Tip for making sure you resize/move your lot of the right amount: make a note in the lot name! For example, when I want to shrink my “Wild cottage” lot by 5 tiles from Left and Right and by 10 tiles from the Back, I’ll rename it “Wild Corttage -5LR -10B”. This way you can see it directly when you open LotAdjuster! Hope it helps

This video is awesome! I started to play the sims 2 again and your videos are helping me a lot to rebuild the game 💗 can you show us with more detail how do you make the lot on the beach? Looks amazing ✨

You can even add modded objects to allow fishing so it looks like sims are fishing in the water!
Thanks for all the tea on lot adjuster Tea!😆 This was really informative and helpful, I've learned a lot. I've only dabbled with Lot Adjuster in a basic way, and pretty much just to make lots bigger, and I've always found the lot elevation and lot edges settings to be such trial and error - ended up with far too wonky lots and far too flattened lots haha! I've never moved a lot off a road before and you've made some absolutely stunning things by doing that. Seeing your medieval hood really makes me miss watching your streams - I mostly blame daylight savings so I hope to start catching more again soon! The stuff you've done with the mining and cave lots built into the side like that is incredible.
Aw thanks so much Gabby! Definitely tricky to get the lot elevation and lot edges settings right, I still mess that up sometimes haha. Great video, this was really interesting to watch. You have some amazing looking and creative builds in your game! 😍❤ Really loving your tutorials in general, you explain things very clearly. 😊 And happy I got to see your quarry/mining lot! 😄 It looks absolutely beautiful. ❤ I recently moved the portals on my settlement lot and it was so good to finally see them walking out of the lot instead of into the fence. 😂 Watching this video reminded me that there is one thing I would like to do, but it seems impossible: having a different road in certain subhoods, than the roads used in the main hood. So far, I think that is impossible, since road defaults apply to the entire neighborhood. Have you ever tried to do something like that?
Hey! So glad you liked the video 🥰 and yes my mining lot was 1000% inspired by yours haha!! I think the road thing is possible using SimPE but I'm not an expert. Lord Crumps in our discord might be able to help you out with that if you like? One thing you can do is set road type per terrain type. You can't add actual roads to TS2 after the fact UNLESS you use a different little tool call hood replace, which I might do another tutorial on in the future 😉 but you can download decorative roads and add them, and then use lot adjuster to make it look like your lots sit on the decorative roads 😊

@@TeaAddict I tried leaving a direct link, then just the name of the site, but YT didn't allow either. If you search for the name, you'll find it easily enough.
@@TeaAddict update: we can but pedestrians will walk though walls if the distance between the portals is too big 😁 I tried to put two opposite directions for the cars and it looks like drive-by cars go only one way and the playable cars go another
Does the lot adjustment also works if we want to remove lot? I want to remove (destroy) lot i've been build (just build it, no sims lives there yet) and build a fresh start. Can i use this too or there is another way to do it?
I tried this on my lot but I can't add a roof to any room I've placed where I expanded my lot, which is really strange. It's tells me that it can't support the weight. I'm able to add a roof to rooms made on the original lot tiles, though, but where it was expanded it doesn't seem to register the second floor at all. Any ideas?
@@_swesters_ so you expanded the lot? Or shrunk it? You can't place a roof that's 1-tile in from the edge of the lot after you've shrunk it, only before? Otherwise try hitting the "flatten lot" button in terrain tools, sometimes when you use lot adjuster it can think that the lot is uneven when it's actually not?
@TeaAddict I've expanded the lot. If I add any rooms on the expanded tiles, it won't allow me to add a roof. It tells me that it can't support the weight, and there is no grid for the roof in the first place. I've tried redoing the process a couple of times all with the same results, and tried some of the other options in lot adjuster like flatten lot edges, update neighborhood terrain elevation, as well as the default. I tried the flatten lot option in game as well and it doesn't help either. Occasionally it'll give me only a few grid tiles but not enough for a full roof. Auto roof apparently works though? But I'm trying to do a greenhouse, so I can't use that. I can't find anyone talking about this issue so I'm pretty confused. Oh and I have tried constrainfloorelevation false, which someone recommended, but it doesn't change anything.
@@_swesters_ when you set constrainfloorelevation false, level out beneath your walls and above your walls - like drag it from one corner to the other of the room. If that doesnt work, use floor tiles and create a roof of flooring, then put on your greenhouse roof, then delete the floor tiles. Let me know if that works. I would show you a picture if I could
Do you know if this can be used on beach lots?? I'm creating a custom neighborhood, but I can't place downloaded lots. They don't "fit" on the terrain. I was wondering if there's any kind of mod that fix beach lots
I'm having a consistent issue with the neighborhood view. The loaded lot looks fine, but the build in hood view is off and clipping with builds next to it. What may be causing this and how do I stop it from happening?
@@robertsimpson9010 make a small structural change on the lot, save, exit to neighbourhood - something like adding a wall or fence - then go back in and undo it if you want to and see if that fixes it

Can we jam several pedestrian portals on one lot or only 1-entrance and 1-exit? 😮😍
I haven't messed with them that much, you could always test it out in a test hood!
@@TeaAddict update: we can but pedestrians will walk though walls if the distance between the portals is too big 😁 I tried to put two opposite directions for the cars and it looks like drive-by cars go only one way and the playable cars go another
@@hellofwinnie oh interesting!! Haha fun testing good on you
Can you place the portals diagonally? 🤔
Also those swamp houses are amazing 😍
I would imagine the pedestrian portals could go diagonally but the car ones might go a little funky 😅
@@robertsimpson9010 make a small structural change on the lot, save, exit to neighbourhood - something like adding a wall or fence - then go back in and undo it if you want to and see if that fixes it
@@TeaAddict WOW I wish I asked earlier. I would have saved myself SO much time tonight! THANK YOU!
@@robertsimpson9010 haha no worries at all, I probably should have mentioned it in the video if I didn't 😅😅 when you use Lot Adjuster it does tell you to do it too but I often forget 🤣
How does your computer handle a lot of cc without crushing ?
It doesn't 😂
If I was EA I would keep this game alive. Imagine a remaster/remake of TS2 Complete Collection and the announcement of a brand new expansion pack lie Superstar, Makin Magic, Farming... Idk but It would be so cool, if we keep playing these games why not have them updated? I don't want what they made to TS4, but..
@@Windenberg me too!! That would be amazing
Idk why i didn't think to create a folder for my sims 2 tools. I just dump them individually in my "games" folder
I got the idea off someone else too! Before that mine were just floating around lol
