Thanks so much, love the hack! Exactly what I was looking for. I made a more permanent solution by opening it up. Undo the screws at the bottom (there's 4 hidden underneath the soft pads at the corners, pry them up at the edge with a screwdriver, then you can stick them back on when done). Pull the base off gently, be careful as there's wires attached to the base connecting it to the circuitry. Have a look at where the button goes so you can put it back there. Remove the round top off the button and stuff something into the hole underneath it. I put about 2mm of a small wooden skewer into it. Tissue paper or foil would work too. You want the button to go back onto the stick, but not go as far down as it did before. That way when you put it back together, the base is constantly pushing the button down. When putting it back together make sure the wires are out of the way of the screw mounts so they don't get squished. You'll need to slide the button side of the base back in first, pressing the top edge in so that the diagonal strip sticking out aligns with the clips. If you don't it'll stick out a bit and won't look as nice. It aligns with the clips as you slide it down, don't just push it in once you've got the base in or the clips will snap off. When you do this you should hear the button click and once the base is on you shouldn't be able to press the button at all. If you can you'll need to stuff a little more into the button hole, if it's too tight and the side is bulging or won't go into place you'll need to take a bit out of the button hole. Hold down the button side and screw that side in first to make sure it stays clipped in place, then screw it all back in and stick the soft pads back on. Works great for me. Make sure you pay attention to where the button circuit goes on the base, there's some clips sticking out of the base with an angle on them, that's it's home. It's actually really easy and simple to do. It'll always be on the constant light mode, there's no way to change it to the other modes. To get the light to turn off when your PS4 is in rest mode change the power options so that it doesn't supply power to the usb's when in rest mode. Works for me as i don't have anything that needs power in rest mode connected to my ps4. Hope this helps someone 😊

Thanks for the guide. I follow and open up the bottom, take out the plastic button and rotate it 90° and put it back in. Rotating the plastic button will trigger permanent press of the button when put back in. 😉 Enjoy

Hello. Is there a video tutorial or a guide with photos? in order to understand well how to use your most efficient method perhaps of an adhesive tape on the button that loses grip after a certain amount of time.

i just bypass the switch but cutting the 2 wires to the switch and twisting them together either one works :)

Hey, that's a really simple solution! I was already considering replacing the internal circuitry and modding it with a toggle switch or something like that, but I wasn't expecting this simple of a workaround! Thanks!

For those of you who can’t get the tape to hold the button - science can help. Tape down a penny on top of your button. That should be enough surface area holding it down to put more force on the button. Worked for me after trying to use just straight duck tape and failing..

Just cut the cables that attach to the button on the inside and twist them together. This way it will be always "on" and you can power using the mini USB.

what i did on the similar GAME OVER lamp from paladone is to open it up, search the button and where it comes through the housing and then from the inside put some duct tape over the whole so the button is constantly pressed as well. i did it that way as the duct tape from the outside did not hold the button in but came off

the tape tends to lose grip on the button in the long run. I've tried a lot of times but in the end the tape comes loose. Isn't there another solution even a little more laborious but more effective?

    Another tip
Try to use double face tape
It's fat well to keep the bottom inside and restrain it for a longer period of time
But don't remove the cover of the double face
