🌴 hey bro, the heavy spinning gear gets the line out there , level winders and big boy fish’n poles give you the terminal power to truck winch those bad boys in , three times I’ve gotten hammered by “ something !” That’s hooked up and headed due west at 30 knots heading for Texas and I couldn’t stop em , one burned 250 yds of 50 lb braid off the reel , it will get your heart pumping , getting grouper off the bottom is the key , they love them rocks , where they hang you up and cut you off on barnacles and oysters, try some thin multi strand wire on the end of your leader , it’s thinner than fluorocarbon and I think harder for them to see plus if you get any toothy critters on there your less likely to get cut off , only need a couple of feet of it on there , big grunts work great to, along with those big pinfish , oh and make sure your expensive fishing equipment isn’t going to go swimming, ! I can’t stand to see a grown man cry 🤣👍🏼👊🏼
@@Thonny Yeah, I kept on getting eaten by dolphins myself. Lol I’ll probably go back out this weekend again, I want to hit gag season as much as I can before it ends.
Thanks video Tony I'm about to get down there to that store I need some more fishing gear thanks a lot for the video I'm looking for a fishing rod but sheep heads do you know of any grapes I'll be checking back with you thanks
@benjaminfishbeyn1996 nah dolphins at skyway are def worse than used to be plus I'm no sheep go get your course done lol wait you already have baaaahhhh
I also wanted to ask you, for your go-to skyway set up, do you have any monofilament backing on your Saragossa, or is it just full braid. If you do, what size mono do you recommend for your backing on that size reel?
Yes I always add backing. For 5000 size reel and up I typically just use 20lb mono and fill it up to about a little over half spool full so that when I add the braid it’ll be around 200 yards.
I was surprised by only 200yds on a 10k, do you have mono backing? Looked up the specs for SGR10000SW and it shows 360yds of Power Pro. Enjoy your vids, look forward to more.
Definitely a backing @ 200yds and its close to the brim already. I put backing as well just to prevent slippage but at least 300 yds just in case i go offshore.
Those are 20 something inch grouper? Why going so monsterously heavy? Get a pier/bridge landing net. A 4k max sized reel with 30lb braid and 40max mono or fluoro can catch any 20something inch (or 30) grouper if you aren't getting cut by rocks or wrapping the supports.
Umm fish wont know if its 2k set up or 200 set up. Ive been on a very expensive boats with ugly sticks + bgs and customs + stellas. Both caught fish tho. 😂
Bros literally doing a video on fishing for grouper from land/pier so idk why youre even watching if you cant even comprehend the basic premise of the video benji

That shop is fire 🔥 I got my shimano ultegra there
The employees are also very knowledgeable!
Watching ur vids introduced me to st pete outfitters. One of my favorite shops, been dropping money in that place like crazy ever since 😂😂
Great shop with very knowledgeable staff!
Thanks for the info. All very informative. BTW, I saw you on the S. Skyway Pier early this afternoon. Hope luck was on your side today.💪🏻

I use 65 for combat grouper fishing like that lasts longer and can almost go no drag on the spinner setup with that line class
Going to check out that tackle shop they have a lot of stuff.
Loaded with inventory and if they don’t have something you’re looking for they can order it for you.
nice you know what lure is good for bonita?
Try the heavy dine by mirrolure or rattle trap
I stopped going to Skyway - few weeks ago - Johns Pass and Fort Desoto have proven more successful for me instantly!
Sounds like you don’t know how to fish
@@benjaminfishbeyn1996seems all you do is bash. Maybe go fishing and chill.
Man Ive been hittin JPass daily with no luck. What do you target? I cant get trout or snook but have gotten a few pomps

Does Corey ship pompano tying items to Texas?

I'm headed out to the Skyway pier tomorrow...do you like the north pier or south pier better?
north
I’d try both sides
It was cold and windy this morning...dolphins were there all day taking everyone's bait...
Bad ass truck

The heavier the braid you choose, the less line you get on your real. If he chose 30-40lb braid, he could get around the 300 range.
@@BlakeCresswell I understand. The specs I gave are for the exact line and test per Shimano, tho its actually meters.

St Pete Outfitters is the best !!

seems expensive 💯
Yeah bro, let me just get this budget rod for when I use my extremely expensive offshore boat. Lmao makes no sense.
More pithy comments.
