So sad that Hannah didn't learn to walk. It frustrates me that learning or not learning the toddler skills doesn't makes a difference in the game mechanic. Also like that Hannah and Georgie could be lifelong friends, but maybe it is not something her parents would like. The Broke household is probably not good enough for the Berbs.

I like that "you can play red hands with your wife to get your fun up" is not a euphemism 😆Hope that you get rid of those routing problem stairs when you renovate and also maybe get a second shower. Maybe get those clothes off the line also before the snow comes? Love your work!

I am a big Sims 2-fan and I found this series when I was looking for new challenges for myself. I am actually prepping for å apocalypse challenge, but this also looks fun (and not as long). I really like the traits you brought from sims 3, it gives the game more dynamic for storytelling. Cool idea also to get the young adults to study from home, I look forward to see that! In my games I have actually almost never played with mods, but maybe I should sample a few. Watching you play I also kind of want to film some of my gameplay, but it is probably much harder and challenging than you make it seem like. Also not sure if I could be able to speak english and play at the same time, since my mother tongue is actually Norwegian. While I waited for more episodes in this series I actually started watching your Pleasantview + Bluewater Village Play Through, it has been so much fun! I have watched almost the whole series now. I kind of wanted it to last longer, at least for some families, but I guess everything has to come to an end. Totally understandable that you want to change things up and do different things. I also completely understand that you have a lot of your own life going on right now, we will be here looking forward to your content when you feel up to that again. First I was thinking that there would be no point in writing comments, since it is so long since you finished it, but after seeing how happy you still get from the newer comments I will start to share my ideas!

Yay, I am finally caught up! And aw, I might be biased but don't think the Ottomas twins came out too bad, they are kinda cute and will grow into those faces xD! Poor Dora, she will be missed for sure. Hilarious that Sharla cried over his death while Peter just stood there, hahaha. This is where the family gets reeeeeeeeally hard imo, but keeping David around might make things a little easier.

The pure unadulterated horror I experience when I log in after an update or such and realize my mods have been disabled, makes me realize I might have a bit of a problem with mod addiction. I don’t even think I could function in game.

Ha ha, I also constantly get surprised by random inventory being stored on my shelves. I try to remember to set storage rules straightaway when I place the initial blueprint, and link them to existing groups as needed. But there's always a shelf that slips under the radar, and next thing I'm wondering how a pawn on a binge or tantrum got to my luciferium. >.>

I'm a month late to this episode, but I learned a great (cheesy) way to protect cooler units from being attacked by raiders (b/c that's how they often break into my buildings). You can build an internal chimney of course -- a small enclosed room with no roof, and vent the coolers into the chimney. But every doorway itself actually counts as a separate room (hat tip to AdamVsEverythiing), so your smallest chimney is a door with a cooler attached to it (red exhaust square placed directly on the door). That's all! No unroofing required, door can work closed or held open, and up to 3 coolers can be attached this way. One side of the door needs to not have a cooler, but apparently it CAN sit flush against a solid wall. Now I can just throw these into the corner of any room, or even place the door and hold it open behind a normal entry/exit door, with 2 coolers. Then in case of raid, close the cooler door for a double door defense. I know, I know, we're not here to min-max. XD

I've watched maybe half a dozen Sims YT videos over the years, though I played the heck out of the first 3 Sims 15-20 years ago. But I have to sheepishly admit I have 4200+ hrs in Rimworld, and I put on various RW creators' videos on in the background when I work. That's a bunch of unnecessary background to say that I loved your machinima intro! It's unique to me for being the first Sim-RW crossover I've ever seen. A lot of vocal RW commenters seem to aggressively focus on min-maxing the game. I think the game's quantified and mechanistic style lends itself to players' risk aversion. We want consistent hoarding and to make line go up. Doesn't matter what we're measuring -- human leather dusters, colony pawns, simple meals in the freezer, etc. I'll admit my natural tendencies make me that kind of RW player. But after all my hours in RW, min-maxing the same killbox base with tough psychopath pawns in cataphract armor every time is booooring. From Pete as well as AdamVsEverything, Samuel Streamer / Roll1d2, and many others, I like to see how different people approach the game. And if I want different in such a mechanistic game, then that means not min-maxing. Or at least voluntarily taking on various sets of gameplay parameters or restrictions which require a DIFFERENT kind of min-maxing. I'm currently struggling with a "no mental breaks permitted" game (250% threat with no mood handicap bonus) right now and the focus on comfort and luxury is pretty tough (and also having to sustain pawn addictions b/c I can't allow them to go into withdrawal for the mood hit :( ). Your modlist tells me you defo have spent enough time to poke around the workshop top favorites and pick out your own list! Not sure how beastly your PC is, but Common Sense takes up more CPU overhead than vanilla (as any mod with calculation requirements will do). That may slow down your mid-late game. I've found it's manageable to just plan my base and work schedules/areas out a bit more simply and robustly, as an alternative to running Common Sense (it's a great mod though, for smaller games). Same goes for Door Mats. I used this one for a long time, but then I learned to simply assign more pawns to cleaning. Not sure that "more pawns for cleaning" is less processing overhead than "simple modded furniture item that reduces filth". :P But it's all just choices we can each make, and we each just choose the ones that make us happy. There are so many cool little mods that make tiny changes to QoL or game balance/mechanics that I have to think really hard about which ones provide enough unique gameplay value within my CPU and stability budget. Mod conflicts are a pain -- the 1.5 update forced me to review everything from scratch, and my current modlist is now embarrassingly (for a RW addict) down to under 100 mods from the previous bloated 370 mods I used to run... x.X That said, Mortar Accuracy is totes worth it! I love that mod. Snap Out! is great, too (though in my previous recent runs I forewent it in favor of using the vanilla expedient measure of unarmed beating my mental break pawns into submission. I even built a back alley space behind my dining hall for a fight club, complete with dumpsters and cars). Otherwise I'm assuming you won't go super combat heavy. If you were, there are some similarly lightweight near-vanilla mods that adjust the vanilla combat balance so that your pawns don't spray the landscape with bullets while trying to kill a manhunter boomrat at a range of 5 cells. :P With your Sims background and choice to use facial animations, there are some really cool pawn psychology and romance mods I think you might like. 1-2-3 Personalities M1, M2, and maybe eventually M3 is a neat rework of how pawns think and feel. The 1-2-3 Personalities mods also have several sub-mods that provide lenses for pawn personality types -- Enneagrams, 16 Personalities, Anime character archetypes, RPG alignments. :D I wish I could say more about it, but it hasn't been compatible with my other current mods, so I'm itching to start a new run focused on more fleshed out pawn interactions, relationships, and personalities. There are also some romance mods. Not sure which ones are still current (just because a mod has had its version number updated to 1.5 doesn't mean it's 100% compatible/functional any more, I've found). Looks like Romance on the Rim is current. If it still works 100%, it's pretty neat. There are also Romance Tweaks, Less Stupid Romance Attempt, and Gradual Romance. And of course, the big gorilla Vanilla Expanded has a Social Interactions mod. Either Romance on the Rim or Social Interactions would help to bring a little more Sims into your Rimworld play, if that's something you or your viewers might enjoy. There's also the infamous non-Steam mod RimJobWorld, but... well. It's a little too much woo-hoo for family friendly Sims content. Though vanilla Rimworld war crimes are also a bit too much for family friendly Sims content. :D Anyway, I'm excited to see such a different initial premise for a RW start! Please don't take any of my unsolicited comments as any kind of criticism or pressure -- you can take them or leave them. Hopefully I'll see you in future comments as I catch up with your episodes!

Oooo can't wait for a baby! Seems like the Empire is good to have on their side. I was wondering, do you think it would be possible to play this game in a way where you don't hunt harmless creatures, even if its challenging? It wouldn't put me off playing, like I'd sparingly hunt in Skyrim with survival mods for example, but if it is possible to play like that in a game then I'm always up for the challenge! :)

I increased back tiles by 10 but i didnt like it so i decreased it to 5 instead and added 5 tiles to the front. When i loaded the game, the pool that i had on the backyard appeared glitchy(?). I removed the pool and now i have a see through ground😭 cant put tiles on it but can put objects

i'm addicted to this series! a dog and a cat is crazy, if you can get through PJ and Harry's toddler skills you're golden. Also excited to see how that "uni at home" mod works.

I saw this was posted just as I was going to bed so i had to wait until today to watch. This is my favourite series. Yes, that is the way it works with the headmaster. This is why I gave Dora elixer. I think if someone has earned it that it fits in with hard mode. Good old gosubtree. At least its one error we all know. Peter does not normally get cheating wants. Sure if you push it I am sure he will, but he has a name for being faithful and just being happy dating his wife.

I live in Mexico and it's super common to live at home while studying university. It's actually pretty rare to move into a dorm or to have the whole fraternity/sorority experience. A lot of people even graduate and start working while still living at home. I love using the college megapack mods as well because I like to play my families all together for longer, rather than having them move out and start fending for themselves when they're really young.

A few further comments... I can definitely see Romance Aspiration for Sharla. It has big "I spent my childhood taking care of my three younger brothers and I plan to spend the rest of my life hanging out with hot adults in spaces where children aren't even ALLOWED" vibes. Speaking of Sharla, she begins the game with three skill points: 1 Cooking, 1 Logic, and 1 Cleaning. I propose a new rule for deaths: a death of any kind is -1 point, UNLESS it's an Elder who dies of old age in Gold or Platinum aspiration. Gold gives 0 points, Platinum gives +1 point because they died perfectly fulfilled in life.
