🇵🇭 Our HONEST Opinions of Greenhill Market, Metro Manila

  • Let's be honest with you, we have no idea what specifically a "flea market" is. We googled this place and online there was a comment saying it was a flea market... Is there a difference between a clothes market and a flea market? We still don't know
At Greenhills, Metro Manila Market, the only downside we had was being told by a group of stall owners that we couldn't film in there? Which just wasn't true... there was no signs saying we couldn't record... Nevertheless, we had great fun walking around this market and for us to actually leave the place with shopping bags, is a BIG WIN.

Some shops there are avoiding vlogs or any videos, for the reason that their items are all imitations, so many times they were raided by the authority due to numerous complaints from signature brands. They are avoiding the worse, similar to what happened in China where the Air Jordan brand filed cases in court, and the counterfeit manufacturer and the outlets went to jail. Vlog exposure could lead them to be noticed by the brand companies. Anyway, matters how you will tweak your content covering the entire Greenhills Malls and surroundings. Hehe

Jeepneys have a set road map they follow. They will always follow the same road they always take. You really need to be a local to navigate jeepneys. On the side of the jeepney you can see the places it goes to. Sometimes you will have just two locations sometimes more. Its basically the main locations of note that the jeepney is passing through. So you need to know the locations of where you want to go, where the jeepney is passing through, and where to get off. this is important because there are some places that have multiple jeeps that pass through a location but end up in different locations. You will easily know this by looking at the front of the Jeepney on the windshield, there will basically be a small sign of where the jeepney's endpoint is and with that information, a passenger can tell which line the jeepney is using. It is not uncommon to hop multiple jeepneys just to get to a certain location. Like navigating a subway. Get of station 13, go to platform 8 and get on train 4b, and then get off station 4 and transfer to train 8, ect, ect, ect. Good luck.

The way local Jeepneys operate is they only have specific destinations to go to and from by the placards/signs on the side of the Jeepney itself. They cannot go outside their so called boundaries. For example, you'll see a Jeepney with Baclaran - Guadalupe. It basically means the boundary it operates is only within those two points of designated destinations. That's the reason why a Jeepney driver will tell you to catch another Jeepney that may extend beyond his boundary. Check the front mirror of an incoming Jeepney towards you, they usually have a placard displayed to where his final destination is. I hope this helps.
Suggestions to go to? How about an outdoor market at Divisoria & Quiapo. then from there, take a Jeepney to Manila City Hall, visit the fountain , park and Cafe there in the late afternoon. You'll be pleasantly surprised. Also visit OKADA at night for a fountain show/ Fireworks. That place is enormous, and fantastic. The PASAY area has lots of places to eat. I recommend you go to Singing Cooks & Waiters for early Dinner, and a show which can include you guys. Get there before 5 pm. No Spoilers. I promise you;ll have fun, and great content for the vlog.

Hi. I lived in Mandaluyong from birth til I got to 45 yrs old. The main thoroughfare is Boni Avenue, with end stations at the corner of EDSA avenue and Kalentong (heading to San Juan) on the other. As you may know, you access the MRT trains at EDSA. And to go to the Ortigas CBD area, take a Grab and it should pass Pioneer Road from Boni Avenue.
Don't forget to see the Festival of lights at Ayala Triangle in Makati. Cheers! 🎅Ho ho ho!

jeepneys have designated routes, usually you find them on the signages in front or on the sides of the jeeepney. if you want to go to greenhills which is in san juan city and you are in the mandaluyong city area, it is just very near as the two cities are neighbors. however, i don't know if there is a jeepney that ply that route, example boni ave or shaw blvd to ortigas ave. greenhills. i am from boni ave., mandaluyong city and i take the jeepney along boni ave. to take me to mrt station. then i take the mrt from boni ave. station to ortigas ave station. then i get off at the ortigas station (you will pass by shaw blvd, the sm megamall) where i can find robinsons galleria. then i take the jeepney going to quiapo and tell the driver to off load me at greenhills. this is minimum fare of 11 i think if i remember it right. and it is now greenhills.

the people who recommended you guys to go to Greenhills should have warned you about the no filming thing. Because of the nature of what some of the stalls are selling, ehem, I should say authenticity of the products of some products in some stalls, filming is either a hit or miss. Some people don't like being filmed, and some don't mind. It is better to ask first. and don't walk while filming. Some "government officials" use videos like this as evidence of "unofficial" products being sold and opt to do a raid to the detriment of shop owners.

Better next time ask someone at the front door like security guard if you can open a cam and do vlogging inside the premises.

For example, you’re in Makati and you want to go to SM Megamall in Mandaluyong, and the bus’ label says, “SM North Edsa”, that means the bus will pass along Mandaluyong and its final destination is in Quezon City specifically in SM North Edsa. I don't think it's hard to understand why some stalls don't want filming. They are selling (wink wink) imitation brands. Watching this from the US, we never see any of the items there on sale in our onw flea markets. So it's rare to see those items that they're selling there.

at least you can do vlogs in the Philippines. Compared here in the UK, someone tells you to stop filming, so there is no freedom compared to people from the Philippines who are happy with the camera 100%.

Everyone knows that fake goods are sold there. But the authorities won’t act on it if there aren’t complaints. Videos can be basis for complaints. So no videos. Hehe.
