    I used to use a loop knot also. I bought into all of the hype that you get more action out of the lure until I saw underwater video in a tank that clearly demonstrated that there was virtually no difference when using a loop knot. Also on more than one occasion I had the line break inside of the loop. The knot did not fail the line broke from abrasion from the eye of the hook. I spoke to some friends about this and they have had the same experience of the loop breaking. Now I use a surgeon's knot to attach the leader to the line and a uni knot to attach the hook to the leader.

      Yeah I 100% agree with you only time I will do a loop knot is on my hard baits

    100% agree with you more people need to do videos on how to rig and fish them. I like fishing them under a popping cork.

    That's almost a Rapala knot. Once you went back through the overhand knot the 2nd time I always go back through the tag to make it a bit stronger. Great video!

    I've always been partial to the Kreh Loop Knot, Lefty never lead us astray. With the tag end pointing at the lure, you don't pick up weeds or moss on the tag end.

    Just bought some of the Ned shrimp. 1/10th oz was the only size bulletz they had at the time and are hard to cast in the wind but it definitely did some damage to the trout!

    I love to use scents on my artificials, and since zman doesn't hold scent , I always cut a flesh tone foam ear plug in half, thread onto the hook, and give it a few drops of gulp juice.

    Great video! I have a question unrelated to video. Where in south Pinellas County can I rake for live sand fleas? I initially thought any beach would do but was told by someone that they are hard to find locally due to the constant beach renourishment being done locally. Any thoughts/suggestions? 🌴 hey thon, have you used other plastic shrimp bodies , and got the same results and what about colors ? There seems to be other brands that look more realistic , one thought is a lot of times people work the lure to fast, but if you don’t speed it up you don’t cove as much area , usually I’ll fan cast an area in front of me , have you tried putting sent on those shrimp ? And then there’s the weight of that rig you use , the right weight will let that shrimp slowly sink as it looks in nature , to heavy of a weight and it drops like a pompano jig , interesting vid , the whole plastic lure thing ,plastic crabs, paddle tails , twister tails , and 3D replica’s , this needs more study 🤔 actually It means more fishing 👈🏼😆👍🏼👊🏼

    • @Thonny
      @Thonny  Год назад

      I’ll have to try putting scent on the shrimp! Also, I’ll try different artificial shrimp just to see how well they’ll work with the same jig head
