Just a note, camp supplies can be useful in the open world... for example I found a situation with a particular enemy on chapter 1, where an npc was drunk and sleep, if the player makes any noise, they wake up and treat you, but if you have alcohol in your inventory, you can give it to them by dialog and they go right back to sleep... as a mean to avoid the fight. So for that, I keep a few selected supplies at hand that may be useful, just in case.

Ty for this great video. I didn't know anything about D&D rules and terms, but after watching a few guide videos like this one i learned a lot to get me started.
Here is my tip: I cannot overstate how powerful the DIP bonus action is in the early game. You can dip your melee or ranged weapon in any surface, but mostly you will find fire in the game world. With this knowledge i blazed through the fights in act 1 with 2-3 of my characters having fire damage on their weapons which is a 1-4 extra damage on top of your attack rolls. A way you can have a PORTABLE fire source with you at any time is to get a candle on every character that uses weapons (that dont have elemental damage already). You will find many candles in crypts and dungeons in Act 1 in boxes or you can pick them up from furniture. In combat, go in your inventory and drop the candle, then light it (these two actions dont cost any action points), then dip your weapon in it (bonus action) then you can also attack. All in a single turn. If you keep your party together all your characters can dip their weapons in a single candle. BOOM now you have fire damage on weapons. Candles are not consumed and dont run out as long as you remember to pick them up after combat ends (i forgot them a few times XD).
This will increase your damage in all fights in the early game and later on you can specialise your elemental damage depending on enemy resistances and weaknesses by carrying various potions which you can toss on the ground creating an elemental puddle that your party can dip their weapons in.
Also remember to INSPECT enemies (T button) when you encounter a new enemy type to see what resistances / weaknesses they have. You can also see their armor class and monster type as well as other stats. No point in wasting time dipping weapons in fire if the enemy is fire resistant.
Double DIP your way to victory and have fun!

I tried this too at first, but being a person that RPs a lot (in my head) i always hold some nice RP items like jug of water, shovel, a nice looking gem, a book, lockpicks, ropes, a bottle of wine or something like that on my second row, so when i sort the inventory all those items go in other places. Then i have to drag all those items in row 2 and that is a pain in the ass. So for me that is not an option, again, personal choice to use RP items.
So another thing you can do is to keep a trash bag (satchel) on hand and just put all your trash items in it. When you are at a vendor just sell your trash bag and you also get the gold for the items too. Then you can buy back the bag from the vendor. This is a neat way to alternatively organize your trash loot if you dont want to click on every item and "add to wares". This will also help you if you reach your carry limit on a character by simply sending the trash bag to your camp chest and selling it later. You can also send the food in your camp bag back to camp to get rid of a few extra kgs/pounds.
It works out if you want to play more immersively as you can imagine yourself dumping a bag full of weapons on a merchant's stand and saying "It's a bag-o-weapons, about 50 kgs, how much can you give me for the lot?" and seeing the bewildered look on the merchant's face. XD

Tip on top of the tips (lol) for healing potion throwing - in the situation showed in the video, you could have thrown the potion on the ground for an Area of Effect (AoE) heal which would have healed your character AND Karlach as well. In your dual-wielding toggle section, one thing I've noticed most "do / don't do this to improve" videos I've watched don't cover is using bonus actions first to improve damage: hunter's mark and reapply hex being the primary that come to mind. If you use these bonus actions first the main action will benefit from the bonuses.

You can ice blood puddles the same as water. This is useful when fighting big enemies that leave massive puddles. Also, don't forget to use "speak to dead" if you have it. You don't really use it in the story, so might as well use it, specially if you get an item that allows for a free use. Use it on area bosses or more important characters for more lore development and sometimes helps progressing quests and gives you more dialog options with other characters. You can also ask them about any hidden loot in the area they ruled. Also, and this is VERY IMPORTANT, keep a look out for permanent buffs. There are ways to be blessed or get buffs (like permanent invisibility detection or permanent temporary hit points when low) that last even through long rests. They are found in the weirdest of places, so explore as much as you can (like, a BDSM session with a fanatic in a cave).
Also, don't worry about backlogging interactions with your party members in the long rest camp. If you are worried that some romance interactions are missed because other story events take place, don't worry. The game remembers them and will put them out as soon as it can. Sometimes they are delayed because you need to be outside of dungeon or things like that, but they don't go away.
ALSO, remember you can put the
*spoilers for the first 10h/15h of the game*
brain worms in your party members too, if you succeed in convincing them. This gives them the powers too. But, if you have it, don't use charm person for advantage on this checks on your party members. After it wears off, they will dislike it. You can also check how much they approve if you in the character sheet of the party member. In the last tab of the character sheet, scroll down to see exactly how much they like or dislike you.

If you hover a surface and the path line changes to a blue color that means that surface behaves like water, meaning you can freeze it or electrify it. A yellow color means difficult terrain and moving throught it costs the double movement distance, and a red color means the character is gonna receive damage if it walks there.

The Devs seem to assume you'll come to the game with a comprehensive knowledge of the board game.. And the tutorial for the game is pants, non existent.
Would like to see more of these in regards to actions/abilities/skills use for combat & other scenarios.
It's a pain the game doesn't have a glossary linked to everything giving a proper breakdown; so you know exactly what you're using & how best to use it. The game narrative being you're ment to know all this stuff, as its not like your character is a farm-hand new to it all & having to learn & discover.

There's something I'd like to add... if you have disguise self or seeming on, some of the dialogue is messed up when another party member is supposed to chime in. As a specific example I was doing the end of shadowheart's specific quest with seeming on so she didn't look like herself, and for some reason that didn't seem to affect a non-party-character's dialogue who addresses shadowheart directly, the dialogue for shadow heart's response comes up, but there's no audio and the camera points to some empty space, like it would normally cut to a close up of shadowheart, but she's not there and the dialogue continues as if she replied... there's even a dialogue option to let her speak, everyone reacts as if she were speaking but she's not.
so for important scenes like that, maybe turn buffs that disguise you off.

I think for me, my biggest frustration, the game doesn't explain anything. I have played lots of rpgs, shadowrun, m&m, vampire the masquerade, fallout lol, the list goes on, anyway, my point being, I have never had the chance to play dnd. I don't know what a cantrip is or how it works, I don't know why my spell all of a sudden isn't working? I see it says long rest or partial rest on some of them, but, then when I use some spells it will block out other spells I didn't know it would block out all of a sudden? I just changed to warlock from sorcerer, I had no idea how to use the metamagic, they never seemed to work? Or I just didn't understand how they worked? They said passive, but seemed to not have much of an effect if any, I had no idea if I had even cast it properly?
What I'm trying to say is, I am really liking the game, I just think they forgot the tutorial or helpful hints for people who may not know certain things. It reminds me of a few of my favorite gaming experiences, so, I really want to enjoy it, but, I hope that they put in a future patch sometimes to make it less frustrating for people like me who are new to the world itself. I would like to try playing a sorcerer again, but, for now i'll wait, plus, I don't hate my warlock at all, I do miss my dragon scale cheekbones though...those were cool.

Just a heads up, as far as I know, the save files are only about 8-32 MB per, so, it's not that bad, and they are stored on %localappdata%, so, if you record to a separate drive, then it literally does not matter. Have about 32 in total, totaling 465 MB.
You can also sym link this folder to a different drive if you want to have them stored somewhere else, LinkShellExtension, move the folder, right click it, pick as source, then go back to the regular location it should be at, and drop as junction.

Do not reduce the number of saves, I had to go back to an elderly save due to a bug that prevented me from moving the main quest along, but I did not realize until I put like 20h into trying to push the game forward by doing other quests until I realized I had a bugged state, if I did not have elderly save files I would have to start over.

With Reactions you made it sound like you only get one reaction per turn, even if you have more than one option. The way it works is that you can only use that type of reaction once each turn. So I will clarify...
So for example with Karlach, I can Reckless Attack (RA) on a Attack of Opportunity (AoO), thus using both. But if a second opponent would allow an AoO I would not be able to attack them or use my RA because they have already been used up. If I moved up and used RA on my attack, I would not be able to use if for my AoO. So if you moved up on your turn to get into range and didn't attack, you might as well use the RA on the AoO if it pops up because it will otherwise not be used. At that point, the only reason to not use RA would be because tactically you do not want the lowered AC for the foe if they attack you. But if you kill them before they can attack you the lowered AC is a moot point.
If you have Polearm Mastery, it does say you get a free AoO on enemies coming into range. I do not know if that means you can have more AoO than one, but it reads that you can because it does not use up your reaction (aka the free part). If it is free, PA Mastery and Sentinel would be very powerful together as you would be able to get free attacks from enemies you threaten (only once per enemy) and then get a AoO if they attack a friend in your range (again, only once). This would allow a AoO per enemy that triggers it via movement and one if they attack a friend (who also doesn't have Sentinel).
On the Throw Potion part, Potions are Area of Effect (AoE), although a very small area. So you could have thrown that heal potion to not only heal the downed guy, but heal yourself. If you cluster your party in a tight bunch, you could use a single potion to heal every party member. You can also do this with other potions, like Haste and Hill Giant Strength potions to give every member the effect. Do be warned, if you get a bad guy in the AoE, you will effect them with the potion. Nothing sucks more than accidently hitting the bad guy with a healing potion. Also remember that a character can only be under the effect of a single potion at a time.
    Hope this helps folks...

    RE: Inspiration Point Caution
They're a reward for good roleplaying, and are very very useful ... but with one notable exception where using them too much can screw you. I'm referring to Lae'zel using the cleansing chair in the creche ... in that situ, using inspiration points to repeatedly overcome blown high-difficulty rolls can result in permanent brain damage and a permanent nerf of the character doing it.
THAT is the only situ i can think of where using inspiration points can be really really BAD. (I rolled mega hot and awakened my parasites without any inspiration points needed).

How do you get the pouches/backpacks to work? The game doesn't allow me to put anything in pouches or backpacks or whatever to keep my inventory organized. I can select all, like alchemy ingredients and add them to my bag, then close out inventory and open it again and they are all out of the bag again. I can't add bags to the hot bar either. Is this something that the recent patch changed or maybe the patch messed it up? It doesn't work on companions either. Some items seem to be character specific. Like if I buy something on a character I can sometimes add it to a bag they originally came with, but if I give that same item to another character, they cannot add it to their own bag.
I think my carry item weight is broken also. If you steal stuff, do those items show in your inventory and can you sell them to whoever you want? Or do you have to sell them to a fence? Because my inventory acts like it's full and I can't carry any more items, when it's actually empty. So I thought maybe stolen items don't show up in the inventory. I haven't come across anything that says this though.
Want to add that i cannot do the custom stuff either. I can put stuff in there but then they are removed later. That happens on all characters.
