Sir Barry Gibb still going strong despite the fact the majority of his family is gone, his youngest brother Andy. The Gibb twins Robin and Maurice, he only has one sibling left and still he goes on. I guess I was influenced by the media and their beat ups but now I think he's really great which comes I guess from just listening to him in interviews such as this one. I'm getting on , I'm in my sixties and Paul really impresses me, hell he's in his seventies and apart from a few wrinkles he's better now than he ever was, while I'm falling apart, too much having fun but eventually we pay the price.

Tim Minchin seems in awe of Paul, and who can blame him !! ……Macca is probably just a ‘rock music dinosaur’ to some young folk, but he must be the ULTMATE rockstar dinosaur because it was he and three other Liverpudlians who inspired so many impressionable teenagers to take up an instrument, to sing and to perform, and of course to compose.
Interesting also to hear Tim praise Paul’s lyric writing because TM is an exceptional songwriter himself.
And it was so refreshing to hear many different questions to the usual boring ones I’ve heard ad nauseam before. Much of Paul’s success is surely due to his easy-going diplomacy (taught to him by his father), his humour and his genuine respect for his fan base…..Ringo is also a really down-to-earth character who is brilliant in interviews with his charming wit. In fact, the VERY BEST interview I’ve ever seen with any of The Beatles is this 51 minute on-stage interview (ruclips.net/video/6tjAo3v4Fis/видео.html) with Dave Stewart which is fascinating because the questions are from one muso to another muso, and Ringo’s recollections and funny inside stories are compelling for anyone who is an ardent fan of the Fabbers !!

We all understand his GREATNESS, words will never be able to frame it properly--but for Paul to be so humble, year after year, question after question, tour after tour, only puts an exclamation point on how incredibly unique and special he is. His solo material is unbelievably amazing. Only Paul, George, John and Ringo, could follow an act like the Beatles...it figures. Generations from now, people will be studying The Beatles and Lennon/McCartney/Harrison songs. THANK YOU!

Funnily enough, I didn't like it that much when it first came out, and although charmingly melodic, it always seemed to me like a slightly lame halfway house between the early brilliant rock n roll/ pop sounds and the later brilliant, increasingly psychedelic/mind expanding stuff.
But I guess now with distance, I can really appreciate it, in part for those same reasons, - I mean because of its transitional nature. (Hope that makes sense.) :-)

Admirable to see history through the eyes of Paul MacCartney. The serenity with which he talks about the past is lovely. Photographs transport us, they are a direct connection with the emotions experienced. wonderful

Its ingredable. How the illusion of his composing seems like is all fun and party But its actually a tremendous effort of intelect on word and sound and cordination. of rhythm to create a spectacular work of art to music. BRAVO Sir Paul.

Yeah - Yeah - Yeah - BUT COUNT how many times Tim says - " Me" - "I" - "When I" - This interview is about Paul - NOT TIM - sorry - found that a little annoying and insulting to Macca.

i grew up with my older sister being a Beatles fan and my older brother being a rolling stones fan. so the music in the house was and tended to be from the two greatest bands of all time when i started buying records it was Simon Garfunkel and queen. my father by the way loved Jim Reeves and Roy Orbison both of which were massive singers.

geez. I hope I'm able to buy tickets for his Auckland show, saw Paul when he last came in '93 and again recently in Paris in '15, where he performs for 2hrs solid. There was a DJ who opened the show for approx an hour who played all Beatle and Paul's solo songs, my wife commented that if he is on any longer, he would play all of Paul's song. During Paul's live performance, he didn't play any one of the songs that were on prior to his show for his whole 2hrs.

Memories from Australia. Surprised Paul didn't mention the Norman Gunston interview from the Wings tour. Linda was wetting her pants with laughter. A pity he's skipping Adelaide where the biggest public turnout in the day, EVER for The Beatles, outside Adelaide town hall.

This was really nice interview lots of different questions - and no stupid "pid" or "how do you feel when john died?" Shit.

    • @olskzeri2723
      @olskzeri2723 4 года назад

"sTupID pID". Your idols THEMSELVES created PID, so maybe if you consider that fact you should actually like the clues.
If you do not understand the details and it is too complex to you to understand, that is alright. Just do not act like a triggered child about it.
You enjoy "Sir Paul" making up stories about the early days, while "stUpiD piDeRs" knows it is a waste time.

  •  7 лет назад +1

what does that 10:27 gesture mean? i've seen him do it in other interviews while telling a similar story, anyone knows?

Thank goodness for old school songwriting. There's a reason a lot of older songs have endured, and a lot of newer stuff is forgotten tomorrow.
