As a nail tech if the nails are applied and removed correctly your nails should not end up like this. You have onycholysis which means the nail has separated from the nail bed, with the gap between the nail and nail bed you really need to be sure to keep them as clean as possible to avoid any bacteria building up. As a rule I wouldn’t put extensions on a client with this condition as it provides the perfect environment for bacteria to grow. Yours doesn’t go to far down but I couldn’t scroll passed without trying to help. 🙂
My nails looked identical to this a few years ago - not yellow or anything but the white tips protruding down (they weren’t separating from the beds) turned out to be a fungal nail infection and has been a b*tch to treat!
@@Floressa get Onyx professional soak off nail remover and then get nail clips. just soak some paper towels in the nail remover, put it on your nails and put the clips over your fingers and the soaked paper towels. just wait 30 min to an hour.
On the nails that you have onycholysis, keep your nails as short as possible, to give the nail bed a chance to grow out and reattach to the growing nail. Otherwise you are risking the nail detaching completely, and/or developing pseudomonas, which can permanently damage your nail. Speaking from experience!!
@@shannon9180 it's where the nail separates from the nail bed. The best way to treat it is to cut it very short And keep it clean. The danger is if water gets trapped underneath, as this can cause an infection called pseudomonas (also called greenies). If successful, the nail bed will re attach naturally as it grows. If it isn't successful, it can cause damage or permanent loss of the nail. I'm currently trying to grow my right thumb nail out again, but it's a problem I've had on and off for years. One of the causes of onycholysis is having very long nails, as it puts pressure on the nail bed that it cannot cope with. Traditionally, the longest length you should have on your nail is twice a long a your nail bed is wide. This is because that proportion doesn't overload your nail bed, or the nail plate. However, partly due to the fashion for extremely long nails, onycholysis is becoming more common. It is also imperative that you keep your nails scrupulously clean, as this will cut down on the chances of infection. Besides, dirty nails are just... wrong.
Same, I am still not good at them but I hope I get better soon especially at the designs. I can't find myself the correct fake nails so I do have to use the acrylic type on my whole nail but it still turns out great
For me I start with my pinky nail on both sides then work my way up to the thumb nails. I find it easier for me to put the nails on. But when I polish the nails I do start with the pinky so I don't screw up the other nails. 👍
I am a nail technician and my advice is put one drop of tea tree oil in the finger nails every morning and night....it will restore the nail completely....
So here are a few rlly good tips for whoever are going to do presson nails like this. 1. I highly recommend using base coat as glue because it is so much stronger than glue .... I'm serious like ur nails feel sooo sturdy like acrylics and it rlly lasts. 2. If ur gonna do nail art then it's so much easier to get a nail stand ( just search on amazon) and also get takky putty to help hold ur nail on the stand. These are all on Amazon. Trust me ur nail arts are gonna be fire especially if u struggle with non dominant hand lol GL.
I just ordered these nail tips, I loved them!! The fact that they are coffin and thin not chunky looking. I had never seen this brand before but I loved them. @@latifa3505 Hey, well I did, BUT they are too long and if I cut them it will loose it's shape. Oh, and I found the glue that works for me after trying so many out there. I saw this RUclipsr and she loves and swears by Gorilla Glue, and let me tell you...IT WORKS!!! Lovely! So easy and beautiful! Great when you need nails ASAP!💗 I love using the 1-2-3 Go or Apres system when I don’t feel like doing my own acrylics. My nails were like that but not as much. I just had a few nails like that and that’s because the nails were not removed correctly! Almost fully healthy and back to how they were now thankfully! But I’m so bad for just picking at them and taking them off lol. They can be fixed in time but only if cared for and you don’t use anymore false nails. As acrylics shouldn’t and don’t do that if removed properly. If anyone wants to know how to remove. You should always buff the surface of nail then soak a cotton pad in acetone put on the nails and wrap with foil for about 20-30 or less (you can check in between to see if coming off) and if still not off then wrap again and then should come up with cuticle stick. Once all your nails are off and clean. I like to get my cuticle remover, (removes all the dead skin and build up around the cuticle) I like to leave it on for 1 minute, then just remove with my cuticle pusher. Then use cuticle oil and hand cream after that to hydrate the nails! If you’re not putting anymore back on then maybe just a nail strengthener on top! Trying to grow my own out but this routine always works! Clear nail polish and strengthener always helps makes the nail stronger and healthier!
