    Hiya, Fire from Sun&Moon here.
    Thank you so much for your very thorough and detailed review! I'm glad you're enjoying it and your hood is lovely! Julien running a test laundromat is just pure Poetry (he's a favorite test subject of ours lol), poor guy can't escape the laundry, ever.
    I see you had a few questions so I'll do my best to clarify those points:
    Laundry Spawns: The reason laundry doesn't always spawn is because there's a lil hygiene check in the mod. When hygiene is above 75% they won't spawn a pile. This makes the never-ending stream of laundry just a little bit more manageable. Furthermore, the outfit your sims changes in and out of are factors as well. Certain (custom) supernatural life states may also have some modified spawn rates...
    Laundry machine sounds: sound effects are always a bit challenging to get right, especially with timing. Improving the sounds, though not a priority, is on the (laundry) list and might be tackled at some point.
    Laundry detergent restocking: working on it! It'll be included in the next update for sure.
    Medieval "laundromat mode": not currently a thing. Unfortunately OFB code is pretty tough, so if this ever becomes a thing, it'll take quite some time to develop and for now I'd like to focus on a few other projects.
    Amount of stuff needed (soap, water, loads): who knows, I might make some things user-tuneable in the future... No promises though. I have tons of ideas and not all of them made it into the mod seeing as 1.5 years of development was getting a bit too crazy long lol
    I'll be sure to post an announcement once the next update is live. Thank you so much for noticing and reporting these bugs!

      Thank you so much for answering a few of those questions I had! Especially re: the laundry spawns because I was quite confused about that, but it definitely makes a lot of sense :) I was super impressed that the mod came with any sounds at all tbh, I know that adding sound to mods is something not many modders even attempt!!
      Medieval "laundromat mode" definitely isn't something I feel like I desperately need so we're okay there.
      Tunability is always helpful but I can imagine it is really complicated to include. No rush. 1.5 YEARS of work... my goodness! You guys are amazing!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

      Your mod is great! I've really enjoyed to play with it. If I can give you one tip: I think it could be nicer to have the option to put the clean clothes back into the wardrobe. It could be also nice to have the possibility to grab the dirty clothes on the ground from any angle. For the rest I can only say that I love this mod! It's so well done!

      Edited because I was able to fix the previous hurdle. Now one last thing that is bother me is the CANDLE VENDOR and TIERED MARKET DISPLAY COMPARTMENTS...
      They are a blue texture in buy mode, they are blue when place, and live mode. They are usable, but they are blue.(I've looked and most likely it's a master mesh missing or something?) Could anyone please help me out with this one?

I updated one thing, and half my things turned blue...turned out, I missed the Cask Shelf update, and EVERYTHING is now being linked to the cask shelf for the colors, which is GENIUS, but traumatizes you when you missed the latest recolors of the shelf and all of your favorite things turn blue. :) I just had to check over the Tumblr to make sure I was up to date.

    Wow, what a cool mod! Although not one I'd pick out personally, mostly because I just found the whole laundry pile system in ts3 pretty annoying, it looks really well made and fun to play with if that's your jam. Really cool video concept too! I'd love to see more of these :) Perhaps some of the mods from Pick 'n' Mix would be fun too to take a closer look at: I recently learned about a "learning to drive" mod on there for example that looks pretty complex but cool.

I definitely felt that this mod wouldn't be for everyone; I probably won't use it in all of my towns / save files but I thought it was just such an impressive accomplishment for a mod. I've actually got the "learning to drive" mod downloaded and have started fiddling with it, so yeah I could definitely have a go at reviewing that soon! x

    Absolutely love this mod, it is so real-life. Yes, a family of 4 would generate enough laundry, to justify having to do laundry daily. Same as in real life. 😒😆 I prefer the washing tubs and the wringer washer one, as your Sim has to "work" to get the laundry. The wringer washer (1940s, 50s) style, has one extra step after it animates the washing cycle. You have to come back to wring out the laundry. Again, that real-life element, chore added to it. It reminds me of my mom using a wringer washer, when I was young. I believe if I recall correctly, with the line-dried clothing, it takes about 2 Sim hours for the clothing to dry. If you leave wet laundry on the floor or put it back in the hampers, it will create a puddle, which will need mopping up. Yikes, more chores. haha. 😏😅 All of which makes it an outstanding CC mod. Fire and the team at Sun&Moon did a superb job on it. As with a lot of Sun&Moon mods, they add those extra touches of real life to your Sims 2 gameplay. I can't wait to see what other CC mods the Sun&Moon team come up with next. Great review as always. 😊

    Awesome review! One work-around for Sims not being able to afford all the soap might be to adjust the soap price since I think that's probably possible with SimPE. Just an idea. My Sims are still in survival stage so laundry would be too much for them but this is still so friggin cool!

    • @TeaAddict
      @TeaAddict  2 года назад +1

      Yes this is a great idea! I thought of it while I was editing the video and went, "huh, I probably should have mentioned that it would be easy enough to do that" 😅😅 But yeah I'm thinking I'll make the medieval soap cost about $2 simoleons if I can, that will really help!

    • @flaming-chickens
      @flaming-chickens 2 года назад +1

      Yup, you can adjust the price of the object itself, but you can also crack open the vendor and modify the price in the BCON named "Tuning - Pricing". It's all clearly labeled. Once you're satisfied, press commit and save your package.

    Thanks so much for making this video! I really wanted to see it in action before downloading it because I do like how the Lazy Duchess one works. Is there any benefit to washing and drying clothes? In the one I’m currently using, washing makes hygiene decay slower and drying makes comfort decay slower for a little bit and I really like that. But I absolutely love the trait support, the washing piles and the fact that sims aren’t locked to the interaction whilst their clothes wash/dry. I agree with your tuning preferences, I wonder what is tunable in the bcons so far. I’m also interested in the toddlers on community lots mod you mentioned, I use a mod called ‘Allow Puppy Kitten Toddler Riders’ and I’m not sure if that has all the same functionality or not, thanks!

    • @flaming-chickens
      @flaming-chickens 2 года назад +1

      Heya belladovah, you can use both ours and lazy duchess' washers and dryers. As for benefits, changing into an outfit using the fresh clothes gives your sim a tiny boost to comfort, so there are some. It doesn't affect motive decay though, as that is a thing added by FT and thus not MAC-compatible.
      As for BCON-tuning, there are a few things you can tune at this moment:
      - Vendor prices
      - Washer and dryer: time out controller (how long until a non-selectable will use the machine again), two BCON's that determine how factors like traits, interests and personality influences if a sim will decide to wash their stuff at the laundromat or not and of course: breakage chances

    • @TeaAddict
      @TeaAddict  2 года назад +1

      Hey Bella! You're welcome :) There's not really a reward for washing / drying clothes like the LD mod. Clean clothes turn into those single-use "fresh outfits" that you can use as a one-time dresser, but they don't improve hygiene no. Also yeah that's the mod I have for the toddlers on comm lots :)

      Hey! Sorry I saw this comment the other day and forgot to reply!! - the bed here is from the Campagne set, which is a huge furniture superset you can download here: sims2artists.com/index.php?board=362.0 You need to make sure to get the master objects for the set to work, which are the set's dresser, as well as the Jonesi blanket. Any other items will be slaved to those, so all recolours for your dresser / Jonesi blanket will apply to the Campagne set. Hope that makes sense, if not feel free to pop into my Discord and I can help you out further with the download 😇
