just a couple pointers, dont dip your brush into the monomer and then tap on a paper towel because youre loosing product,instead hold it on the inside of the glass you are using abpove the monomer that way you are not wasting the monomer and you have no excess. hope this helps xx another ting is when you are smoothing or whatever with monomer be very concious about not putting it on the skin because you can actually DEVELOP and allergy to the monomer which is very bad because like you said you love acrylics,also make sure to be concious about your apex/structure and thickness, its all in the structure these things are also important if you want to start doing clients nails also if you do long nails on a client if you plan of making a small buisness then hold the base of the nail when filing its alot more comfortable so that way they don’t have sore and red nails after the session x Also I feel like it has to be said that people should be moderately gentle with the clients hand because I’ve had my nails done quite rough before and it was a very unpleasant experience which should not be the case,it should be calming and relaxing to take a break so make the client feel special and be gentle as much as possible whilst still maintaining a good quality of work,with that combination you will start to have returning customers gaining those nail tech client relationships you hear about all the time, especially in movies 😂😂💖 i just want to clarify that i had this comment intention to help you with your nails to provide some information you may or may not know,hopes this helps keep doing what your doing cuz those nails are looking fabulous!!

Nail tech here! GIRLLLL these are great!! First time??!?! I wish my first set of nails looked like that lol you should seriously consider practicing more and become a nail tech 🤷🏻♀️ im surprised with the products you use! I use Valentino and they’re my favorite. For the powder to liquid ratio, watch a video for it but a tip is before picking up a bead make sure there’s no bubbles by pushing the brush down in the dappen dish with the monomer. Then dip and again and wipe half the brush against the walls of the dappen dish, and when you go pick up the bead, use the side you didn’t press against the wall of the dappen dish, to pick up the powder TAP don’t drag into the acrylic, the more liquid and the more you tap into powder the bigger the bead. I hope that helped! 💟✨

All the small businesses are still open ppl are still out and about here just because they're refusing to test ppl here so every one is like "oh well we're gonna die as a city!" lol
Tip from a nail tech if you want them to look extra pro, saturate your brush with nail liquid then dip into dry acrylic powder to make sure the acrylic isn’t too runny! :)
since you’re a nail tech can i ask what other way can u get your nails besides acrylic? i peeped she said “i know acrylic is damaging” so o was curious
@@jcardosa02 it’s a bit newer and more expensive, but if you can find a tech that uses bio sculpture it’s the closest I can to harden natural nails and give the acrylic effect. I’ve also tried poly gel on some clients, however it’s not as strong as acrylic. If you give your nail beds a break from being occluded by acrylic, you should be okay in the long run!! :) hope this helps!!
A tip that might help you with your acrylic application is if you dip the brush in once then just gently brush one side off and then use the other one the is mostly wet :)

They actually do get damaged from getting your nails done hun. I've been a nail artist for 13 years and I've worked at high end nail salons from Los angels to new York city, and even at the most expensive and experienced technicians, your nails still get damaged. Rather there getting brittle or your nails stop growing which cause your nail beds to look awful, then ofcourse you have the issues with things that you can't see with the naked eye. Not to mention the health risks even tho they are rare they do indeed happen. If you get a cut and the supplies used gets in your cut , the reason being is infection in your blood stream . There has been to many ppl that have died from it as well. So moral of the story is getting acrylic nails can and will damage your nails your real ones and you won't always see the damage

My nails are naturally super thin & it’s been over 2 years now I’ve been getting enhancements 1 time a month and I have no consequences. Again - sure it can give minor damage to the nail but it literally just grows out. The only damage I know and have seen is from allergic reactions - & that’s from the majority of nail enhancement products. Getting a cut has nothing to do with getting acrylics. There are risks to anything in life but that doesn’t mean people stop doing things. Especially if you go to someone who is trusted to work thoroughly and according to standard. Maybe I don’t get it because my bails have always been weak - and getting acrylics actually give me strong nails. When I get them removed my nails are just as before - weak. Perhaps someone with strong and long natural nails would experience more ill effects. 🤷♀️

Waaaahhh fab job for your first time/any time. I decided to start doing my own after hopping around to so many stylists. I like mine long and ornamented and I felt like I was never getting exactly what I wanted. So I bought everything and have been doing gelX but I miss acrylic and how hard it is. I just ordered some stuff for acrylic and it will arrive tomorrow. Soaking my gelX nails tonight and watching this video has given me a lot more confidence. Summer Atkinson the title of the video is literally doing my acrylics for the first time not doing an ombré for the first time. I think she straight up LIED and then gave herself away by saying regular would be too easy for her as a cover up. Dunno why it would matter to put for the first time either way because her nails turned out way better than any first timers attempts.

I used to get my nails done all the time in my twenties. I was bored & recently taught myself how to do some of the basic nails but not the acrylic. I prefer the look of acrylic although the other is also nice. I like that you did yours thin. That’s the look I want. I’ll be 13 in October and I’ve always wanted to do nails for fun and this quarantine really motivated to start practicing!! And I recently was allowed to get acrylics and I’ve realized that the nail salon that I go to wasn’t doing my nails right because they would come off super easily and I also noticed that there wasn’t an apex built !! So now I’m going to do my own nails 😭😊

Sulaf Almazrooi Honestly, at least for me anyways, acrylic is wayyy easier to work with. Every time I paint my nails it looks like a 5-year-old did it, but acrylics always turn out great, I think because it is thicker than polish, so easier to manage, imo.

girl, GET POLYGEL!!! look at yt videos of it, as long as you can mold play-doh into certain shapes (like lots of 5 year olds can do) then you can work with polygel, especially dual-forms. all you need is patience for polygel, not skill.

Some people nails are weak because acrylics have never messed up my nails and I definitely don’t do the “proper care” when taking them off 😂

Waaaahhh fab job for your first time/any time. I decided to start doing my own after hopping around to so many stylists. I like mine long and ornamented and I felt like I was never getting exactly what I wanted. So I bought everything and have been doing gelX but I miss acrylic and how hard it is. I just ordered some stuff for acrylic and it will arrive tomorrow. Soaking my gelX nails tonight and watching this video has given me a lot more confidence. I’m glad you didn’t see it as a “tutorial” because as you learned from your mistakes I realized I would have made those exact same mistakes. So thank you! Beautiful work!

I think she straight up LIED and then gave herself away by saying regular would be too easy for her as a cover up. Dunno why it would matter to put for the first time either way because her nails turned out way better than any first timers attempts.

I have those tips but the coffin shaped ones. I recommend Mia Secret powder & monomer, and that Young Nails primer. It’s great!

I used to get my nails done all the time in my twenties. I was bored & recently taught myself how to do some of the basic nails but not the acrylic. I prefer the look of acrylic although the other is also nice.

I’ll be 13 in October and I’ve always wanted to do nails for fun and this quarantine really motivated to start practicing!! And I recently was allowed to get acrylics and I’ve realized that the nail salon that I go to wasn’t doing my nails right because they would come off super easily and I also noticed that there wasn’t an apex built !! So now I’m going to do my own nails 😭😊

Sulaf Almazrooi Honestly, at least for me anyways, acrylic is wayyy easier to work with. Every time I paint my nails it looks like a 5-year-old did it, but acrylics always turn out great, I think because it is thicker than polish, so easier to manage, imo.

Sulaf Almazrooi I was really nervous to try at first, but there are lots of step-by-step instructional videos on youtube and I found that those made it really easy for my first time. :)
Even nail techs say that getting a perfect polish job can be the hardest lol I feel thats why most don't and just use their colored powders
girl, GET POLYGEL!!! look at yt videos of it, as long as you can mold play-doh into certain shapes (like lots of 5 year olds can do) then you can work with polygel, especially dual-forms. all you need is patience for polygel, not skill.
