John Lennon once said that even if there never were The Beatles Ringo would have been famous any way. He said he just had that kind of personality. I believe that to be true.
But Paul said then when ever one of them would let being famous go to their head and start believing they were gods, they looked at Ringo and laughed ... and realised, nah .... we are just mortal men.
What's her name? She's great! I would have been too thrilled and excited to keep cool. I'd probably talk too fast and be hard to understand. More similar to the Chris Farley skit on SNL.
This interviewer might be the best, least-affected, most professional, most prepared, most astute, greatest-listening , never interrupting, never about herself, non ego-driven interviewer I've ever seen. 10 out of 10, great job, you could not have done better. We're very thankful!
Even if "the real Paul" had died in 1966, this one after 50 years "impersonating" him should be the official one by now, right? After all, this one wrote Sgt. Pepper, Hey Jude, Back in the USSR, Let it Be...not bad for a clone... ;-)
his is the best movie I have ever seen.I rate it number 1 ahead of silence of the lambs. It is just shear exhilaration experiencing The Beatles playing live in clear digital format audio and video. I saw it at a sold out theatre in York England. The only criticism I have is they only allowed it for 1 night at the Major Cinema chains. The smaller independent art house cinemas were allowed to show it for a few weeks.Looking forward to buying the movie on Blu Ray and Dvd for my family as a present went it is released later this year. Never will be a band like that again. Literally a miracle those boys came together in space and time to change us forever.
I, too, was in the 6th grade when they first appeared on Sullivan. Speaking as a (now 70- something) USA citizen: Because the early Beatles made such a cheerful, melodic, splash so soon after the shocking assassination of our very beloved young President Kennedy... their joyfilled high energies immediately lifted us baby boomers (of tens of millions of teens and preteens) out of a depression that surely would have negatively impacted the USA.

Amen! Their less than acclaimed songs would STAR in most other top bands’ repertoire. Four blokes from Liverpool made their collective creations highlight millions of others’ youth and entire lives. And the love, peace and happiness that permeates their work became part of us too.
If there was any doubt that the Beatles are the coolest bands ever, just look at them. In their 70's, they're lively, dressed just fresh enough without looking thirsty, completely aware of their place in history while being self deprecating.
I remember back then that John and Paul were like Lewis and Clark; they would go exploring and every day seemed like they added to their map. Then George jumped into the songwriting, and Ringo always played that unique beat. It's hard to explain what leaps the Beatles took, almost on a weekly basis. What a time it was...
I always thought Ringo was the glue that held the guys together. Post-Beatles, Ringo was the happy and easy-going friend, that the other guys could talk to and be heard. Ringo is an amazing photographer too.☮❤
Ringo is so awesome, love his sense of humor and the way he shares his memories.I bet if Paul handed Ringo some drum sticks he'd be ready to Rock in a heartbeat!
My mother came over from Birmingham England 4 years before The Beatles first hit America. She totally turned me on to the group. I was born in 59 so I remember them playing on Ed Sullivan show. I think I was totally a fan from the start. I know it was exciting for my Mom. And we both to this day are fans for life!!!
I'm always speechless whenever anyone utters those words,it just does not compute with me that somebody might NOT love the Beatles.every single artist of note and millions of unknown musicians took their lead from them in some way.when Ozzy,Jeff Lynne,Dave Grohl,Ian Gillan,Rod Stewart,David Bowie,Brian Wilson (and many many more) name The Beatles as their favourite band and most are in awe of them, then that'll do for me.
I’m 36 and I’m coming to realize the significance of The Beatles. I was a fan as a kid. But mostly of the music from these touring years. Now that I’m getting into Abbey Road and The White Album I’m just blown away. These guys did everything first. Everybody looked to them for how to act and how to sound. I’m just now understanding the line from Oliver Stone’s movie The Doors, “C’mon Jim, The Beatles did it.” Edit: as a kid that wanted to bang on pots and pans, I never realized how significant Ringo actually was either.
That would be sick!!! Imagine all the stuff we could get. We could actually get to hear rare studio sessions throughout the Sgt Pepper era, never before seen interviews, and maybe some rare footage of them recording if there is any
When Paul says ... "I was in the Beatles, he was in the Beatles : we are .... " and then tails off because he remembers they're not all there. Oh my... A great little band. :-)
Look up on google----global truth project----click The Present. It answers all of life’s biggest questions and can turn this world right side up from the beginning of it. Nothing is more important than reading it.
They had an unbelievable schedule. Sometimes they wrote a new song in the plane on a flight from a concert and back home they recorded the new song in 3 hours. Whole albums were recorded in 3 days. They wrote Hard Days Night on demand in just one night. And they were a real tight band thanks to all that shows they had played in Hamburg and Liverpool. No other band and no songwriters came close.
I just never tire of finding and learning whatever I can from these guys, anything and everything about them is always new to me, even 50 years after I first knew about them. They just keep getting better every day, The Beatles legacy will outlive us all. Blessings from San Juan PR !!!
I saw this film when in Madrid and absolutely loved it. It was a packed house, with subtitles in Spanish - and the whole audience was totally absorbed in it and clapped like crazy when it was over. Goes to show you, music is a universal language!

Fun fact: There is a picture out there of young Julian and John posing with the cast of Happy Days back in the 70's. Ron Howard met at least 3 whole Beatles in his life. Wow!
When I was 11 years old, my sister gave me a 1963 Kay guitar that my mother bought her because she wanted one but when she heard me trying to play it, she gave it to me. It was The Beatles that got me into music. All by ear. At 62, I can hardly read music but if I can see a few chords, I can catch on. Lately I've been watching some of the riffs which have been helping me figure out different ways to play & now i'm doing good. I bought a Fender Bass with a Fender Amp for my grandson's girlfriends 13 year old sister. All I said was just keep going. Don't stop playing for anyone & since I have about 16 guitars, I told her I'll give her one of my favorites so she can expand her playing. Hey, freely given to me, so I'm freely giving to someone else. Thanks to the Beatles!!!
ty ron howard for giving this more of the beatles my kids will love of the early songs they love the 67-68 period ive been trying to get them into the early times the chaos may excite them now like it did me when I was young
Great interview. Love Paul and Ringo's honest enthusiasm about the documentary and the past. Looking forward to seeing the documentary. Watched the Shea Stadium footage on Book. Incredible!
They were well known for their sense of humour and making fun of each other. One of the best examples - if you haven't seen this whole sketch then it is funny! ruclips.net/video/NW12S4-KB1I/видео.html
I'm sure there are very few people who get the pleasure of geniunely teasing Paulie. Ringo, certainly has earned that right and vice versa. You can see the love between them. True family.
Ringo probably hasn't set foot in Liverpool since 1965 . He's struggling with the Scouse accent . His American twang is obvious . Why fight it , he's lived in America for over 40 years after all .
They both roll their "R's" like Americans i noticed. in stead of better with a pronounced double TT, they roll them like be-dd-a like an east-coast or relaxed Cali...
You know when it was time they new it, but in the same sense they new they were the best and they gave the people what they wanted. Different personalities as individuals they endured for a long time and brought great music and style to the world. God bless John and George and may Paul and Ringo live a happy life. Thanks Ron for bringing them back and letting us know them a little bit better.
Ron Howard and I are a month apart in age. I was thrilled to see that he is bringing such a wonderful documentary about the Beatles to us all!!! I was in 3rd grade when the Beatles came to America. I'll never forget the experience of seeing them on the Ed Sullivan Show. I remember at school the little girl I had a crush on coming to class in her dress with pictures of the Beatles pinned to her dress!! I was so jealous that I had imaginations of the Beatles coming to my school to announce that they were my best friends!! LoL! Anyway, thank you Ron Howard and thank you Paul and Ringo!! May God bless you and believe me when I say that John and George are blessing the ears of God with their amazing voices as we speak!!!!!
This is a really great movie/documentary that should be seen by every Beatles fan, and all younger generations to get a real sense of what all the excitement was about. The excitement was real, they were huge(are) it became Beatlemania and the music is still alive and VERY well!
Right Lisa...Ringo, who gets lots of royalties, mentioned they pick up new fans every decade, so they continue to grow in popularity. Their music is unmatched and will remain incredible and exciting to hear.
those 4 lads from liverpool were like 4 lightning strikes in one bottle..their songwriting ability, musicianship, and harmonies hv never been matched..they were also rescuers.unintentionally..they came to the u.s. on the heels of the jfk assination..our country was deep in mourning..adults of course and the young ppl saw mom and dad so sad.which made them sad..the beatles were like as if the sun came out after a terrible storm..their songs, charm and goodness made ppl happy again..they rescued many adolecents who struggle in those difficult young yrs..me included..you feeling down? put on the beatles! "help, i need someone, HELP!"and 10000 other great songs!
Such a great filkm. Sounds amazing. The live stuff is mind blowing. They really rocked in concert. They were so much more than we realized growing up. They were heavy for such an early time.
I think everybody has to admit what was really incredible was that they would make a fantastic song then another then another then another and it never stopped .
I love it when Ringo says when hearing a record for the first time on the radio they made is one of the hugest memories for him. So heartwarming! I can tell Ringo is proud of all the magic he Paul,John, and George created as the Beatles.
I was 4 when the Beatles hit the charts and one of my few childhood memories was hearing my first Beatle song and has been major enjoyment with me daily through out my life
It's amazing to me that the tabloid press recently tried to say that Ringo went off the wagon and had to go back to rehab. Clearly, Ringo is the absolute picture of health and serenity!
I'm 21 yet I do enjoy listening to their music. My father is a huge fan of The Beatles. I grew up listening to some of their songs. I'm a fan of them too, and yes, I would like to know them more through films and documentaries. I would like to see and feel their era of legendary success. :)
Can't wait to see it! 3 weeks ago I went to Abbey Road and two days later I was in Liverpool at Ringo, Paul George and John's boyhood homes. Back in Nova Scotia now with a Beatles hangover : )
I saw these guys in concert, on my 9th b-day It was in Portland OR on 22 Aug 1965 they played for 35 mins, but it seemed longer The Help album was released 2 wks before, I remember them singing Help and A Hard Day's Night It was the best place to be on the planet
I came to the Beatles late on, i was about 12yrs old, a lad (same age) moved into a house a couple of doors down and he was Beatles mad, we became great friends and The Beatles magic rubbed off onto me, 45 years later still love their music, still as fresh today. ❤
I was 13 in 1964. I'm so glad I was the right age at the right time when Beatlmania exploded in the US. What an electrifying time. It's been 60 years now and this type of musical excitement and will never again be repeated. I feel so lucky.
Good one Chat. I watched the Dave Letterman clip. Boy, did he look scared. I wish he would confess. Makes me made how he made so much money all these years. No resepect at all for people.
Game changers one and all. Opee, Paul, Ringo, all had an impact on how we are today. Never before in the history of man have we been able to live our history as we are now.
@@tracymiller1149 nope no Botox, he's very strict about his diet and has overcome alcoholism and I don't think he did the drugs like the other three Plus Ringo has been married to his wife Barbara Bach too for years she helped him out too she was his strength. John Lennon once said that even if there never were The Beatles Ringo would have been famous any way. He said he just had that kind of personality. I believe that to be true.
Bill Taylor he was already in a popular band when the Beatles asked him to replace Pete Best.
he was actually already in a band before and it was more successful and famous than the beatles but then beatlemania happened and everything
Bill Taylor I agree.
But Paul said then when ever one of them would let being famous go to their head and start believing they were gods, they looked at Ringo and laughed ... and realised, nah .... we are just mortal men.

Which I have to say is really weird because usually your voice gets deeper as you age, not more nasally.

Amen! Their less than acclaimed songs would STAR in most other top bands’ repertoire. Four blokes from Liverpool made their collective creations highlight millions of others’ youth and entire lives. And the love, peace and happiness that permeates their work became part of us too.
What a fantastic interview. Can't wait to see the film 👍☺️
Great stuff, huh? Three of the most interesting people in history, together! Very cool.
Tim Byrd : Absolutely !!! Peace 👍☺️

The film is awesome. I won't spoil it, but the last 30 minutes is beyond description.
Phil M it was INCREDIBLE. absolutely wonderful. Make sure to stay right till the end!
Ringo is an amazing photographer too.☮❤
Ringo was the Heart and Soul of the group. He was the most charismatic Beatle. Imagine if Pete Best stayed with them. Its just an ordinary group.
He learned everything about photography from Linda. Lol
God damn Ringo looks like he's in his 40s 😂
I know, and he's older than Paul.
In Sheep We Trust I know haha
its spooky
Yea - I saw grey in his beard 30 years ago. I guess as they age they defy all reality. More power to the Rock Star!
More power to the 2017 Power Rangers movie.
Greatest band EVER and FOREVER!!! They were the four reasons I wanted to go into music was I was very young.
Never trust anyone who doesn't like the BeaTles.
All of the Paul is dead theorists, basically.
That's what Ozzy says too.
never trust anyone who thinks they're a Beatles expert...
G Town Dave ...words to live by! 👨👨👨👨👍
I’m just now understanding the line from Oliver Stone’s movie The Doors,
“C’mon Jim, The Beatles did it.”
Edit: as a kid that wanted to bang on pots and pans, I never realized how significant Ringo actually was either.
Looks great. I hope they do a Sequel....The Studio Years.
Good idea dude
I read something on line this week, that Ron Howard is thinking about doing a Beatles solo years documentary next.
That would be sick!!! Imagine all the stuff we could get. We could actually get to hear rare studio sessions throughout the Sgt Pepper era, never before seen interviews, and maybe some rare footage of them recording if there is any
No. It would show alot of fighting. We have enough of that.
Soap Soap What is Soap You can find those rare recordings all the way from pepper to abbey road on bootlegs. Most of those are uploaded to RUclips.
When Paul says ... "I was in the Beatles, he was in the Beatles : we are .... " and then tails off because he remembers they're not all there. Oh my...
A great little band. :-)
Paul think he can build a palace for earning a lot of money if he always keeping the sound of Beatles old songs not on his own WINGS.
Yes, I loved the way with "one for the money," Paul made me feel like I was right in the moment with how they'd instantly 'come together.'
Ringo's like a wine. The older, the better.
Carlos Eduardo do Nascimento Gomes so’s Paul really
They are both incredible - a testament to aging. Take good care of themselves.
i think the woman conducting this interview has the coolest vibe being personable and charming while leading the way thru this great interview.
Does anybody else get the feeling that any one of these three legends would be a great guy to sit and have a beer with ?
sure, but I'll choose either Paul or Ringo. Ron is great, but ......
TheVagolfer Three?
Look up on google----global truth project----click The Present. It answers all of life’s biggest questions and can turn this world right side up from the beginning of it. Nothing is more important than reading it.
TheVagolfer
Maybe not Ringo, he is a recovering alcoholic.
I mean I love Ringo and Ron is great too but passing up a chat with Paul? Youd be mad.
Paul has always come off as highly anxious. I can't believe how much energy he's always had and still has. Long live Ringo and Paul. 🇧🇷🎉🎈🍬
That's Gemini Sun and Moon in Leo influence.
And so he became the weed king within the band. Makes sense. Gotta _Slow Down_ 😉
Very big Paul fan, never got that impression
Yes, because he is Faul. Get it.
Will love The Beatles all of my life .They have had such a positive impact on my life and many others.
I just never tire of finding and learning whatever I can from these guys, anything and everything about them is always new to me, even 50 years after I first knew about them. They just keep getting better every day, The Beatles legacy will outlive us all.
Blessings from San Juan PR !!!
8:05. It's so cool to see Ringo get emotionally invested for a moment. What great and lucky guys!
I saw this film when in Madrid and absolutely loved it. It was a packed house, with subtitles in Spanish - and the whole audience was totally absorbed in it and clapped like crazy when it was over. Goes to show you, music is a universal language!
Even now, Paul still says "you know" after every sentence 😂 it's strangely comforting for me to hear that
Hello 👋how is the pandemic going over there? I'm delighted to meet you here. Where originally are you watching from? I'm Patrick Corey from California USA
Paul NEVER said "y'know" after every sentence
however billy for whatever reason always did that while trying to impersonate him
@@jonasrmb01 you must have given head to Paul, because you know so much about him?
@jonasrmb1624 who is Billy?
I want Paul and ringo to live forever, they have given so much joy to so many. Long live The Beatles, they'll never be another band as Shakespearean
No wonder my mom was in love with Paul... he's too cute! Love how funny and down to earth he is.
Hearing Paul talk about how they used to work together and not having John and George there is heartbreaking.
Charming and winsome as ever...and that includes Ron and the lovely interviewer.
Great interview. Love Paul and Ringo's honest enthusiasm about the documentary and the past. Looking forward to seeing the documentary. Watched the Shea Stadium footage on Book. Incredible!
the golden moment: Ringo making fun of Paul.
True family.
im that fan in the movie who shouts, RINGO YOUVE GOT A SEXY NOSE!
noic
Just kiddin
Había otra que decía que le gustaban las pestañas de George!😅😅
I love him completly! nose, mouth, eyes, hair... even now!
No, I am.
Ringo probably hasn't set foot in Liverpool since 1965 . He's struggling with the Scouse accent . His American twang is obvious . Why fight it , he's lived in America for over 40 years after all .
He has actually done a lovely documentary on 'going home' to Liverpool.
Ringo was in one of the roughest parts of Liverpool and he was sick for most of his childhood so it’s understandable if he doesn’t miss it that much
They both roll their "R's" like Americans i noticed. in stead of better with a pronounced double TT, they roll them like be-dd-a like an east-coast or relaxed Cali...
Pammie : Ringo has lived off and on in England, Monte Carlo and The United States since the 70's.
In Between it's not that rough I fact it is very nice with great people
You know when it was time they new it, but in the same sense they new they were the best and they gave the people what they wanted.
Ringo looks great! How does a 75 yo look 50?
Makeup and trick photography.
Booze...women and more booze!!!
or just being rich as fuck
All of the above
Hair dye, surgery?
The greatest band who brought joy and beautiful music. Never will there be another band like the beatles
Ringo does a Spongebob..love it.
Where?, when? I missed it.
@@kawasakiwhiptwo5821 10:27 It's basically the action Tom Kenny (voice of SpongeBob) does when he does the famous laugh
Ron Howard has such an incredible way of making you interested in anything he talks about.
McCartney has a clear straight forward way of explaining things.
Such a great filkm. Sounds amazing. The live stuff is mind blowing. They really rocked in concert. They were so much more than we realized growing up. They were heavy for such an early time.
What the film reinforces with the live footage is what a great rhythm section these two were. Ringo's kit sounds incredible throughout!
Love the ending when Ringo says Peace and Love like its still the 60s and 70s! ❤ ✌
Macca keeps swinging back on his chair, even in his 70s he's never quite lost the cheeky wee lad inside of him.
I was 4 when the Beatles hit the charts and one of my few childhood memories was hearing my first Beatle song and has been major enjoyment with me daily through out my life
my absolute heroes.icons doesn't BEGIN to cover it.i thank god i lived through the whole thing.
It's amazing to me that the tabloid press recently tried to say that Ringo went off the wagon and had to go back to rehab. Clearly, Ringo is the absolute picture of health and serenity!
My earliest memories is Beatles on The Sullivan Show. I saw Paul 4 times, once in Rome, Italy.
I saw Ringo once. He pointed to me.
paul oogled my (now ex) wife quite heavily; we were third row in atlanta, early 90s show. a strange feeling.
Yea, Ted Nugent gave my wife a very good compliment once.
Oogled??..not Googled?
I'm 21 yet I do enjoy listening to their music. My father is a huge fan of The Beatles. I grew up listening to some of their songs. I'm a fan of them too, and yes, I would like to know them more through films and documentaries. I would like to see and feel their era of legendary success. :)
Hamburg. I watched a bunch of RUclips video interviews with their friends and fellow musicians about the days in Hamburg. That was great.
"we made a record,we did a live gig,we did a photo shoot..then we had lunch" haha
6:59 Paul seems like he got emotionally after he said that “we are” thinking about John and George 🥺
If he would've kept going, then he would get emotional.
Imagine when he and Ringo finally sat and watched the film.
Paul and ringo are together on this. Nobody else. Rock on!
Can't wait to see it! 3 weeks ago I went to Abbey Road and two days later I was in Liverpool at Ringo, Paul George and John's boyhood homes. Back in Nova Scotia now with a Beatles hangover : )
Lovely interview, with smart fan questions. I can't wait to see it tomorrow!
This band is going huge after this movie, watch out !
Dont think so.
Lily Saxerud thats the joke
they already were dude.
It got me into them(18)
Fantasc queen actually became huge after their movie
I saw these guys in concert, on my 9th b-day
It was in Portland OR on 22 Aug 1965 they played for 35 mins, but it seemed longer
The Help album was released 2 wks before, I remember them singing Help and A Hard Day's Night
It was the best place to be on the planet
Happy Birthday!
@@laursie88 WOW Thank you, very much.
so unexpected
Ringo looks about 65, not 76.
Ron looks the oldest of the three.
Well, let's face it-these people have the money to get things done-he's worth about £100 million.
If anything looks like teeth and hair dye that's all they look great for there age I luv em man
they must have made a pact with the devil. they're evergreen. never aging.. there must be a dorian gray portrait hidden somewhere.... :) ♥
Yeah, hair dye/coloring will do that ;)
I came to the Beatles late on, i was about 12yrs old, a lad (same age) moved into a house a couple of doors down and he was Beatles mad, we became great friends and The Beatles magic rubbed off onto me, 45 years later still love their music, still as fresh today. ❤
I was 13 in 1964. I'm so glad I was the right age at the right time when Beatlmania exploded in the US. What an electrifying time. It's been 60 years now and this type of musical excitement and will never again be repeated. I feel so lucky.
Pretty unreal cool and all to see Opy and Paul and Ringo in the same piece and this is real!!
Am I the only one who Paul is making REALLY nervous tilting his chair back over and over again?
He's talking about something he hasn't lived.
Good one Chat. I watched the Dave Letterman clip. Boy, did he look scared. I wish he would confess. Makes me made how he made so much money all these years. No resepect at all for people.
I'm lost and sorry to but in, what happened that he needs to confess and what has he not lived?
read memoirs of billy shears
Chris Reed Apparently Paul was replaced with this guy in 1966
Wow! The Beatles will always be the best band in history.
Game changers one and all. Opee, Paul, Ringo, all had an impact on how we are today. Never before in the history of man have we been able to live our history as we are now.

Ringo was the oldest Beatle and he looks younger than Ron Howard now
Who would have thought Ringo would be the good looking one!
Good, clean living plus Botox.
He has been a strict vegetarian for decades, that helps.
@@tracymiller1149 nope no Botox, he's very strict about his diet and has overcome alcoholism and I don't think he did the drugs like the other three
Plus Ringo has been married to his wife Barbara Bach too for years she helped him out too she was his strength.
It is very important to have an emotional partner who is stable.
It works both ways ✌️🕊️☮️
Peace and 💕
