Luckily I have an RGB saber accompanying my Dooku saber so I can practice with a straight hilt and then adapt to the curved hilt.I love the slower attention to detail. I learned a bit from this and hope to have hands on practice by early June. Cheers brotha!
I love how you actually showed how to do this from the back I had a mental breakdown after seeing this and realized I am a freakin idiot 😂 10/10 am now expert
I have some darksaber fx from my friends for my 25th birthday. It‘s on an samurai stand and waiting to fight you. For honor. May the force be with you. This is the way.
Great instruction….. It’s so hard for me, even at .5 speed, when I’m double jointed and have hyper mobility….. 😭 I keep either hitting my elbow or my shoulder blade!!
If you were apply this to real life these types of spin are used in historical saber techniques, except you are not supposed to open your hand... It should be done with a firm grip on the blade at all times.
You can do it. It's just alot more difficult considering there's two blades. Also it requires you to keep the hilt further away from your body so you have to hug less tight
Every time I try to spin it behind the back all my momentum gets killed and I have start spinning in a different direction. Its also feels like you have to break your arm to actually make it work. I've looked at countless tutorials and none have helped. Maybe this is because I grew up learning how to do tricks with single edged swords, but this feels like one of the only things I can't do and its really frustrating because it looks really cool and everyone says its super easy.
Practice putting your hand as high up on your back as possible, palm facing behind you. It sounds like a mobility thing if it causes that much pain so just keep trying that and you should be all good
@@FronkeyBoy I can put my hand pretty far up my back. I can do all kinds of other cool sword and saber tricks, but not this one for some reason, the saber goes to my back and it just stops. I'm probably just doing something wrong. I do have pretty long arms though so that may have something to do with it
This is easier irl since the blade has weight, imagine trying to twirl this thing if it was a real lightsaber with the hilt being the only thing that has all the weight.
@@Arashi257 I've always been under the impression that the blade has weight because the lightsaber originally was based on a broadsword, which is a VERY heavy sword, and it's why the swordfighting in the OT is so slow and seemingly clumsy compared to the flips and twirls of the PT.
bro didn't explain he was twirling it coming from behind his back to the front you didn't mention you basically gotta spin the saber around your hand lmao im trying it with this toy lightsaber from like the mid 2000's and failing horribly cuz the handle is so thick haha guess you need a smooth and slim handle to execute this move properly
I've seen a few people do it with the dummy thick extending plastic ones. It's just significantly harder because of how light they are. There's like 0 weight to them so they just fly out of your hand
Hey man don't be like that, ok this kid unlike you isn't hiding behind a screen and being meen to others he's out there posting his dream to the world, and I garentee he'd deck you in a dual any day fam
you are an actual teacher. you understand how to clearly break components of a movement apart and identify them for the student to see. good job.
You are quite a good Jedi máster. I have to try this now but with 2 hands.
Instructions not clear killed endless amounts of younglings when attempting to learn
Well....you should practice in an open space, to prevent further execution of Order 66
😂😂😂😂😂
That’s normal
@@richardbalete5337He should've literally practiced in space.
That's what it's for.
This was so helpful thanks!

Recently built a lightsaber at Disneyworld and have been thinking about practicing some movements and even learning form 7. Very helpful thank you

After like 30 other tutorials this is the one!!
You did that without chopping your leg off, thats impressive.
Underrated comment
Really Helpful Video! Thank You So Much!
very helpful now Im just missing the part where I dont actually own a lightsaber
I usually do it with a cut off broom stick I have lying around. Of course, one day I will get my hands on an actual lightsaber
@@braxeton671 thinking about the same, so I’m already prepared when I get one

All jokes aside, great video, lol.

Please make a guide on your favorite cosmetics/prosthetics because I somehow lost a leg and maybe sliced a Droid in half doing this. Maybe...

Good tutorial, looks really cool.

Thanks man, I REALLY needed this vid!
Thanks dude, this was so helpful.
Cool, now I just need a lightsaber
May the force be with you. I have a lightsaber that makes clashing noises so this is cool. at the BEGINNING though, I almost broke my wrist. 😆
This man could teach trigonometry to 5 year olds
I couldn't even teach myself trig
@@FronkeyBoy i couldnt either, and i hate it with a passion
So 👍 loved the video

Great breakdown of the movement, but it wasn't a senseless spin. There is an explanation for that stalemate, by George Lucas and many other sources
Actual tip: feel the force beneath you
This helped me so much. I could never get it down and I just bought a neopixel lightsaber
Edit: he kinda sounds like clone wars obi-wan
I see there’s a force ghost holding a lightsaber
Please remember, if you're short. You cant do it.
Looks real😊
Great instructions! Worst cameraman ever!!!😂
Cool 😎
What a chad

I was wondering if this would work with a double bladed saber, and after some quick analysis, no. You’d cut yourself in half LOL

Hey nobody takes my lightsaber stuff seriously iether, I really liked the video don't listen to all the dweebs in the comments

there are theories that in the lore, the plasma blade has weight
@@thepeskyone Well, we know that the Dark Saber has weight depending on the wielder, but not for regular Lightsabers.

@@Arashi257 there are videos disproving the weightless lightsaber theory
Practice with great caution boys. I was using a metal curtain rod and managed to tap myself on the nuts twice.
Ooooof. I've done that before. Just wait till you smack your ankle going incredibly fast. Pain like nothing else
