I hope this season becomes a lesson to the Lakers that not always chasing after Star power in return of losing depth to your team is the key to winning.
honestly after that "benching" thing russ has played a lot well. seems he always does when someone points out his critical flaws. just like turnovers. ever since that 9 turnover game, mans been averaging only 1 and a half TO's. he played well tonight. Hopefully it continues
Video addresses this, even though his TOs are down, its because he isn't playing for assists and shot creation, instead he's just settling for bad shots.
@@hyperbomb02 sometimes sure. But alot of it has also to do with him just missing shots at the rim that he has shown capable of making. It shows that he is willing to adjust. Problem with a lot of people is they expect results right away. Its process especially for russ. He has been very efficient with 47% fg before that slump he had.
They could've gotten lowry and derozan. We all know what lowry can do, but we doubt derozan. Now I'm just happy that the lakers disrespected my former raptor boys.
At this point, we just need hustle guys. Guys that show a lot of heart. Our defence has been atrocious. Like nobody in the team cares about playing defence. I don’t doubt how different our defence will look if Caruso didn’t leave.
Thank you for putting Madness by muse in this video because I just realized that I didn’t have it in my throwback playlist and that’s one of my favorite throwback songs
12:58 This *right here* is why Russ has so many triple doubles. And this is why chasing stats it so cancerous for teams, he is playing the game to get a rebound, not to stop his man scoring, not to break up a play, not to help on D, *to get a rebound.*
the problem I see here is Russ, Lebron and Melo have a "superstar" status. Means they are not used to be the "effort" players. When all 3 of them are on the court, most of them just watch the ball and wait until it comes to their hands. Especially they are no longer in their prime. This shows how role players are important. When they did loose Caruso, KCP, Kuzma. Lakers definitely loose there "effort" players.
i disagree. The problem of the Lakers is what has been discussed in the video, Russ‘ play style evidently does not work with Lebron and the Lakers offence system. Lebron needed a wing player to make 3’s and play defence, so that he can run the floor and create spaces, but Russ can’t even hit simple jump shots, and he’s never been a decent defender. Melo has been playing as a “role” player coming off the bench in the last few seasons and I don’t think any who has a “superstar” status is willing to do that. They lost their “effort” players because of this terrible Russ trade, when they can keep Caruso or KCP if they went to Buddy in the first place.
@@SpeedyShifts i mean I don't disagree with all what you said. Russ is not D-wade. It was not a fit at the first place. Only thing I can see would work for them is Russ coming off the bench. With Melo, what I really meant was he is on the court to score rather than play D and go for loose balls. That is also what I said that if all 3 of them are inside the court, there is always some lapses on defense. Defense is effort and discipline.
@@vhonalbertastorga The fit is bad to begin with, Russ should either come off the bench or get traded (I don’t think that is happening btw). Melo is too old and slow to play decent defence, so is Lebron, if you watch the games you can see Lebron most of the time doesn’t even put his arms up. The entire defence is just bad but I don’t think we can blame Melo or Lebron since they are too old. Hopefully when AD comes back the defence can pick up.
They've messed up the moment they didn't hire Ty Lue for his request to pick his own coaching staffs. Now they're trapped with players that LeBron handpicked for the them.
The worst thing about Russ, is how absolutely delusional he is. How he takes zero accountability and makes excuses that don’t make sense. He’s damn lucky he’s been able to be a basketball player for a job, because he’s obviously not that bright.
It's a weird thing too where some of his teammates rave about him and his work ethic (which is believable), along sports commentators and some NBA greats praising his passion and competitive drive, but he's seemingly not improved his game much in the last 7 (or possibly more) years.
first 10 minutes of this content was pure comedy, the songs and instrumentals were spot on I laughed the whole first half of the video. great job coach 🤟🏽
The main problem is the changing of the roster so much in 3 years. You can’t win a chip when you constantly change your personnel so much. Lakers literally panicked when harden went to the nets lowkey and that’s why they got Russ and insurance in the event ad or bron get hurt. The lakers were good in the 2020-2021 season but they just got injured. They should’ve kept the same core and got hield, kept caruso, still trade Kcp kuzma montrez but not for Russ but for other players. Still get melo but keep the core.

A lot of your points and those in the comments are great and ones I constantly think of as a big laker fan, who is distraught that after winning a title in year 1 of Bron and AD, we could’ve fallen so far in so little time. Even just last year, we were #1 in net rating in the league until AD got hurt. I do think though that the buddy stuff is overblown. You’d be losing your top big wing and likely Caruso as well. A rotation of Bron, AD, kcp, buddy, Dwight, and let’s just say the same guys of this year like monk, bradley, melo, etc is really not that great a team. I’d probably guess that with Bron and AD combining to miss over 30 games so far this year, they’d be having a very similar year to Denver where their net rating is respectable and they’re slightly above 500 in the 6 seed. Also buddy in the playoffs always worried me and losing ac and kuz (and schroder who was a solid poa defender for us last year) and only replacing them with offense only guys would’ve been tough to sustain a great defense. I’m in no way justifying the Russ trade, I’m of the opinion that they messed things up the first off season when they traded Danny (and the first rounder that would’ve been Desmond bane) and javale, while letting Avery, Dwight, and rondo go. Anyways, let’s Pray they realize their mistakes and optimize all the cap space they’ll have after next season
The #1 reason they’ve fallen off is AD’s durability. They do rely on Bron n AD a lot so when one goes out, the team suffers tremendously. Once AD comes back and stays healthy, they should still be one of the top teams in the West.
Always thought Westbrook winning MVP was fraudulent. All based on stat padding at OKC. It was so obvious but nobody called him out until after he won MVP.

@@nitni0002 I don’t blame anyone I know that the front office messed up hiring Brooks and trading for Perkins. Brooks for not starting Harden and trading Jeff Green for a center that couldn’t move. The roster is a mess and there is nothing the coach can do to salvage it. Perhaps Vogel can push the defense a little harder so the Lakers at least try to defend but that ain't gonna win them another title...
Seeing Russ not getting close to 10 assists is really alarming. The 2nd half of last season he was putting on a passing clinic with the Wizards. His greatest skills are driving and kicking and rebounding. The Lakers don’t have him involved in doing the things he’s great at. Russ playing off the ball is worthless.
Stop looking at the box scores and actually watch the games. They tried that during the first 25 games. Russ was basically blowing games left and right with his turnovers. It's no coincidence his turnovers are down as he's been playing off-ball more the last 10 games or so.
@@Red-li2ys I've been watching Russ since 2011 - yes he can be an idiot/terrible at times but having him play off-ball will make him terrible all the time. He needs the ball to be effective. Vogel needs to stagger Westbrook's and Lebron's minutes way better than he has been. If you let him play free like he's used to, without the pressure of having to share the ball with Lebron, he will play much better than he has been.
The truth is Russ never evolved his game as he aged and his poor shooting and lack of movement off ball results in other teams hanging out on LeBron/AD or Laker's shooters. Crazy to think the Lakers could have traded for Lowry last year sending THT to the Raptors and also had room to sign DeRozan and resigned Caruso. Potential starting 5: Lowry, Caruso, DeRozan, LeBron, Davis... ouch
I’m at a point I think his vision is shot 😅 not being funny but Russ act like someone who be way too stubborn to get precription glasses or goggles to wear on the court bc his turnover & miss shot are so far gone it’s crazy especially when they say he worked on his shot during summer practice. He gotta have blurred vision. Yeah his bball IQ always kinda low but he got by off athleticism. The game has changed n a PG can’t shoot & get dimes then your a dinosaur. Hell Derrick Rose listen & got right yet Russ bullheaded as always never worked on that part of his game smh
You have to remember he wasn’t the best or most skilled player on his teams outside of one year in high school and one year in the pros so he knows that his best strength is to go fast and hard. Unfortunately he’s slowing down and for him it makes his survival harder to imagine, for the Laker FO they’re playing with house money if he succeeds they get another ring, if he doesn’t his salary is gone after 2023 which by then even Loul Deng’s dead money is also off there cap books. Whether LeBron is still playing doesn’t matter as much as he gave them a championship. The Buss Family will save some more money and at the next cable contract negotiations have a title ready team.

Kuzma wasn't a greater defender he just just ight
@Matt underrated comment bruh
@@hwinoree2257 yeah he had to play defense in Miami
Shows no effort that’s why Giannis and KD over him?
Coach was spitting pure pain on this one 🙏🤝🙌
I hope this season becomes a lesson to the Lakers that not always chasing after Star power in return of losing depth to your team is the key to winning.
Hilarious intro! Great vid as always coach!
Edit: I vibed through this whole video. Made these horrible plays so much easier to watch 🤣
Yeah he definitely had the music on point in this one
The Adele intro is killing me 😅🤣😂🤣...It's like it was written for them.
U can’t not start a 40 million player. Even though everyone says he’ll do better with a 2nd unit
Why not?
76ers have 2 of those LOL
If it led to more W's I don't think anyone would complain. LeBron and Russ shouldn't be on the floor at the same time
You don't know how much I've waited you to make a video about westbrick again like literally visiting your channel everyday to check on it 😆
Memphis should be in the conference finals this year they’re so good
Mavs owned them . Shut up
Still young although they could, I think next year will be their time
Their missing something. They are going to disappoint in the playoffs.
Grizzlies are going to the finals vs the bucks this year
honestly after that "benching" thing russ has played a lot well. seems he always does when someone points out his critical flaws. just like turnovers. ever since that 9 turnover game, mans been averaging only 1 and a half TO's. he played well tonight. Hopefully it continues
he is definitely playing a lot well
Video addresses this, even though his TOs are down, its because he isn't playing for assists and shot creation, instead he's just settling for bad shots.
SuperTDSmith the energy off this comment is weird
@@jayow3391 he has to adjust, or get traded. It's not all by choice
They could've gotten lowry and derozan. We all know what lowry can do, but we doubt derozan. Now I'm just happy that the lakers disrespected my former raptor boys.
LMAO, coach this is the funniest video you've ever made. That shit at 14:40 had my dying. Also, maybe I just love laughing at a bad Lakers team.
12:58
This *right here* is why Russ has so many triple doubles. And this is why chasing stats it so cancerous for teams, he is playing the game to get a rebound, not to stop his man scoring, not to break up a play, not to help on D, *to get a rebound.*
Just a heads up Coach record labels are really jerks about copyright claims on long clips of songs. Love your videos!
the problem I see here is Russ, Lebron and Melo have a "superstar" status.
I like the music and edits on this one! Makes it all the more interesting 😅👏🏼
Can the Lakers fire Lebron the GM and keep LeBron the player?
They've messed up the moment they didn't hire Ty Lue for his request to pick his own coaching staffs. Now they're trapped with players that LeBron handpicked for the them.
Seeing Lakers like this made me realize that Bucks, Spurs, Warriors and Suns has a great coaching staff.
Westbrook is absolute right, in fact missed-shoots and turnovers are absolute the core of his game. They should simply send him to the g-league.
Man.
That opening song was a brilliant choice. Laughed out loud.
@David fair use
The worst thing about Russ, is how absolutely delusional he is. How he takes zero accountability and makes excuses that don’t make sense.
He’s damn lucky he’s been able to be a basketball player for a job, because he’s obviously not that bright.
It's a weird thing too where some of his teammates rave about him and his work ethic (which is believable), along sports commentators and some NBA greats praising his passion and competitive drive, but he's seemingly not improved his game much in the last 7 (or possibly more) years.
woah i better grab some popcorn! 20 minutes of coach nick!
coach has always been rightfully critical of westbrook’s game
first 10 minutes of this content was pure comedy, the songs and instrumentals were spot on I laughed the whole first half of the video. great job coach 🤟🏽
Kcp's perimeter defense and shot making has been missed by them
you have outdone yourself with the intro !
and 14:41 burst out laughing hahaha
Love your videos !
It’s crazy that deal didn’t go through for Buddy Hield.
The music choices are on point in this vid!
Could you please make a video on why the Suns are so dominant this year and why they are rated top 5 in best defense and offense?
The suns are trash.. cp3 is doing all the work
@@time_less9039 if you actually think that the suns are trash, then you don’t know basketball, period.
Suns are nothing against complete Warriors.
@@gelax7903 Warriors defense is really bad without Draymond and if curry doesn’t score points you guys don’t have a reliable scorer just like how you guys got beat by a Pacers B team and almost lost to the 15th seed Rockets. But the Suns even without Booker and Ayton are still at their absolute best because they are a more complete team and do not rely on a single person to carry them.
@@pawanr728 That's why i said complete Warriors. Dont mention the Warriors lost against low tier teams because the Warriors beat the Suns at their homecourt without Wiggins, Poole, Wiseman and Klay. Chris Paul dont wanna mess with those Dubs come playoff time because we know the history. Lol
The video I've been waiting for. I just knew it was coming 😂.
I wonder what Lebron was thinking here… :58 it’s almost impossible to have a TO like that….
He was thinking "Ima be forever stuck on 3.5 rings."

They should've never broken up last seasons team, that team was better than this year if they removed shrouder before deadline they'd be straight
No they need a point guard and they could’ve traded Kuzma for Holiday
Great start to the video LOL love you bballl king
Once AD comes back and stays healthy, they should still be one of the top teams in the West.
the way coach nick transitioned to the ad for manscaped was very smooth.
This is probably the worst decision James ever made to have Russ. I really feel bad for him.
It's on Rambis
@@yu.h.c2051 haha
Pretty great choice on the music coach! I wasn't expecting Adele to hit so hard lol
Always thought Westbrook winning MVP was fraudulent. All based on stat padding at OKC. It was so obvious but nobody called him out until after he won MVP.
If every MVP was about being the best player LeBron would have at least 7, Kareem would have 10-12 and Jordan would have 9-11 depending on the situation
@@mattmannlvca 🤷🏼♂️ Can only tell you that Westbrook never deserved it. I never blamed Durant for leaving OKC if he had to deal with Westbrook
@@nitni0002 Durant left because the FO killed any chance the team had when they traded Jeff Green. Westbrook wasn’t jacking up 3s until after that trade and had decent playoff performances. However, the flaws since high school showed up more and more once the ball was left in his hands which it baffled me why OKC never started all three, because UCLA never played Westbrook at point
@@mattmannlvca blame anyone you like. Being stuck with just Westbrook was the end result. Harden should have played point with Russ as shooting guard.
@@nitni0002 I don’t blame anyone I know that the front office messed up hiring Brooks and trading for Perkins. Brooks for not starting Harden and trading Jeff Green for a center that couldn’t move. They were stuck with Westbrook as you say because of the costly Jeff Green trade as Perkins was paid 9 million without his Bird’s rights meaning their extension after Durant Westbrook and Ibaka would be a pain. However, like the Lakers the front office wanted to find diamonds in the rough but after Ibaka and Jackson they ended up with more Andre Roberson and Cole Aldrich.
i hope manscaped is giving you a bag, you got da best ads for them
I mean, Vogel did get the Lakers a ring, now that LeGM & the front office put together a flaming pile of sh*t team, it’s suddenly his fault?
Vogel did not get the lakers a ring , Lebron AD caruso and somehow KCP who played beyond his ability in the playoff did , he was at best an average coach , you can see it in his rotations since the lakers got him at the wheel my guy , of course this shit show is not all on him but he's part of the problem .
I'm here for the music inputs, you don't miss
this team would have been a dynasty 10 years ago
Not with brook
More like 20 years ago during the 90s. 10 years ago Lakers had a dynasty with Dwight, Metta World Peace, Kobe, Gasol, and Steve Nash and that failed.
Not with WB, 10 years ago he had KD, the beard and Serge Ibaka, don’t remember them being a dynasty

Everything is LeBron's fault. He put this shit team together.

I think it's harder against Westbrook to say that's Lebron's fault if Westbrook is not good enough.
And he's overrated himself. He'll be stuck on 3.5 rings. 😂
Wow, amazing video. Loved the background music

nice analysis, and song choices. Adele brought a tear to my eye, just like the Lakers season 😢
The roster is a mess and there is nothing the coach can do to salvage it. Perhaps Vogel can push the defense a little harder so the Lakers at least try to defend but that ain't gonna win them another title...
Love the videos with the fitting song intro. I remember you did them in the playoffs
100%
With all those assists come all those turnovers too though
Stop looking at the box scores and actually watch the games. They tried that during the first 25 games. Russ was basically blowing games left and right with his turnovers. It's no coincidence his turnovers are down as he's been playing off-ball more the last 10 games or so.
Pass to who? Monk? Ok. Lebron (their most prolific 3pt schooter)? I guess, but that takes aways his playmaking, which is better than russ.
Yoooo the music caught off guard 😂😂😂😂😂 good job coach!
Potential starting 5: Lowry, Caruso, DeRozan, LeBron, Davis... ouch
BBALLBREAKDOWN has the best transition into sponsored messages 😂😂😂
The intro had me rolling. LMAO nice upload coach
LBJ is reaping what he sow. Turns out that the Lakers front office were considering to trade for Hield, which makes sense without losing too much. But LBJ and Davis talked to Russ about teaming up.... Pretty much shows that superstar playmakers don't make good GMs
🤓
@@BlakeC27 At this rate, I think it's unfair to blame Westbrook, despite his immense flaws. Everyone knows what Westbrook provides, and LBJ care only about making a Big 3 to win rings...
