- Betrayal League and Expansion was more than just a revamping of the Master NPC System; it introduced a ton of new characters and dynamics between them. Jun Ortoi, a Maraketh woman and only remaining member of the Order of the Djinn, wants revenge on those who destroyed the Order. But can she be trusted? And will Zana ever return her calls? (Ok I didn't discuss that last part but seriously GGG, we want to know)

It that Fled is my favourite NPC, I just want to give it a cup of tea and a hug
Never noticed in game how smooth the Yun's killing animation is. It's a bit sad, much like lore, those elements tend to be underappreciated by the community and it's nice to see that the guys at ggg don't neglect them.
So fun fact, the name Cameria was created to create the word play that turned The Mall of America to Cameria's Maul. Source: I came up with it when creating my unique. The quotes on the items and cards related to him were written or edited by me. Avarice was my creation as well.

I would argue that Catarina killed or at least "drained" the other masters. Some of them seem afraid of "dying" and coming back and I could see them working with Catarina so she would not torture them by killing them and then resurrecting them again. Some of them might have joined her freely for power or pursuit of their own goals, but the dead must have had a difficult choice, die again or work for the crazy lady that just raised you from the dead.
One thing I remember though about the old Master system is how it used to bring some of us together for 5-10 minutes to run those dailies in groups. Sharing those was fun and fast.
I do miss being greeted by "Tala moana, warrior" while in a map.
I think Catarina's warning dialogue is just about Malachai and the Nightmare, in her own style of expressing/explaining things.

You can find dialogue like Einhar reaction on Krillson which hasn't been triggered ingame. But Leo's dialogue can be also find on there.
I always love pre-betrayal Catarina. Her philosophy on death and playful style were great.
I still think her old dialog is a warning and that she is doing all that to prevent the darkness creating a inmortal imperium, thinking to herself that the she will be able to stop it like that
now i know why jun hates janus that much, she alwasy screams " Im gonna kill you janus all the time she sees him " x)
What i kinda miss in this Video, is some Relation between Catarina and the other Syndicate Members. Especially in the Mastermind FIght, she allways fights with the 4 Current Safehouse Leaders, 1 by 1, u slay those, and she allways says some not so Kind Words to them, concluding that she was allways only "friendly" to mere use these People, or that she is simply Angry on their Weak Performances "protecting" the Syndicate itself. No Matter what, i found those Talks intresting and found myself dying in the Fight because i was listening to what she said :D Would have loved to see some deeper Dive in this Video here. But Great Job nonetheless :)

I remember when the Forsaken Masters were introduced. As much as I liked them, their missions quickly became repetitive and some a serious nuisance (Vorici often oneshot me during his master missions when he reached level 7). I enjoyed their dialogue, though, and miss hearing it on occasion.

When I first saw Catarina, her wings immediately made me think of Abyss. And during her boss battle, while most things are the Catarina green, certain abilities have the Abyss green. There's not much on Kulemak, but can the Horns be an Abyss artifact? All the associations with undeath and darkness make a lot of sense in that light (hah)

Finally a lore video about my favourite league so far, i'm kinda dissapointed, i thought the syndicate's goal was, something deeper than world domination, but hey, still is awesome, thanks for the video!
tbf, while the means are bad, catarina doesn't seem to want to dominate more than bring order.
it seems to me that world domination isn't the end, but a tool to bring peace and eternal life.
I played since back when Vorici was still a master and didn't know about his interest in thaumaturgy. It suddenly makes sense why he gives out quality gems if you stick him in Transportation

Trivia:
- The Brotherhood of Silence that Vorici belonged to has been mentioned before, with its other member being Coralito, the assassin who executed Mayor Ondar after the rebellion (before that was retconned into Chitus killing Ondar before dying). Coralito and the Brotherhood is also mentioned in several uniques' flavor text.
- Aisling may or may not be a former Renegade, the fourth Warband faction. Renegades are the chaos warband, and some of Alsling's attacks and her personal veiled mod connect to chaos damage. She also has an edgy nickname similar to other Renegade leaders.
- It Thet Fled's name mimics Breach fodder monsters, like It That Watches and It That Reaches. This also extends to Fled's nicknames for other members.
Also, I think it's unnecessary to read out loud large chunks of in-game text like lore entries, dialogue windows, or entire conversations. Condensing them to their main point would work better and save a bit of time, and full text appears on the screen anyway.

I thought you gonn go into details about Syndicate members and how their stories intertwine. Like why Cameris sometimes says "Like in the old days" and whatnot. But it's mostly about general things and Catarina.
Thane is a title, roughly meaning king (but generally a smaller patch of land than an entire country as we'd know it.
Yeah, that's what I assumed. But then I thought about how Rigwald killed King Skoathe of Ezomyr and became "Thane Rigwald, Wolven King" and I was like...ok...not sure why he's now Thane and King? So just wanted to cover my bases, and maybe wishful thinking. Haha
It's closer to a Baron than a King, and it isn't uncommon for particularly powerful individuals to have multiple titles. Than Rigwald, Wolven King, Recoverer of Talismans, First of His Name.
@@neraphruneblade7903 ahh, so there could be multiple Thane's, and Rigwald just title hoarded probably. That's likely it. Although I do wonder why Jorgin wears a wolf head hat, when Rigwald had to leave the Ezomytes once the Greatwolf took over him. Would love to know more about the Ezomytes in general!

Love this series makes the game so much more interesting I dont play much o first started playing when the harbinger league was just ending and I think the bestiary league was after that one? Or vice versa I remember playing those 2 mostly just recently got back onto the game and there were a tone of changes i didn't know about the masters being one of the big ones lol.
One quick suggestion thought for future episodes I dont really care in what order you go in because it's all interesting but just from this episode might be a good idea to go over the older stuff first? Before it's just gone out of the game if that does happen at all might make it easier on yourself :)

Wait... I haven't played for a while due to technical issues... Are you telling me, they add an expansion that reworked some of the in game systems... And they made it Lore friendly by tying it to relevant events?

I was under the impression that Catarina killed them all
on leo : he is scared by haku and catarina, likes tora, dislikes vorici, admires vagan but hates that he won't shut up, and likes zana
the other masters don't talk about him.
vagan likes tora, but doesn't love her, saying "he's not a fan of claw marks on his arse"
opposite with elreon
everybody likes zana except elreon, vorici wants to get laid with her "if only she would lift her nose off of her books." (or maybe maps)
catarina says vagan would make a fine corpse, and vagan wants her dead too.
leo is scared by her, but doesn't dislike her.
I don't think tora actively dislikes catarina, I read the dialog as a neutral-sh "she searches the truth" and given how tora wants to know more about the corruption, I'd go as far as saying she likes her.
also, zana doesn't talk about other masters (being too focused on her books and maps).
haku is seen as a strong warrior by most and about everyone except elreon likes him. (though leo fears him)

I do think that it's a different timeline, where catarina recruited the masters before we ever met them. and while what she does may scare most of them, she could've convinced them.
What about a video on conspiracy theories? Like there are some about fishing, some about our reality being only a dream and the real people are the guys from Poe 2 and many many more

I missed the entire Betrayal League. I guess in the end, they just rewrote a lot of parts about the former masters.

From the trailers and in game characters, people have pronounced it "juhn". There can be some variance in pronouncing between characters but haven't heard "Joon"
