now that is my kind of fishing. I love it when you were the only ones out there and in spots no one else would even think of going and with the ned rig you are bound for a great day🤙🏼
Captain, please explain the 6-8 lbs. braid with a 12-15 lb. leader, the freshwater finesse fishing guys are using much lighter leaders , I know you use a heavier leader for abrasion resistance but isn’t using 12-15 lb. leader killing the action of the bait? Thanks!
Love ned fishing for trout and reds here in GA. I want to buy a good set up that’s not to tough on the wallet. Would you recommend the curado rod in this same action? Also would a 2500 nacsi be too heavy for this setup?
Robert- Zman makes some finesse terminal tackle to match their NED system. But my preferred tackle is the 1/10oz finesse bulletz! Also utilize a Light Action rod with a moderate fast tip and you’ll be all set. Appreciate the follow
I really like the Ned shrimp rig, not popular in NC where I’m from but I’d like to give it a shot. What color would u recommend for a nc marsh in winter/spring?
I'd go with natural shrimp colors like brown, light pink and or tan. You might like the Power Prawn from Salt Strong too. It comes in the colors I'd use anywhere that shrimp live.
@@flatsclasscharters you haven’t tried Ned rigging the baby goat? You should! It was only thing I could get bites on (bass) yesterday during the first big temp drop
@@flatsclasscharters I saw that after watching the full video. I appreciate you breaking all the details down right down to the rod and reel used. I’m trying to find a good casting rod to throw the zman baits with. I have curados reels but older ones for fresh water bought a pen low profile before even knowing Shimano made a inshore bait caster. I’m like you more of a casting rod guy. Thought about just building me one but time is a issue with the whey I work right now. Hope your doing well.
Thanks Captain , you and Z-man have helped put a lot of fish on my plate . We are all blessed. Stay safe , Sir.
That was a GREAT video. Love the Back,Back,Back country. Thanks i lear a lot from you.
That nedlockz ewg is really good too especially in grassy areas.
I would agree, Jimmy

Your handle name tells me you’re an adventurer
@@flatsclasscharters I try to get out when I can in between school
Oh man. Cap has got me excited for a Ned kicker crab. That would be amazing
That gets me fired up for ned rig fishing!
Way to go!
What makes watermelon red such an effective color for this profile? I always think of watermelon red as more of a bass color
It's close enough to a natural shrimp, kinda pink. Remember that fish see colors differently than we do.
12:30 vid reminds me of Bogey and Hepburn in African Queen 🙂

Good information. Thanks
Hello Capt. do you think this Ned ShrimpZ can be use for mangrove snapper on flats? thanks
Captain… do you tie these with a clinch knot or with a loop knot??

Yes I would recommend and Shimano Nasci is such a great value
@Capt. C.A. Richardson what is the best way to rig these and fish them

@flatsclasscharters Can you do a rigging video on how to Carolina rig the Salty Ned Shrimpz

No baby goat? Where would that rank among the baits in this video?
The Baby Goat isn’t in the NED category but a damn good bait for sure!

I love the ticklerz
It’s a fantastic year round option for me!
Lol Bill dance has set the bar for breaking rod tips.
Joey, you got that right!
No different then throwing the craws or ticklerz
I thought you sold your Eldora or is that the client you sold it to?
I’ll never sell HB Eldora, I sold my Marquesa and replaced with a HB Professional
"Lead pipe lock when red fishing" wtf does that mean 😂😂😂
I love ned rigs, I always fished small profile baits when I bass fished. Big fan of throwing Ned in saltwater
👏🏼
What rod and reel was he using as far as set up using that particular salty ned? You might say before the end of the video if so I’m sorry 😂
Its the 7’ Light Action Shimano Zodias with Shimano Vanford 2000 and 8lb test braid but 6lb braid would be better
