from a cheap plastic stacking box as a draining board. Just close the lid on the hob and place it on top and there you have it.
thanks Brian!
I like how she explains with detail unlike most people that do house tours and just explain so little and make it so basic
I love how you did the van. The deco is your organization. It's one of a kind. No one else can have it. Great job. Good going.
This seems like a really good, practical design. Also, the camera and sound are really well done for this.
i prefer living in a van rather than an ugly apartment with creepy neighbors
awaken moon Yer fk neighbours
Omg so true! Especially when you try to study and they are all so noisy!
awaken moon Jeffrey Dauhmer. I'm planning on living in a van as well because I don't want to pay so much rent and I plan on taking showers by stealing water from houses once everyone falls asleep and I'll place the water in a teapot and burn it for a few minutes then use it to shower
awaken moon can you use a full computer not some weak mac book?
awaken moon and noisy, inconsiderate, etc etc. They are the tenants in the block of units next to our house.
This is a great showcase, an inspirational one if I may say so. It is so relatable and practical. Everywhere in the world, students struggle with studies, working and paying rents. I hope others will find inspiration and motivation to continue studying and enjoy their youth (in positive manners). Really love this video and the girl (and her van family)!
Farhana Subandi so u will buy 50000£ vehicle nd then save 1000£ for an year even that will take some cost
her accent is everything
Love it! Thank you for sharing not only your build but your ideas, attitude and thoughts behind vanline. Making my switch over soon! Cheers
lovely video, my daughters and I watched this together, it's made them feel far more excited about van life
That's lovely thanks!
The Adventurines yeah. I can just encourage them to do it. We live in a rainbow world and especially in that times its the best of all times to send your daughters in a van out in the world. Top 👍😁💟
so lucky your children!!
OMG... That wood Burning Stove is the most Adorable Cutest thing ever!!
isn't it just!

I love every little things that she have in her van! Be it her books, kitchen utensils, kettle, everything! Her dog is a plus ❤ Would love to see an update after a year 😊
I watch a lot of videos about tiny home living. I am a free spirit myself and am intrigued by your lifestyle living out of a van. I would like to do the same as it will be cheaper than building an actual tiny home and a van is transportable and supports for travel. Where do you park for lavatory and toiletry facilities. Caravan parks charge for hire facilities. I suppose you can use local gym facilities too from time to time. I'm only at the conceptual stage.
Yeah she uses the climbing gym facilities a lot of the time :)
I'm so in love with this van
What a great story! Thank you for sharing the lives of these wonderful people :)
Saw the Indie Projects and expected to see Bea and Theo! Always enjoy seeing how people convert vans.
Realy great work and story! I'm just stunned by Hannah's enthusiastic way of presenting the van and how it is to live there!
Lo Nordahl thank you!
Yay for Border Collies! What a perfect travel companion :)
She's the best!
Yes! Border Collies are absolutely gorgeous & great companions!
Sorry, I know it was a little confusing! I made 2 Q and A's over on my channel to clear up some of the questions from this video
Border collies are the best :D
I love border collies, my dog is a cross of cavalier King Charles spaniel and border collie! She's beautiful
You are awesome, brave and make such a great example for other younger people.
The fact that this young lady has a Border Collie as her best friend, she is a 10 +++
🐾🐾🐾🐾
Wow! I loved that van layout and it has so much character and cosyness. Good video guys.
Wow wow wow, what an absolutely awesome van space. Loving the wooden storage and the wood burner is a winner every time!! Great interview, so interesting.
cheers Marc!
where do you plug your tv
?
Your dog is sooooo chilled! 👍
Love your little lights all over the van.
I love your style, so cozy and interior reflects who are you inside.
This video makes me so relaxed somehow
What a BEAUTIFUL van!! I am so jealous! This is like, a masterpiece compared to my toyhauler rn lol
I love your van, it's just amazing and seems just so cozy😊 I hope that maybe one time I can live in a van or something like this, too. Because I noticed that I'm not always doing what I love to do, hiking, climbing, reading.... because I had stuff to do at home, tidying up..
Thank you for your inspiration
Lot of respect for the way you’ve found ingenious ways to function in limited space. I have a Ford F-550 overland setup & it’s not very economical, though it’s beyond comfortable. I’m not ready to go down to Mercedes Sprinter scale, but would think that I could push more functions outside (e.g. shower, cooking, etc.). 👍🏻
Awesomely inspiring video Hannah! Was in a similar situation whilst in Aber uni... awesome to see others doing it too! Plus love your van; thinking i need an extension on mine ha :D Keep it up dude!
Hi just wondered if I could ask you some questions about doing vanlife in Aber? I'm thinking of it at the moment but have some concerns as well.
Love your work guys >.
Thanks!
Me too, except the broken English!
SiegHeilFuher Isn't it? Right, in my opinion, it is. Not fluent, swalloing vowels and things like that.
Brazilian. I lived in Australia for a few years. I have often been in the US coast to coast and in other countries in Oceania, Asia and the Americas. I've never been to Europe. But in Australia, "broken English" is said of pronunciations as the narrator in question, perhaps joking. As a linguist, I am interested in this, which is my only intention in commenting. Thank you.
No, her English is perfect, I mean... she's English, she sounds like she's from England. She has a fairly posh, probably southern/London accent. I mean technically her English is pretty close to received pronunciation, so she has very little accent. The up and down rhythm of her English is fairly typical of that accent.
I like her, she seems so happy with what she has, and not angry over what she hasn't
absolutely awesome, refreshing to come across someone different from the norm.
So tempted to do this but I don't think I'm that brave 😩
Just do it. Nike
I'm the same!
I love this, I rather live in a van then an apartment, mobile, no property taxes, put up a solar system you got your power needs taken care off, not to mention its great to stay in when you are visiting relatives, traveling the country you can just pull in to a rest stop to sleep, freedom!
Tallacus 😎👌🏻
Solar is a lot easier to steal than stuff inside, and much more conspicuous/draws attention more than a plainish white van..
Her voice is really relaxing to listen to.
This is so cool! Love your work! Van life is amazing!
The video is so good and I love your border collie ❤️🐶
OMG that adorable Woodburner is killing me with cuteness, omg. pls get me one too.
You're doing really well, Hannah! Enjoy your studies and your lifestyle.
Your collie is beautiful and seems so calm, mine is mental !! This is so cool though and very creative
This is amazing - I would love to do this! xx
Love what she did with the old dresser!
Love this van conversation looks fantastic
I really love the style off the van. It seems so hyggelig/cozy. The dog is also very cute.
The editing on this is perfect:
"Rosie kept going in the front..."
**Dog has the guiltiest look on her face**
im in a static caravan and i love it
This is incredible, look at how little she has, yet how happy she is!!! 👌👌👌👍
Love your channel I stumbled on it today soooo I’m binge watching your channel / love the barn it’s going to be amazing love y’all spirit your vision !
Hannah, great conversion and of course I love the wood-burning stove - but please tell me you have a carbon-monoxide alarm :-)
Nicely done video
thanks!
Hello! I watch this video SO SO SO much. It is my dream to convert a van. I think it is so cool, and since I want to go to college, and I don't want to pay for a dorm. Before I watched this, my idea for a van was almost exactly like this. LOVE IT!!!! Your vids help my dreams come true.
Fantastic home & outlook / attitude.
Anyone else is thinking the same thing i am? She is cute as hell!
FrankieMoto ikr
Hell ain't cute.
Came for the van, stayed for the ass, came for the ass.💦
Thebox you're right Hell aint cute, Hell is the most beautiful place ever.
She is cute and I think she made one of the best decisions (living in a van) . She actually doesn't depend of many things that almost people do.
Really looks like a home!!
best one i've ever had!
Fully respect this Girl. 🙌🏼
I want to do something like this some day tbh. I've seen lots of videos like this. I'm a uni student and I TOTALLY understand the stress of working and going to school full time. I barely get enough sleep. Maybe this would be a really good thing to invest in.
excellent, it structures your life and sifts out the riff-raff. It is just you and what matters to you
Cool van and A relief to not hear the word LIKE 30 x a minute.
I love your personality. I wish more people were like you.
This was lovely. Thank you.
That's feckin cool 👍
Brilliant video.. a fellow van liver 👋👊
Same. Hello!
You are awesome! Freebird indeed absoluteĺy love the van you did a great job also like how you brought the home element modified dresser ....
Makes me miss my old van :( so yeah anyways great vid as well...
Stunning video. Beautiful to watch 😊🙏☀️🚐
The whole time I was trying to figure out if that was a van she was in or if it was a mobile home or actual house. That van looks incredible. She looks incredible too.
I'm doing the same living in the van with my dog also studying Marine Biology in Cornwall. How do you cope with your dog while studying??
I'm 17 and i currently work on the rail ways, and i'm saving up for a van so i can go traveling round south america. Very envious of you ❤
