Great classic song from the Stylistics. This romantic ballads was so popular at the time, it was frequently played at weddings. Falsetto singing was popular with a lot of groups in the 60s & 70s. Also an FYI, Barry Gibb said in an interview, that The Stylistics was one of the Bee Gees favorite R & B groups. Thanks for reacting to this song.

Barry Gibb said he was a fan of the Stylistics and the Black groups that had singers like Russell that sung Falsetto. That's what made him and his brother start singing that way. But the BeeGee's were the only group that I've ever heard sing three-part Falsetto, and do it well.

Bee Gees been around since the late 50s. Stylistics in 1968. So no, the Bee Gees predate them and had hits for multiple decades. Writing their own music too.
