as a DM who has spent the last 20+ years with their time steeped in this lore. This was a very good summary of what people might have questions about when jumping into this game. Awesome job! People will also have questions about Deep Gnomes.
Thank you so much! I love reading people that are new appreciate this video and how it helps them but hearing it from a veteran always hits different. I got into dnd lore just a few years back and only recently started DM'ing so this comment means a lot my friend!
This was super helpful. Picked up BG3 on release day and felt like I was simultaneously drowning and feeling my way through the dark and just could not orient myself well. This definitely helped fix that.
Super happy about that, glad to see the video is reaching the correct audience. If anything is still unclear do not hesitate to ask! I will make more videos on the lore but might get to those first then. Happy adventuring my friend!
Think about this: Wizards of the coast, and they have magic the gathering, and dnd as their basis. You can have basically anything there, and because it's so... I don't know... Believable somehow, and so mesmerizing, and then the other half comes from the open-endedness and somewhat mad world. I'm not sure... I can trust that world for being out there, and that fuels it. Now I'm just rambling about what I think. Other games don't really take that grip on you, even if it pulls or pushes you, it doesn't necessarily mean anything but that, and possibly they just did that and leaves you hanging, or they just miss you. But yeah, all of those things share same universe. Dnd, MGT, baldur's Gate... Let's have planeswalkers come up and meet us... Sure there is some reason why it's not happening.😅
The world of the forgotten realms has been around since the mid 60s. Before dungeons and dragons was even a thing. Hundreds of novels. More than a dozen video games, a movie, board games, toys, etc
Go play the other Forgotten Realms games, especially Planescape: Torment, if you really want to get into the craziness of multiverses and such. That game takes place in Sigil which is located in the same realms as Avernus and the other hells and the realms where elementals and such come from. Such a fun game.
Nice summary, I'm relieved that in 110h I've spent so far in act 1, through all dialogues and documents, I was pretty much on point with these things, despite no experience with DnD. I understand how other people would easily feel overwhelmed, but for me I'm basking in joy with all there is to learn !
Thank you so much for the video. I just started playing Baldur's Gate 3 with no prior knowledge and I was overwhelmed and confused about everything. This is just what I needed to understand what is going on in this universe
Super happy to read that! If you've any questions still, don't hesitate to ask! I am brainstorming further lore videos to help out ^^ Happy adventuring my friend!
Love the video! Honestly more impressed with how BG3’s lore is actually super friendly to new players just jumping in the game… I’ve put 60 hours in as a new player (never touching dnd) and so far I think all of world building has filled in most of the gaps… this video filled them even more!
Happy to hear you're having fun and even happier that I could fill in some of the gaps for you! Larian really made an amazing game with this and it's awesome seeing so many people get introduced to these characters. Thanks for the comment and happy adventuring my friend!
Having just completed Descent into Avernus, and played many years of DnD it’s great seeing it in game form but playing it I thought how overwhelming it must be for new players, great job!
My thoughts exactly and as a sucker for lore stuff I had hoped a video like this would help people out. Appreciation of veterans like yourself is humbling though, thank you!
Thanks for this video. I saw the overwhelming response to Baldur’s Gate and gave it a shot. I’m enjoying the combat, world and characters but the overall lore was a complete mystery to me so this video was super helpful.
Thank you! This definitely explained a lot of confusion i was having on the story after playing for 10 hours. Like the demons devils tieflings karlach thing
If you get fascinated by the world of Faerun and the Sword Coast there are plenty of novels set in that area not the least of which is the tale of Drizzt Do'Urden, a rebellious drow and the best swordfighter in the world. While Baldur's Gate as a city is merely mentioned in passing other locations such as the Underdark and Icewind Dale are described in detail. Most of the stories take place just north up the coast from BG, but generally the history is canon and the world is the same. Just look up "Drizzt" books...
100% agree! These books are what got me into the lore of D&D. I picked them up years ago because they seemed intriguing, not even knowing what they were about!
I never knew that that series is based on DnD stuff. I only read 1 or 2 of them like 10 years ago and intended to read more until I got overwhelmed by just how much there was already.
Well there's also many other games besides the Baldur's Gate ones. There is the Planescape series as well as Neverwinter Nights and Icewind Dale and Pool Of Radiance; all take place in different areas of Faerun and let you experience the world. Then there are the dungeon crawler and multiplayer ones like Demon Stone and such that let you play as or with Drizzt. So besides the books, there's tons of other games to experience the world, too.
This was the only game I got early access (3 years ago). I grew up with D&D and couldn't wait to see what Larian accomplished. I love what they did & glad Wizards of the Coast (D&D owner), didn't have their sleazy hands in this. I will support Larian 💯 and they earned it. No micro transaction hell scapes either. Which is what WoTC would've done. And they're too cheap to make anything like this. And the company is run by greedy corporate types that don't know anything about D&D. You can tell fans made this game and not WoTC. It's unfortunate that the company isn't run by Larian.
This was very well summed up! Thanks! BG3 will be my 1st D&D experience, + it'll be likewise for friends of mine who'll play loyal coop with me when this game drops on Xbox Series X
I'm going to play a duergar druid, who's less about nature in a greens and trees sense and more about nature from a rock and dirt sense. Will be Shapeshifting into an Earth golem asap.
I've played a desert druid before. Based it around Egyptian mythology and had a lot of things like snakes and cats etc as wildshape options. I was contemplating a custom sorcerer, but then they revealed the dark urge and now I dunno :(
I will play a Dark Urge, Draconic, oathbreaker7/warlock3/spore2. Red Dragon. In a multiplayer setting. My friend will play a druid/barb shapeshifter, and my other friend will play a necromancer. I pray we can not play a murdrr hobo cession...i will try my best. Lol
This was a fantastic overview and intro to some of the most important background lore and info for the game - been playing since launch (beta actually) and while I knew all of this, it was a great watch for anyone. Brand new, or long time player alike
Thank you so much! Comments like these really help make my day, especially from people that already knew this stuff because that hits just that bit different still hah! Glad you enjoyed and happy adventuring still my friend!
I never post a comment on these type of videos but this guy deserves it. Great calm voice to listen to, amazing way of storytelling and giving the most important information. You have my like and sub sir.
Thank you so much, this comment has made my day! I'm just happy to provide some guidance and help people out where I can really, nice to see the videos are finding the right audience! Happy adventuring my friend!
You did a great job distilling a lot of lore into a precise video. This should help a lot of people not feel so lost so they can really enjoy the story more. This is a like from me.
I hope this video was able to help you out then even though it's just some basics. At any rate, thank you for the comment and happy adventuring my friend!
@@Doublezonelore videos, gameplay, to builds will literally shoot you to the top. Keep on keeping on man. You couldn't ask for a better target audience though.
3:36 That is a logical fallacy if I ever heard one. How can you be one mind if at the same time you also display such individualistic thoughts as "I'm better than my peers".
In the greater scheme they are one mind with one goal: the betterment of their colony and the Illithid race. Individually however they very much like to be better than their peers. For example have the stronger slaves.
Well done on this summary! You did a great job summarizing some of the key lore bits for newbies and experts alike! Been playing D&D for many years and forgot or didn't know some of this!
Thank you so much, happy that you could still learn a thing or two even as an expert! I've always been a sucker for good lore heh. Happy adventuring my friend!
This is a very well made video. The graphics are good, vivid and informative. You scale over all parts in concise manner. Maybe you could more in depth on another video..? If I have just one complaint, your mic could use just a tiny bit of work, it's really good, there's just this little background noice or distortion.
As someone who pre-ordered this game, but has never played a single second of D&D, I thank you. I was beginning to get a bit overwhelmed with how lost i was going to feel in this game.
Very happy to read this, exactly the people I was looking to help! Got some more planned as well but wanted to hold off a bit for people to get a bit further into the game. At any rate, happy adventuring my friend!
Perfect bro, thank you! I love roleplaying as characters based on myself in these kinds of games, and would not have known that a Tiefling would be the perfect match if it weren't for your video.
I dont think the teiflings have changed much since 3.5e. Even back then, they were planetouched. Similar to hound archons and Aasimar. I always wanted to play a teifling. Though they were evil aligned in 3.5, i believe
Thank you for these *DnD/BG3 Lore Videos* ... i just found your channel this morning while playing *Baldurs Gate 3* for the first time, besides the 10 or so hours I've had in the early access beta... I think I have around 60-80 hours of actual playtime in game and I am just now getting to *Act 2* 😂😂 going into *Act 2* at level 6 is going to be fun though since I hopefully will wreck enemies, even though the *Skeletons & Ghouls* you fight at the start of *Act 2* were kicking my ass a little bit... would love to see more *Lore Videos* about *DnD & BG3* as I've only played *DnD* with the homies for like 30 mins a couple times so I really do not know much at all when it comes to *The Lore Of DnD & BG3* and its a lot to learn for sure... I am in love with the game though.. Ive never played the first 2 *Baldurs Gates* games but once I finish *BG3* I am for sure getting *BG1 & 2* they are sometimes dirt cheap on *Steam* as well during sales especially
I'm just glad the videos are reaching the right people and I'm able to help someone, thank you for leaving a comment! More videos on specifically BG3 topics are planned definitely as I think that'll reach more people that want to dip their toes in without drowning entirely in this vast amount of lore lol... Enjoy the game my friend, happy adventuring!
Thanks for this. I realised that what I liked about DOS2 is the story and not the combat, so im playing BG3 explorer mode for the story.. but i had no idea about the lore! Thanks
@@Chipsmhmh He is playing hard to get! Well on my first blind playthru, i play a Draginborn. I am 5lvl pally for now. I will mix it. But i am not aure with what yet. Will be oathbreaker. But am not 100% sure if i want warlock or sorcerer. I do love pact of the blade and eldricht blast. But movement is not a problem. So i am considering sorcerer. But usually pal/sorc is better with a lot of aorcerer level. I will go Paladin 9. So 3 warlock and 2 sorc. Or 5 sorc. Or 5 warlock. I cant make my mind.
Just bought BG3 and man I wasn't expecting world/lore like this. I really like it so far it's really cool. I thought that it's just your typical fantasy with humans, orcs, dragons, swords n shields and so on but I see that it's much deeper. Too bad I didn't pick those earlier BG1 and BG2 games when I was younger back in the day
It does indeed go deeper! But no worries, it's good that you didn't HAVE to play BG1 and 2 to enjoy BG3! I didn't either, didn't have a pc as a kid so couldn't really ^^' Enjoy your adventures still my friend! Wether in Faerun or elsewhere😄
Glad you enjoyed it. Unfortunately can't make the actual title like that as nobody would see it thanks to the youtube algorithm BUT happy that it's helping a lot of people. Happy adventuring my friend!
Oh my days what a game. Loved the og and second one when they first came out though. Glad this has been made with love.. Will subscribe, great channel mate.
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it! Been actually thinking about playing the first two myself, didn't have the opportunity when I was younger... Who knows!
@@Doublezone They are immense. I never finished the second but got really far into it, I think there's an underdark part if the mind serves right haha. If you get a chance they are certainly worth a spin.
They sure did go full comic book after 3.x in The Forgotten Realms. Used to be a pretty good campaign setting, now it's so modern and cosmopolitan it doesn't feel like a fantasy world, but rather just the fantasy analogue of Metropolis or something.
I guess it's inevitable when a setting is used as a setting for a lot of high fantasy adventures by a lot of writers of different skill. You have power creep, a world ending menace every few years that makes everything trivial, and what distinguish the setting gets lost, so it becomes just a recollection of lore trivia. I'd add that in my opinion you can really see when a Marvel or DC (but especially the first) writer gets the task of writing something in another setting, the result will often be a story with a world-ending threat that ends up being beaten without consequences and half the time spent in characters having drama about feelings (example that Incal spinoff with the psycho-nuns)
Dude sick breakdown of the lore! Thank you! This fantasy world is way deeper and more epic than I thought dam bg3 is such a good game. They could honestly make so many good movies from this world too. Also imagine a bauldurs gate MMO, with the same or similar combat and magic system as bg3. Id die in my computer chair right there, butt cheeks fused to it haha. Thanks again, I'll probably be binge watching your videos now good job, peace out.
Hey glad to hear you like the video! The lore is fantastic and would make for some amazing cinema opportunities, I think Wizards just isn't the best company to work with to be honest ^^' I don't know of any mmo's that use the same fighting system but if you want an mmo that is set in the same multiverse and features prominent characters, there is the Neverwinter free to play MMO! Cheers and happy adventuring my friend!
This video is incredible. Unfortunately, the knowledge presented has me compelled to restart my save due to my thirst for power and ignorance of the dangers of Tadpoles.
@@Doublezone I did, indeed. Keep up the quality content. I've subscribed, and I predict your channel will blow up.🤞 You present and write very well. I look forward to future videos. Sincerely, The man who lost at Squid-Game. 😆
2:03 It was my understanding that by Baldur's Gate 3 the Githyanki had hunted the Illithids down to the point where they only remained on Toril. Is that correct? I heard it was something about them losing their technology to be able to build their ships?
I know I’m late af to the party (Xbox🙄) but I kept seeing this game all over the place so I decided to purchase it 2 weeks ago and….. I’m hooked! I can’t stop playing already put 20 hrs in and still in act 1! (Im a loot goblin not using any videos) if I didn’t have to work this would be my life until i enjoyed every last morsel of it😌 I feel like cartman at work just wanting to take my fat ass home to play it😅
Might be a bit old but don't worry bro!! Take your time, if it's truly your first run ever , do it *blind* until you absolutely (I mean after hours of thinking) have no reasonable solution to something like a puzzle. I made sure I didn't even *touch* BG3 videos at all during my first campaign these past few months, and it's worth it. You can learn a lot just by being curious in the game. This is that type of game that if you're already into it, just playing it will absolutely enthrall you and leave you wondering where the fuck the hours went with a big smile like you got something back you haven't had in a while : *FUN* Man, I had the game in Early Access on my laptop when it was first released but my computer is inferior and couldn't handle the environments after a certain point, so I waited until it was on console myself. It was a long wait, but man was it worth it . I am now on my second run with just as much curiosity as my first run and I upped the difficulty to ensure my alertness bc with that alone I already am getting shit on by fights I considered easier with Balanced. I can't state this enough, but seriously takkkkeee your timmmeeee...by the time your first run is over, the journey itself will hit you, it will leave you just amazed at how much you your party went through. Find your favorite companions and be their bro, or sis. Or just say fuck them all, however you do it, don't even think about rushing to do something. Enjoy every last second of this work of art, and cherish the journey my friend. One of the best games of all time, ever.
BG3 is my first time playing a turn based from the top game and overall being introduced tto DND. I love it, but the roll system is pretty unnecessary, and I would at least like an option to disable it. I want to choose what decision I want to take, and not only cant I do that, but the rolls have such a high chance to go bad that my third choice in the game is pretty much a guaranteed loose. And because of that I need to take a completely different path that I did not want at all and need to see the consequences of it hours later and need to play for so long in such a vast game. I can totally understand the rolls in reallife dnd, that is something completely different with playing not a video game and being with people etc. but in a game? Where there are choices? No thanks.
Great video, was exactly what i was looking for. Thank you very much for putting it together. Fantastic voice to listen to aswell. I feel some slight information about Elturel and the reason for the flow of refuguees would be a helpful addition.
Don't need to play D&D to get into it. I've been playing these Baldur's Gate games and similar RPGs since I was 13 and no one ever played D&D with me, but it taught me the lore and the world of the Forgotten realms and helped me expand my imagination.
I know, they are awesome! This video is more for people that want to play BG3 but don't know dnd though so didn't want to go TOO deep you know? I do have a full lore video on Gith 😁
If the mind flayers think they are better than all creatures, are their mind flayer dogs and gnolls? I know they have the walking brains but do they "alien" all creatures or only humanoids?
They mostly go for humanoids that already resemble them somewhat, elven or human mostly where the ceremorphosis just remakes their body, takes less effort I suppose. I remember reading about them infesting like an ogre with that resulting in a broad monstrosity but I can't remember the source of that. And then there's the elder brain dragon... fun stuff!
I NEVER thought I would play an RPG that plays like BG3. I took the leap with it on sale for 53 bucks and I regret nothing. I’m in it for the long haul.
Glad you liked it! There are books about the Baldur's gate series (shadows of amn for example) and I believe these talk about the events also in the previous game installs. They're definitely on my "to read" list! Happy adventuring my friend!
If we dont get to visit menzoberranzen i at least hope they put Jarlaxle in the game. My favorite character in the icewind dale books. Well, him and Artemis entrari.
In this Baldur's Gate you don't sadly. Certain games like Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate 2 let you visit other drow cities. Supposedly the Neverwinter MMO has it though.
Planescape Torment and the other Forgotten Realms games are great. Sad to see you never got into them. Try the Divinity games by Larian if you like this one, although don't expect it to be as great and polished as this. Maybe you might like games like Pillars of Eternity or Tyranny.
Thank god i watched this before i played BG3. I wouldn't have understood what was going on if i didn't know about the cities many functioning cisterns, aquaducts and hay stockpiles helping to control slippery steps and hygiene.
@Doublezone Same. I loved those books and literally just made the connection to d&d now when you mentioned the Drow. Came here after starting Divinity 2 with all the Baldurs Gate hype... I had no idea. Man, I have to check out more d&d lore.
You seem to have forgotten Ilmater as one of the gods with a temple in Baldur's Gate and is featured in the game. Also Githyanki are not immune to the astral plane and need to return to the material plane to hatch offspring and age. This is also covered in the game.
It's crazy how vast the cosmology of forgotten realms is, there are like shit tons, the pirate space thing, spelljammers, and these space wars between elves and a coalition of monsters was a thing, even crazier? Undead Insect MECHA made by the elves called the spirit warrior. Also apparently the old wizard Elmant whatever, Gale's friend, the name's hard to spell, so he went to earth, OUR EARTH, there are mentions of freaking Pangea even, and foxes in Faerun were taken from Earth. Crazier things are even out there, Planescape something about the multiverse is told there, and Neverwinter where there is this crazy ass dragon that is obsessed with harmony and apparently a very important figure or something, those who are curious the name starts with a Z and is a steel dragon. Heck zeus is in the forgotten realm, along with the Celtics, IIRC only 3 Earth's Pantheon were in forgotten realms. A lot of newcomers will drown in its lore, heck the first time I tried to DM, its a god damn hard work, I tried to craft and weave tiny details, like statues or painting to give hints, and that leads to lore, which WILL DROWN you. BUT its hella fun, I don't play dnd much, but my cousin who is a hardcore player, always manage to learn something new lore wise, never DM once. Part of the fun is when the DM is a lore geek and you learn something new while you yourself know a decent chunk of lore, love the moment "did I miss some details on some lore somewhere" or "wtf, that's a lore thing?" You manage to make a good summary is a big plus and definitely help newcomers to jump into the crazy ass branching lore of forgotten realms.
The fact that Elminster actually walked Earth blew my mind when I read about that... I've been doing some more research into him and it's fascinating! Personally I'm not that much a fan of the too advanced stuff but yes, the lore goes very, very deep and it can be very intimidating for new DM's (I recently started as well!) but I'll just go with what I know and learn as I go really! 😄
@@Doublezone yeah, and the fact that a lot of animals were from earth is amazing, and Ivory trading that was booming was because spelljammers were going to prehistoric earth before and after pangea era to hunt down ivory tusks, horns, etc was mind blowing too (IIRC, heard in passing ivory hunting was done on our earth due to the sheer abundance of it) Its, how should I put it, too much, even for an experienced DM, there is just too much. So your take is IMO usually the best, its like "ok so you want to make a campaign in hell, go make it and learn the lore". Basically I approach lore when IT'S NEEDED or when IT'S RELEVANT to the campaign I try to craft for the players, less headache and a lot less intimidation factor, and that is by a damn text lmao.
"Lore you "NEED" to know" -- 5 seconds in : "Topics you "MAY" want to know about". Make up your mind yo. Do I really need to know it as the clickbait title suggests, or is it just generic lore? :-) Edit: Huh.. I take it back. I thought from the title it's just another generic click-bait video... But this was indeed lore that is much NEEDED. Well done, sir. Great job!!
You had me in the first half, not gonna lie. Unfortunately the youtube algorithm works in such a way that, if I want my video to be seen, I have to use a title like that. I very much dislike it and only do it if I am confident a video will actually provide value to people. "Baldur's Gate 3 lore you perhaps would like to know" doesn't work that well sadly 😅 Glad you enjoyed the video still though, happy adventuring my friend!
@@Doublezone 100% understand and tbh with you, this was not clickbait. The title is true to its word because people NEED to watch this. It's very much essential haha! Thank you. You as well! :-)

Been playing D&D for most of my life, and only recently picked up the first of the Drizzt books. So glad I finally did!
Started with these. Sojourn is my fav
Happy to hear I could help you out, I'm sure you and your friends will love the forgotten realms.
Happy adventuring my friend!
I'm going to play a duergar druid, who's less about nature in a greens and trees sense and more about nature from a rock and dirt sense. Will be Shapeshifting into an Earth golem asap.
Circle of spores might be cool too as Myconid live in the underdark with them!
Have fun though! 😁
Lol
@@celuiquipeut6527 I'm thinking tiefling with the fact they man get a rough time socially. But also considering githyanki to see how Lae'zel reacts
@@Grigeral I will do red dragon draginborn. Eager to see how she will act with me. I will be dark urge. She better behave.

You did a great job distilling a lot of lore into a precise video. This should help a lot of people not feel so lost so they can really enjoy the story more. This is a like from me.
Thank you so much. Very happy that this video has helped a lot of new people find their bearings a bit, can be confusing!
YAY, lore! I've slowly been feeling more and more 'out of the loop' as I progress, helping to spark my curiosity on the backstory/lore.
I hope this video was able to help you out then even though it's just some basics.
At any rate, thank you for the comment and happy adventuring my friend!
BG3 is my first exposure to the lore. Thanks for the nice bits of info!
You're very welcome, glad you enjoyed it.

Legit the most useful lore out of any video in the last little while…. And I’ve watched a lot of videos!
Glad you found it useful my friend, thank you for the compliment!
This is the BEST lore video for BG3 preparation I’ve seen, and I’ve seen them all!
Thanks a ton!

Reaaally helpful for someone like me, gonna be my first time playing something D&D related!
Very happy then that my video found you.
Enjoy your adventures in the Forgotten Realms my friend, it's a wondrous place!
This is a very well made video. The graphics are good, vivid and informative. You scale over all parts in concise manner. Maybe you could more in depth on another video..?
If I have just one complaint, your mic could use just a tiny bit of work, it's really good, there's just this little background noice or distortion.
The hype is real! Great work on your content Double, hope you'll enjoy the release :D
Thank you my friend, definitely looking forward to it!
@Doublezone I can't wait for tomorrow, (I'm on ps5) and more of your videos!
Perfect bro, thank you! I love roleplaying as characters based on myself in these kinds of games, and would not have known that a Tiefling would be the perfect match if it weren't for your video.
Glad to hear it, have fun and happy adventuring my friend!
This video deserves all the views. Great work, dude.
Thank you my friend! Hope you'll enjoy the game if you pick it up!
So the main enemy of astral pirates are tentacle monsters, well... that suddenly makes a lot more sense...

Thanks for this. I realised that what I liked about DOS2 is the story and not the combat, so im playing BG3 explorer mode for the story.. but i had no idea about the lore! Thanks

@@Doublezone I went with Tiefling :D and have been enjoying the 100 hours I've shamelessly put into the world already.
I didn't either, didn't have a pc as a kid so couldn't really ^^'

Really nice job, you start the video with the correct title for it "knowledge you may want to know", and its awesome to know.

Happy adventuring my friend!
It's amazing how a game with so much detail and hard work put into it can fail miserably at something as basic as autosave slots
I'm new in D&D - but this video and BG3 brings a lot of life and backround knowledge into the roleplaying game - thx for that
Glad to hear this video helped you out! Welcome to DnD and happy adventuring my friend!
The lore is fantastic and would make for some amazing cinema opportunities, I think Wizards just isn't the best company to work with to be honest ^^'
I don't know of any mmo's that use the same fighting system but if you want an mmo that is set in the same multiverse and features prominent characters, there is the Neverwinter free to play MMO!

It was my understanding that by Baldur's Gate 3 the Githyanki had hunted the Illithids down to the point where they only remained on Toril.
This is that type of game that if you're already into it, just playing it will absolutely enthrall you and leave you wondering where the fuck the hours went with a big smile like you got something back you haven't had in a while : *FUN*
Man, I had the game in Early Access on my laptop when it was first released but my computer is inferior and couldn't handle the environments after a certain point, so I waited until it was on console myself.
I got a soul coin early on. So I'm hoping for a madmax style segment.
Thank you so much, glad the video could help you out!
Elturel is a very good suggestion, I may do that.
Happy adventuring my friend!
The first time I went to the hells was in a planar sphere but that's a tale for another time.
I've never played dnd but all the baldurs gate 3 content makes me want to get bg3 and join a dnd campaign
Don't need to play D&D to get into it. I've been playing these Baldur's Gate games and similar RPGs since I was 13 and no one ever played D&D with me, but it taught me the lore and the world of the Forgotten realms and helped me expand my imagination.

Damn, i wish you talk about the GITHZERAI. They are my favorite people !
I know, they are awesome!

And then there's the elder brain dragon... fun stuff!
Super helpful. Makes it much easier while I venture further into BG3.
Glad I could help you out. Happy adventuring my friend!
Hey man, great job. I am just disappointed there are no beholders in this game. Eye tyrants are awesome villains!
Awesome job including Drizzt, love that character.
Drizzt got me into DnD lore years ago, absolute legend!
I NEVER thought I would play an RPG that plays like BG3. I took the leap with it on sale for 53 bucks and I regret nothing. I’m in it for the long haul.
It's really a unique system but lends itself to d&d so well! BG3 is definitely worth it and I'm happy you're enjoying it my friend!

In this Baldur's Gate you don't sadly. Certain games like Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate 2 let you visit other drow cities. Supposedly the Neverwinter MMO has it though.
Does anyone know if there's any lore connecting it to the dark alliance games for ps2/xbox?

Thank you! I know dnd but not the lore, so this help catch me up.
Happy to help! I know more about the lore than the practical side of dnd so figured I'd share this!
@@Doublezone yeah, and the fact that a lot of animals were from earth is amazing, and Ivory trading that was booming was because spelljammers were going to prehistoric earth before and after pangea era to hunt down ivory tusks, horns, etc was mind blowing too (IIRC, heard in passing ivory hunting was done on our earth due to the sheer abundance of it)
Its, how should I put it, too much, even for an experienced DM, there is just too much.
Thanks this is a great vid, especially during the Baldur’s Gate-gate

"Lore you "NEED" to know" -- 5 seconds in : "Topics you "MAY" want to know about". Make up your mind yo. Do I really need to know it as the clickbait title suggests, or is it just generic lore? :-)

You had me in the first half, not gonna lie.
