It’s also important to keep in mind when you mention the war between demons and devils, the difference between them. Devils are lawful evil, so they work with contracts to trade in mortal souls, and they’re generally human-like with horns, like the classical depiction of the devil, whereas demons are chaotic evil and more monster-like in appearance, they don’t deal in contracts and are more prone to carnage
In my custom campaign I am running my party has the option to go fight Zariel, I'm running a very custom Descent into Avernus. The whole campaign is on the channel
Thanks for the quick primer into the default world state at the beginning of chapter one. You did a fantastic job with the pacing and delivery of each bit, and it was a pleasure to listen to.
I'm not sure Vlaakith is technically a goddess. She definitely wants to ascend to godhood, but the Githyanki due to their enslavement by the Illithids refuse to recognize any god since they view that as a form of enslavement, so that stops her from outright attaining godhood.
@@TheNathanNAPALM She doesn't grant any powers or answer prayers, which a deity would have to do. She is definitely held in reverence by her followers, but is not actively worshiped except by a very small group of Githyanki; unless that has changed very recently.
I think Wizards retconned some of the Bhaal absorbed in the lore. Like there is the comic also where Minsc even get's stoned. I think it could be cool to see some like Sarevok and Almessya in BG3 some form or an other. Oh yeah Bhaal also banged a Dragon because one of he's Children was a Black Dragon.
the githzerai arent apposed to fighting the illithids. the two (githyanki and githzerai) used to be slaves of the illithids and everything you had said but after they escaped slavery and destroyed the illithids civilization and capability to enslave anyone else for the time being the two dissagreed on the whole genocide thing and fought a civil war where afterwards became the two separate factions yanki wanting to completely annihilate them and the zerai who thought they cant do us anymore harm yet but everyone should have the option to change. basically both lawful but yanki being evil and zerai being neutral. also a big part for the zerai was that now that they had freedom they could explore the possibilities the universe had to offer.
Yes..right... thats the overall story of the Githyanki and the Githzerai (which once called themselves "The People") one thing that im bummed is that Larian didnt include a Githzerai subclass... but okk.... it is what it is i guess.

I have a theory that the dark urge origin is connected to Bhaal, or even the Bhaalspawn that you play as in BG 1 and 2, especially if their ascension is considered canon. I can't say for certain if this is the case, but the powerful compulsion to kill that the dark urge has is a very big hint in my eyes.
Okay I saw Minsc in there,I may try this again,I bought it a couple of years ago the characters made me cringe and the Divinity style combat I disliked, but if I see other "Baldur's gate " characters I'll keep playing maybe.
Jahiera is confirmed to be in the game as well. I'm hoping to see Viconia since Shadowheart worships the same goddess, but most other original series companions would be dead by this point since it's around 120 years later.
Just a friendly criticism regarding editing. I cant concentrate because theres so much happening on screen, constant videos and pictures playing over wach other. It would be easier to follow if there was less on screen
A video like this should be IN the game. I am Act 3 now and i still get nothing. Noone seems to be good. nothing is clear. a "smaller story" without 10 gods and 15 factions would have been far better.
@@TheNathanNAPALM Vlaakith has not risen to godhood yet AFAIK (unless happening in the game), however she is a powerful lich and seemingly in BG3 able to grant spells to her clerics.
No. The Dark Urge has been around since before the events of the Murder in Baldur's Gate tabletop game. Bhaal officially returned from the dead after that tabletop game.
@@cooller8888 In that tabletop game, the last two children of the dead lord of murder who somehow lived more than 100 years later after Baldur's Gate 2 Throne of Bhaal, despite the both of them being human, killed each other, and the adventure is about trying to find out who is the Herald of Bhaal.

Great addition! Thank you!
Thanks. I don't know very much about D&D or Baldur's Gate. I made a drow half-elf and everyone was so mean to me and I didn't know why.
For any that don't know, D&D 5E actually has a campaign called Descent Into Avernus, where your party actually ends up facing Zariel. Really cool.

You're very welcome! Hoping it helps people immerse themselves in the Forgotten Realms in BG3
Played through BG1 years ago, can’t wait for BG3. Thanks for this primer, very well done!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
Thank you for making this. Ive been quite interested in BG3 and it helps to get a nice lore refresher.
Glad I could help!
My man this is exactly what I needed
Glad to hear!!
Nice. You did a good job of explaining the stuff I was wondering about as someone who doesn't know any DnD lore.

ty. Never played any baldur's gate games until the 3rd one.
Thanks a lot for this man!

Keep the BG3 vids coming 🙏🏻
Will do! Glad you enjoy them!

This is my top contender for GOTY. Sounds like its gonna be a good game so far.
I’m so excited and we are ALMOST there!
IT already is the GOTY year has to finish to give it.
Nice video mate! Super concise and informative!
Glad you liked it!
Appreciated. I haven't played BG2 since I was in my twenties.....some time ago :D

The goblin butler is basicly a rip offnof bhaals butler from bg2 throne of bhaal game the imp.

Would you do a video detailing each god available to clerics?

I live in South Carolina.... your accent reminds me of alot of people around here.
I did live in that area for a big portion of my life
Very cool that Kyle Chandler narrates baldur’s gate 3 lore videos
...
I know the whole campaign setting lore, I have read many of the books. One of the best fantasy settings out there..
Agreed
Would be so cool if you talked us more about the Githzerai ! i was sad no to see them in the game.
I'm down for doing a full Gith video and covering it more in depth!
I love this game soooo much
Great stuff
Great vid Ty
Thank you!
6:51 So that's how the Dark Urge thing fits in? I'm hearing at the end you might become a dark god with that origin
Thanks.

I can't with Ball's impregnation of mortal women with his seed.
It's a great overview, but if I'd like to know more is there a book or something?
It’s just based on D&D 5e, so technically there are many books
So to learn about BG3 lore is there any books or content to read from or is the BG3 wiki the best way ?
Any D&D 5e lore is also the lore of BG3 if that helps
What's the lore on Bear shagging?
Druids be known to do a bit of that, they are known as Beastbangers
Beastbanger? Who told you my college nickname?
Lol

About 125 years!

The flashing background is quite distracting
No spoilers? In the first 30 seconds you show like 30 spoilers xD.
Dramatic. This footage was straight from their trailer prior to release
Fun fact: you don't NEED to know this before playing the game!
