That's cool dude that you also speak Tagalog!!! There's also a expat that lives kinda by the green hills he's also a RUclips blogger called Joseph my life in metro area but he doesn't speak full Tagalog. Plus there's another expat living somewhere in manila his video blog is the hunger Syrian Wanderer.
Thanks for checking out the video. I had worked here for a few years and learning the language came in handy. Filipinos always seem to appreciate that a person takes the time to learn their National language.
Green hills is cool. It's kind of like a flea market. No 2nd hand items though, just Chinese mDe knockoffs mostly. The etymology of the name is still open to debate. It's interesting that historians can't really determine why, or how it started being called that. But most seem to think “It is called the ‘Flea’ Market because there are so many second-hand articles sold of all kinds that they are believed to gather fleas.”
Every tourist should visit Greenhills for their souvenirs----its fun to barter, its like the local game---I always buy a cap and get good value. A great video coverage---thanks
+Clyde Seaside That's a cool way to look at it. It is like a game, I bought two hats from different vendors that day. I really liked how many different types they had.
Are you wearing a ballistic vest? BTW the nice young lady that told you to buy a watch for Personal Use probably stated that as opposed to buying it as a gift for friends and family back home.
+jaymeez That makes sense, as opposed to buying it as a Pasalubong- Not sure why that didn't occur to me. Yes, that is the Armor Express Razor IIIA series in a revolution carrier.
+jaymeez The general answer to the question is "no", however crime (mostly theft) is rampant here, but not everywhere. If you are unaware, drunk, flashing cash or gadgets; the likelihood of being targeted/snatched/pick-pocketed is higher. The Philippines is number 11 on most dangerous countries to visit as a foreigner. There is a war on crime here and people are gunned down drive by style. Cops and SWAT are sporting shotguns and Assault Rifles on every corner. And of course Martial Law is in effect- But not in Manila or Visayas. Not to forget corrupt politician (drug related) murders at Malls (another just last week actually) And just good ol' fashion Mall robbery with the modern twist of tossing a few grenades to liven things up- But that doesn't happen very often. I feel very safe here, in 5 years, I've never heard a shot fired, or seen a firearm, or non-lethal drawn. Cuz' #itsmorefuninthephilippines
+flipgurujn Yes, I wondered that as well. Because I have had two friends that had purses "bike snatched". The key is environmental awareness, managing your gear responsibly. And wearing bags in a manner they are secure.
+Peter T Yes, some of the clips shot on the iPhone7 had some weird distortion present. I'll remember to check the mic ports to see if they have any lint or obstruction.
Hey brother I have been away from RUclips for a while due to being so damn busy driving for Uber here in Southern California thanks for another great video I love this mall it reminds me so much of MBK Center in Bangkok.
Went there "once" and found it fascinating. Loved the pearls but didn't buy as someone said be careful, under certain conditions some may stain clothes with the dye used to color the pearls. :o Might be true or not, just didn't care to test the theory. ;p Enjoyed the video...
+1dir I had never heard that, thanks for noting it. When I first visited years ago I bought pearls as gifts. No one has ever noted, or mentioned any issue with them.
I went to that place once and was amazed at how many vendors were selling cellphone accessories. Was thinking how do these people ever make money. Told a friend if I was going to have a space that this place I know what not to sell, phone accessories. To much competition for the same merchandise.
+ytgc14544 Very true, many of them look for repeat business. They try and offer outstanding service, reduced prices, bundle deals, or freebies. They ask their friends and families to buy from them. And/or they carry a product that is unique when they can. Some of them are employees of the vendors (and) will not get paid for the day if they don't make at least one sale. That is a lot of incentive to hustle and haggle to make the sale.
What camera are you using in this video? Seems different as the audio isn't the same as your other videos. There is like a reverb or something with the audio during certain parts.
Strange happenings with some of the clips shot on the iPhone7 in this vid. The audio in a few (not all) of the clips was warbly, like there was a lot of wind in the mic. I tried to adjust for it in post, so they do sound a bit off. I used a GoPro Hero 4 Black on an EVO Gimbal, and might have a capture or two edited in from a Canon EOS Rebel i mostly use for stills. It was also loud in there, I used just a touch of noise suppression which i usually don't do.
great vid, haven't been to greenhills but will sure visit it when we get home this December. We're so excited, long over due Xmas with family in over 10 yrs!
Hard to say, but you are probably right, especially at such cheap prices. I have purchased items there that have lasted for years (and others) that totally crapped out. Maybe next time - I don't often wear watches, and have broken every one i have ever owned except for a Citizens eco-drive watch. It has some diamond hard crystal glass on it (AKA: Fancy Brass knuckles)
Good.video. I've often heard locals talking about this place when I've been in Manila but I'm yet to go there. How far and how long to get there from Eastwood City, approx? ( which I want to check out later this year - looking for a change grom the over priced Greenbelt )
It’s pretty close to Eastwood. But distance is not a good measure for travel in Manila (because of traffic). I’ve gotten to green hills in 15 minutes from Eastwood. But it’s also taken me 45 minutes depending on the day and time. Google maps shows the distance.
+stephen francis Thank you 😊. It was a slower day, I went on a weekday because I remember the weekends are very crowded. Always thankful for the air con👍
+wahleed taula That is a good way to describe it. Although I have never seen/visited a part of Divisoria that sells pearls like Greenhills. I'm sure part of one of the Divi malls has a whole fake jewelry section.
+Langto Mokholly Thank you so much for the positive feedback. I just saw on the news last night Greenhills was raided by the fuzz. All the replica bags were seized and confiscated (60 million Php) of (replica) merchandise. I don't know if they went after the shoes too- but I think they did. T was hard to understand the reporter - he was talking really fast. But some foreigner business guy visited the mall (and flipped out) when he saw all the fakes. I guess he realized why his genuine product wasn't selling so well. He filed a formal complaint and the authorities acted on it 😱😭
Amazing video! one of the best out there for greenhills and super informative! Thankyou!
+Ross Delport Thank you for the very nice comment, I appreciate the feedback and the generous compliment. Happy to hear it was informative for you.

That so cool we have similar here in America besides malls they are called flea markets 😅 I guess because at one time they sold fleas lol lol lol

back in the 80's and 90's greenhills is where you buy originals authentics stuff. now a lot of knock offs
+clevelandlife 1 I never knew that, thanks for sharing. I also didn't know it had been around since the 80's.
Green hills.168 .999 malls what a diff.
👍🏼

why wear a vest? Is the crime that bad there?

Audio is not the best in some of the video 👍

Bags please authentic
Many bags, but I don’t think many of the ones at the Greenhills mall are authentic. 🤷🏻
Go divisoria or giapo it's half the prices of greenhills
Tru dat, but the knockoffs are class B.
@@itsManilaBaybee no if you go to the right places that have AAA and 5A much less than green hills
@@michaelsky8592 There are a few places for sure, but it seems Greenhills tends to have the best Knockoffs.

LIKE AN UPMARKET DIVISORIA WITHOUT THE CROWD, ERIC.
+Philippines/Oz Fun With JLB Yes, it's a nicer experience, better products too- And plenty of characters.
I went to that place once and was amazed at how many vendors were selling cellphone accessories. Was thinking how do these people ever make money.

+thegtz 👍

Thank you, glad to hear you liked it. It’s a fun mall experience, and you can find some great deals there for sure.
You should have purchased the watch. I am sure that they would take a licken and keep on ticken. LOL
Hard to say, but you are probably right, especially at such cheap prices. I have purchased items there that have lasted for years (and others) that totally crapped out. Please make a video on Greenhills again, especially the shoes and the watches please!
Next time i'm passing through there i'll stop in and get an in-depth watch expose, I always like to check out the shoes.
Awesome! thank you very much
Hello Sir, bili na dito.....just catching up on youtube, rain day in central Pa.........

videolux.org Thanks for your reply.
I remember when i was 18 i got lost in the vmall tsange 😅😅
it’s a maze in there, it takes a while to get oriented
True story??
Have you gotten any dental work done in the Philippines?
No, not yet. But Im told it’s very inexpensive here.
nice to know there are "peersonal use watches " at that mall ; ) lol
+Nick Yes indeed, I really was tempted but luckily I managed to resist the desire for personal use.
Don't spend your all your money in one place.
+EZ357 L.A. Always good advice - Thanks
Compared to the divisoria Greenhills is expensive!
Yes, the difference between Class A knock-offs and Class B, or C.
Nice song, nice vid. Thanks for posting!
+Kimberly M Thank you for the nice comment and taking a moment to watch the vid.
slow day there but nice video and air con .
+stephen francis Thank you 😊. It was a slower day, I went on a weekday because I remember the weekends are very crowded. Always thankful for the air con👍
Greet video ,,very informative ,,camera is awesome
Thanks, I always enjoy a trip to Greenhills, it can be a bit overwhelming- There is so much activity and so many vendors and shops.
Lmao frozen yoghurt instructions!!!
+Abe Dulce I had a good laugh at that. But no one here seemed to find the humor in it- Something lost in translation I guess.
videolux.org I don't know mate but I might pop in next week and find that sign to take a photo. Lmao
Nice video gf here lol.
+Ay Noumi 😍
Class A Fakes ha ha ha
That’s the ticket at Greenhills mall.
Yes, Greenhills is like the high end counterpart of Divisoria.
+wahleed taula That is a good way to describe it. Although I have never seen/visited a part of Divisoria that sells pearls like Greenhills. I'm sure part of one of the Divi malls has a whole fake jewelry section.
Genuine fake lol
+MO5E5 T.YILMAZ Exactly! At Greenhills they sell the real deal genuine class A fake products.
Nice video bro 👍🏼
+Nick Guzzer Thank you for your positive feedback- I really appreciate it.

+Sami Alsubhi Thank you, glad to see you liked it.
What is
The title of the music?
The Music credits are listed on the end screen of the video
Nice video. Keep it up. 👍.
I i also really want the yeezys shoes from Greenhills. I heard they have good replicas. 😭
+Langto Mokholly Thank you so much for the positive feedback. I just saw on the news last night Greenhills was raided by the fuzz. Thank You for the News. 😭
Then what about Cartimar? 🤔
+Langto Mokholly I don't know what Cartimer is. 😵
Cartimar is also a market place like Greenhills. In philippines.
+Langto Mokholly 👍- It looks like the Greenhills raid was only for the replica handbags
Where did u pick ur lady man?
Hello thanks for watching and the inquiry. I’m not sure what you mean. Are you asking where I met my GF?
