    I love you bringing up the point about Dwight and Javale on the championship team. I always think about how the Lakers never replaced that role after that year and how needed it is. Maybe Jaxson Hayes can get more minutes in that role too? He’s a freak athlete who could be lob threat for LeBron, deter shots on defense, and get rebounds.

      I think it's crazy that McGee doesn't get the recognition as one of the best backup bigs in the league. I don't understand the extreme Lebron hate OR love. The running narrative after that game that I have seen from other people is that Lebron "trusts his teammates" and "always makes the right play." But....that's not true. How many moments have we already seen from Lebron this season alone of him absolutely sulking, throwing his hands up and blaming teammates for his own bad defense? On the other end, all these people acting like he should just "shoot no matter what" and that making a pass for game winners is "mentally weak" and "not what Jordan would do" are as Lebron rightly said, very ignorant about basketball. But Lebron is also wrong when he says he "makes the right play every single time." We all know that is not true, and is also something that he has used as an excuse when he absolutely HAS been mentally weak at times. With that said, he often DOES make the best play. So his haters too often overlook his many successes. The extremes and constant lack of nuance from all directions are just exhausting for any reasonable people watching it all play out.

    • @youtubewatcher4955
      @youtubewatcher4955 10 месяцев назад

      It’s not that serious. Lebron is last on the long list of problems with the Lakers. Everyone points out his bad defense like he’s the weakest link on the bad boy pistons. No, they’re all getting burned. Every last one of them. Not one person even AD has played decent defense. It’s all cherry picking from both sides of the spectrum.

      That's the problem with individual marketing in a team sport. Everything becomes "how can you hurt or help your own individual legacy" rather than how do you win or lose as a team. Lebron didn't do any favors coming into the league with the tattoo as the "chosen one", but when you get hyped up that much at such a young age, it's not hard to buy into it

  • @BlindfoldSniper

    Lakers got lucky at the trade deadline last year and thanks to the new CBA, that kind of sequence will become more and more unlikely. Fact is, is that the Lakers are essentially a new team such are the personnel turnover that occurred off-season and it's time the Laker fanbase put pressure on the front office to get a more sustainable and organic growth of their team... ONCE LBJ RETIRES.

    • @cottonmather8146
      @cottonmather8146 10 месяцев назад +3

      No such thing as "organic growth". The Lakers have always looked to make trades for stars or space when it makes sense even before Lebron. The difference is they were able to draft Magic and Kobe. Most franchises don't get lucky drafting a generational talent. The Lakers lottery picks since the mid 2010s have not looked at all like 1st or even 2nd options on a winning team. There's no regret in trading two of their most "promising" young core pieces who can't even stay on the court longer than the guy they traded for

    • @BlindfoldSniper
      @BlindfoldSniper 10 месяцев назад

      @@cottonmather8146 I know when it comes to the Lakers that there's no such thing as organic growth, but if they don't want to have their fans revolt on them, they can't treat the fanbase like idiots either. You don't have to draft all your talent, but rather have a team around together long enough where the chemistry has a chance to grow.
      Look, to be completely frank with you, from the outside looking in (I'm not a Laker fan) The front office just seems to be hellbent on getting as many big names as they can in a Laker jersey and then filling out the roster with whoever they can get for cheap, which I suspect is all a ploy for money because so long as the fanbase still keep supporting the team and most of all, buying merch (the real reason why all the big names) then the front office will not give two hoots about the revolving door.

You can have AD as a rim protector, but you need someone else grabbing rebounds. I think even if Lebron was younger and more spray; he never averaged more than what 6 or 7 rebounds per year ?
