Btw, NAC should NOT be taken long term without its cofactors :
    Molybdenum
    Selenium
    Zinc
    Vit B6
NAC doses typically avbl in 500mg or above by most vendors are without research. Cysteine was neve meant to be consumed in mega doses relative to other aminos... , but only in nominal amounts.
I do NOT take NAC , but focus on activating transsulfuration pathway & intracellular endogenous synthesis of cysteine from methionine. Doing so also gives benefits of methionine, and helps balance transulfuration/Cysteine pathway with SAMe by balancing SAM/SAH ratios (folate, b12, glycine cofactors).
You also need to balance Cysteine with Glycine to aid the detox process in the liver & kidneys.

@@retro000 Your comments were interesting in that I did not have CoVid but a severe reaction to my second vaccine. 9 hours after I arose from sleep and took 4 steps and fell in a complete muscle failure. I could not even prop myself up on my elbows. I was dragged to bed. 4 hours. later I decided to get up thinking it had been an anomaly and would not happen again. But it did. Was treated by neurologists at prestigious UCSF who told me that such a reaction was known by them. Took me a while to return to normal. It seemed to me that this panel of doctors were operating on a “hush hush” basis. You get my implication. What a sorry way for the medical field to operate but that was the case then.

How long should I be on NAC for? I started taking it for long covid about a month ago (working well, along with other supplements, ie quercetin/bromelain and nattokinase and serrapeptase). I've just purchased augmented NAC, as my bottle of NAC is almost used up.

@@lynetteprice8519 I take them daily, but having said that, I've only been on the nattokinase/serrapeptase for coming up to 30 days, and the NAC for a little bit longer - nearly finished that jar and want to see if there is any noticeable difference with the augmented NAC, as it is supposed to be so much better. No point in asking my Dr these things! I think everything I'm taking must have worked remarkably, as I fully expected to spend the rest of the year in bed, but the turnaround within the last couple of weeks has been amazing.
