Visiting Glacier National Park was part of this trip we wouldn't want to miss; however, two things on the days we were there were things that some would let ruin their trip. We chose to see them as part of the journey.
First, it was off and on rain with drizzle in between, and the other was Going to the sun road. I guess any road construction that can be done during the shoulder season is done during the shoulder season so that traffic isn't impaired during the summer months. We were there late in September, and many of the campgrounds and the lodge were closed.
Going to the sun road was mostly mud. Big machinery was parked in every turnout. We had no intention of going the length of Going to the sun road. We weren't in a race around the muddy road, so there were times we had quite a few cars behind us. We would have pulled off to let people pass, but there were no places to pull off.
We could have let the wet conditions and the road conditions ruin our day, but we don't travel that way. It's all part of the journey. We thought the van had been muddy before. Now we knew what a muddy van looked like.
Lake MacDonald was crystal clear and gorgeous. We walked around the edge of the water. It was one of the highlights of Glacier National Park. It's a place we may return to.

I finally looked ya'll up. We saw your trailer in Dawson Creek and then again in Fairbanks. Thanks for your hard work with the young generation.

I loved when she said, "It made me cold and I just heard about it!" A true Texan. Thanks for that laugh...I needed it.❤

Great video. We were there on September 26. Went down that same muddy road. You are right, it was terrible. But the scenery was beautiful,

We would much rather see setbacks as part of the journey rather than things that ruin our day or our trip.

So are there any Glaciers left?

There are glaciers still in the park, but that number is shrinking. See the National Park Service's Glacier page for more information about the glaciers in the park, and how to see them. They aren't as visible as the ones in Grand Teton National Park.
