You got it!! What a great comment! I witnessed these shows live. Lucky enough to have been alive back then and a huge Sweet fan.Buffalo- ‘76. Philly’76- Conn.’77- Hardford -‘78. As a trio in Jersey ‘79. Then as a duo and finally just Andy in NYC in which I left heartbroken. But D’genaration kicked major ass that night. The mantle had been passed. Some things should die when it’s time. For it was not just a name of a band. It was the four guys I knew and loved.

@@seamus2112ophelan It belongs the TV station Radio Bremen, part of our ARD.
They had a music show for adults in their twenties and thirties. You know, bearded guys which always looked bored, never applaused; all that crap. I watched it in my teems, but disliked it; it was very late; too, started at 10.15 pm and I knew I would be awful tired next day. Most acts were not interesting, it was for older people.
This show produced it. But they never showed it on TV, since they had made faults while filming the concert. Sweet had sent which microphones etc would be needed; they only brought a part of the necessary stuff when the name cone on stage. They did not take them for a serious band and thought Sweet was 'just a teen band',, while they felt as if they would be something great, more than a music show for teens.
It was a very bad mood in the studio, so it never aired. I think Andy Scott found it oer coincidence in the archive while searching for stuff for a DVD. And he first thought:" oh no, not this. You cannot show this to anybody'.
But then he started to look into the show and saw what a gem had come back to live.
I must say it only was huge luck it still was there. Maybe if it ever had aired it would be gone, but it was forgotten that way.
Many old treasures are forever lost. Not only from our old children's TV, for example- they cut parts for a second TV show and afterwards threw all in the litter- they even have deleted stuff to film new on the old tape. Believe it or not, when an old music show was complete destroyed ( it aired for years in the sixties), even a show in the studio by the Beatles was deleted. Destroyed forever, only because they filmed new stuff on the tapes.

A most impressive live performance, many of the other videos I’ve watched have the band lip syncing which is a terrible shame because this clearly demonstrates how talented they were both as musicians and vocalists. The guitar wasn’t always front and center of their sound but Andy Scott shows that he is quite a capable and accomplished guitarist. I love the prog rock elements in this song. And as always their sound is underpinned by the rhythm section, Mick Tucker’s percussion here doesn’t take a backseat to any of his peers.

This is when 4 masterminds get together and there is no stopping them for a decade. Sweet made my life worth living when I was a kid and I remember my first copy of the American version of Desolation Boulevard in 1989. It was so happy a year and that year Sweet helped me so much. I was 13 then. 10 years later I found out my biggest hero Brian was dead. I was mortified. I still am and then Mick. Basically, Sweet for me is like Badfinger for me- their musical genius lives on despite ill advised life decisions and mortality, but it leaves me with a lot of grief to think they are no longer around. Rest In peace Brian Connolly and Mick Tucker may your music be with us forever.

Wow oh wow. Growing up in America, I had known Sweet mainly as a name scrolling by on ads for K-Tel hit compilation albums, for songs like "Little Willy." It's only in the past year or so that I've learned about the other sides of Sweet through the power of RUclips videos such as this. This is the band Sweet saw when they looked at themselves in the mirror: songs that rocked, showed off their musical versatility, and yet were still catchy and full of hooks. Great stuff.

Hi there! I´m from Finland. Are you still living in America? I heard Sweet, when I was a child, but today I have been listening to Sweet every day because this fantastic RUclips gave me that chance!!!! Please, listen to Sweet best songs, like The Six Teens, Solid Gold Brass, No You Don´t, Fever of Love, Teenage Rampage, Blockbuster etc. And tell me after listening, what did you like? And of course, I listen to Funny Funny every morning, especially, when I am sad. What´s the weather like in America? Here in Finland is a cold and rainy.....so sad....

One of the best classic rock songs ever and (of course) it was never played even once on American radio. All we got was the same old shit over and over and over till we wanted to fucking puke. Forget the fact there were bands like The Sweet who were mega talents, all we got was the top 20 bullshit on American radio growing up. There a lot of videos on RUclips where whey just mimed their performances but to see these guys play TRULY live, just blows you away!
