That’s actually Competition because it has to start somewhere. I remember seeing the first Sony DSLRs and thinking “They need to stick to TV’s & Stereo’s”…Well they have forced me to eat my words and the best thing is they forced every other manufacturer to totally change their R&D and I am now a big fan and owner. Haha

@@JohnyMcNeal Sony always price their products high. I am only interested in the audio and visual department only. If i like it, I will buy it.
As a very contented S23 Ultra owner looking in, I have to say that I admire where Sony is with it's smartphone camera systems. They are more for people who either know about photography or who want to know about photography. They go easy on sharpening and processing and saturation to give more natural results (even in auto mode) than on other flagship devices. They don't do all the work for you. The overheating issues of the past have hopefully been overcome now as this put me off getting one a few years ago. The price will be high, but quality doesn't often come cheap. I hope Sony have some deserved success with this device.
Someone tested it and recorded 4k 120fps for 4 hrs and no overheating.
Also the phone is 1k at PDA Plaza Canada.
It's incredibly worth it.
That is thanks to the gen 2 processor. A must
That's why I wait for the Xperia Pro I Mark 2. The predecessor had overheating issues and with the new processor this problem should be solved.

Why do people care so much about the holes or notches? I haven’t even noticed them in years. Just feels like one of those things people choose to complain about because they need something to complain about.

@@LiveAndLaughs Having a random spot in your display with no pixels is infuriating. I use the 1 III, and whenever I use a Galaxy or iPhone the first thing I notice is the camera cutout. It's equivalent to having a faulty display with dead pixels.

Plugging the phone in and bypassing the Battery is freakin genius. A feature I did not know I need - brilliant.

Of all the simultaneously released Xperia 1 V videos co-ordinated by the Sony marketing team, this is by far the best. Every single video made a point about the user interface in the Photography Pro and Video Pro apps supporting portrait mode because it was likely directed by Sony to call out - but you were the only creator to point out that it doesn't work with the phone upside down. Respect.

I’m a mobile cinematographer - and until 2021 I was always shooting with iPhone but now I’ve been shooting documentaries and drama using the Sony Xperia mobiles and love the results. On Tuesday I’m collecting the Sony Xperia 1 V and will shooting a short drama later in the week with it - can’t wait 🎉👍🏻 love your videos

The front facing camera has been upgraded to the point i think is even better than my 14 pro max, what an insane amount of detail and quality on rear and front cameras, i was afraid of 1 Mk IV because of overheating but seems sony has done it right this time, awesome work!
Old XZ series had excellent selfies ( except xz2/xz2c).
Mark 4's chipsets were made by....Samsung. A lot of Android phones from last year suffered a similar fate.
I was able to have it overheat...in Egypt under 40 degrees Celsius and after shooting photo and video like a maniac but not ever since
I know you've probably heard this a million times but you are THE best youtuber for reviewing cameras. I thoroughly enjoy every video you upload even when I don't comment and I watch a LOT of youtube and a lot of tech youtubers. Thank you for all your hard work and for giving us honest and deep insights into all these products!

Nice to see this video has up to 2160p option available, unlike the own's phone promotional video which was uploaded in a mediocre (besides blurry and pixelated) 1080p resolution.
Absolutely the best review video I seen in a while. And finally fixed front camera. While keeping the SD card, even they didn't mention it in official Sony promo, but you did. This is now a complete one

Dunno why people keep harping on this, android has been pretty much the same since kitkat, and in my 10+ years of xperia + android usage I've never had any security issues, each update of android makes the user experience more lengthy and complex is all. To me Sony is the best mobile on earth, samdung and nipple come 50 trillion leagues below.

I have my Xperia 1 from 2019 i can tell you there are no issues at all with that, quality phone i want change it for now, and my next one will be a Sony Xperia :)

fabulous video as always! I haven't had a sony phone since the Sony Xperia XZ Premium, it was the last model to come to Australia and i had won it in a competiton. Since then it's been Samsung right up to the S23 Ultra currently

Great review - the best on YT, so far. I'm curious which filter mount/adapter you use for Android phones like this to use ND filters. Pretty hard to find one which is capable of leveraging 67mm of diameter

Çıktığı tarih itibariyle 4k 24fps frame atlamadan kayıt yapabilmesi (her ne kadar süre zafiyeti olsa da ısı özlü) Harika bir kulaklık çıkışı ve Walkman uygulaması. Hiç donmayan takılmayan ve 3 yıl aralıksız sistem güncellemesi alan vs gibi malzeme işçilik ve kullanım keyfi ile tadı damağımda kalan bir makinaydı. Umarım bir gün ülkemizin ekonomik durumu toparlanır ve ülke sınırlarında satış yapma kararı alır Sony, ilk müşterileri kesinlikle ben olurdum. Çok keyifli bir video daha geldi sizden. What a great phone. You did a great job explaining and showing the features of this hightech device. It seems that leap from 3 to 5 are greater than from the first to the 1³. For now im thrilled since i got the Exp 1³. Its older than two years now and the battery are pretty much the same as it was when i bought the phone. Great Work.

Awesome review, very detailed w.r.t. Sony's strengths.
How is the flashlight/torch? Does the touchscreen become unusable or start registering random keypresses in rain/shower/totally submerged? (One of the Nexus phones, 5X or 6P, was the last water resistant phone I can remember that didn't spaz out underwater.) Probably still no glove mode? (for non-touchscreen-enabled gloves) Closest focus distance in the main shooter? Also, hopefully the native alpha support goes all the way to the cheaper & older models e.g. a6000.

As long as the phone's temperature problem is resolved, this is a really good thing. The rest of the things are always special at Sony. I liked this phone a lot. I can't wait. I will get it as soon as it's released.

the overheating wasnt really sonys fault, even the xiaomi 12 with the sd8 gen 1 overheated too

Overheating is resolved, only gets warm while charging and gaming but never overheat

I love Sony and used many Sony products since the 80s. I bought 3 Vaio computers before 2 still with me, but due to capacity I don't use them, used Sony 8mm video camera 22 years ago, Sony portable CD player, MiniDisc, Walkmans, speakers, deck amplifier, and LP players, earphones, etc. I was a Sony man. Don't buy a Sony phone, because of the price and performance, but I know they have made everything with quality stuff.

I remember that years ago the _Sony_ (and I do not know if they were still *_Ericsson_* in the _Z3_ or which) had as an accessory a microphone that connected to the audio jack and had a cover to reduce noise in case of wind.

Great video wow !btw thinking to switch from S23Ultra. But I have questions guys. Everytime should I make manual settings for a capture? Because it's a mobile phone and in our pocket so whenever see something, we want to take out of the pocket and capture immediately. So S23 ultra and the most of them do that. How about 1V? Is basic or full auto mode is also great as manual mode?

Camera has a new 1inch sensor .low light photos incredible detail. Optical Zoom crystal clear.
Sound for movies in Dolby Atmos on phone is incredible.

Great review, but I was curious if allow 3.5 external microphone and if the audio recording support 24bit.
The audio jack supports 24-bit/192kHz audio, if that's what you are asking
The main reason the Sony is attractive to me is the slim design, as an adjuster I need my camera to be extremely mobile for taking photos on a ladder or on a roof.

There are four things I would be curious to know about this Xperia 1V. 1. Is it possible to have 48MP shots? 2. Are the photos saved in JPEG or HEIC? 3. Does it support advanced RAW similar to Apple's ProRAW? 4. What color profile are the images saved in sRGB or DisplayP3?

The dedicated shutter button and focus peek is something Apple should add to their Pro phones. (Also would be nice if Apple brought some of the Sony pro apps with the Sony lenses as well, but I doubt that will happen.)
Keep waiting for it…… Apple won’t add that. They want their phones to be simple for everyone.
Just get a sony, they're already better than iphones so why wait for something so unlikely?
