Hello friend, I am a follower of yours, it has very good content, could you tell me how to get a class like the one you are using, it really looks very good, thanks to
I know that spot. No loose lips. I was thinking about fishing there yesterday the 24th, but chose a different spot instead. Too, bad it would have been cool bumping into you.
Like I said in your last vid, you don’t know what you’re missing out on with these soft plastics till you throw them on a NED jig. Get the pro shrooms from zman. Literally a whole other level dude. And the day they don’t work, use a TRD Crawz on that same NED jig. You can thank me later lol
I use them mostly for sheepshead whenever I can’t get fiddlers in the winter, but given it’s a small crab type presentation, I’ve gotten plenty of black drum around similar structure, and get reds around the flats. If you find an area between the two, I usually get little sea bass too. I’ve hooked a couple snook, but not nearly as many as the other fish I’ve mentioned. Maybe if I used the jig you’re currently using on a lighter weight, might make it look like a swimming crab, vs one crawling on the bottom. On a 1/8 or lighter NED jig, and the salty shrimpz, I’ve had plenty of luck on pompanos too. Especially on treasure island beaches, the current in the troughs is just enough to make them swim around and not sink
Thonny, Good video and interesting thread. GGgutierez I'm really interested in learning how you use the ned jig head to catch sheepshead but especially pompano. What's your recommended weight for both? Do you find it more effective for pompano than a goofy jig? Favorite color? Are you really letting it swim or are you mostly hugging the bottom? Sorry for all the questions but like i said, I'm genuinely interested. Thanks!
@@Stevefrump Yeah man, for sure! No trouble at all! So, for sheepshead I’ve only gotten a few on the shrimpz. It works, but not enough for me to say it’s particularly effective lol. I think they were just suicidal lmao. On the TRD crawz, I’ve had MUCH better luck. I’m pretty sure it’s just the presentation. It mimics a crab or crawfish, and matched with a NED jig, it stands up with every little twitch, anddd the claws float so it looks natural. Like it’s in defense. Savage gear makes a great looking crab too, but the plastic isn’t nearly as durable as zman. As for pompano, it depends where I’m fishing. The pompano/ goofy jigs work great but the two exposed hooks can be in issue if you’re around structure like a jetty for example. I like using the NED heads or even one with a wire guard if you’re worried about getting hung up. When fishing beach troughs for pompano using a NED head with the salty shrimpz, 1/8 or lighter is what I typically use. It really depends on current. The idea is to cast it into the center, or ideally, on the outer side of it and reel into the center, and let it “swim”. Basically the weight isn’t enough to let it sink and hit bottom, but enough to prevent it from washing out. When it’s in the current on the NED, it makes the head of the shrimp dive, and the soft tail has tons of action. Makes it look like a little shrimp darting in the current. I catch tons of whiting as a bycatch using this method as well
@@Ggutierrez1936 This is very helpful. I think I understand now. It makes a lot of sense. My favorite setup for reds is snapping a 3" gulp shrimp on a jig head. Same basic principle but I hear what you are saying. With the Ned head and elaztech it will stand up better and move more on its own. It also has more of a swim element. The size is also ideal for pompano and sheepshead. I've fished all the fake crabs and agree on your assessment. They aren't as durable but I think they also fish slower than your method. You can cover more ground your way. Thanks again!
You have done a really good job on this episode thonny 🎉😊
Weedon Island pier is a great spot. For tossing artificials at night, the Pass a Grille seawall is also good, especially around the piers.
This isn't weedon pier. Weedon has fillet tables on the right and much wider
I'm always jealous of the places you're fishing, bro. I wish I was on the gulf.
Another great video man! Happy holidays!
Thank you! Happy holidays!!
I'm down in Naples. VuDu shrimp is another great lure. I catch everything on it......snook, grouper, sheeps, mang snaps, trout, etc. Happy Holidays!!
I haven’t caught anything nice with the vudu shrimp yet! I’ll have to give it a try again. Thanks, happy holidays!
Nice little pier.
Happy holidays Thony. Great video as always
Merry Christmas! Thank you 👊 more to come!
Bro what pier are you at catching those snook with the net shrimp?
Happy Holidays Thonny keep up the great content. Love seeing all this.
Merry Christmas! Thanks for watching, more to come! 💪
Ladyfish aka redfish candy I steak them 1” thick for the big reds
Might have to send a cut ladyfish out there!

good video! that last fishing spot catching lady fish, snook etc is sick
Appreciate it!!
Hey Thonny... do you ever use the 3" Z-man Scented Shrimpz? They look almost the same as the salty ned shrimpz.
