    1:51 Actually all rear cameras can burst at 30 fps (Hi+) and 20 fps with HDR, both I believe are world's first for a smartphone. Come to think of it, I think Sony's the first as well for focus breathing compensation on the Xperia 1 IV as well.
    8:54 Cinema Pro isn't meant for "spontaneous shooting", that's what Video Pro is for.

    Many reviews misunderstand how to use CinemaPro app, and this is one of them. The app is meant for a project based workflow, meaning that it's much more structured than shooting a vlog, for example. That's what videopro is for.
    S-Cinetone isn't in Cinema Pro because it has the Venice CS profile in it.

    Rack focus definitely needs to be added to the video pro app, I can't count the times when I needed it and it could've been extremely useful for me. Cinema pro is such a different system with such a hugely different output that it doesn't work as a substitute.
    And we finally need to get a couple of other features and bugs fixed:
    - Clipping zebras.
    - The ability to enable features that need another feature turned off first (maybe allow us to do this after displaying a message that says "warning: this function will turn off" instead of having them greyed out).
    - Sony needs to finally fix the infinity manual focus bug where if you switch lenses while you have manually set your focus to infinity, it'll default like 1/5th of the bar lower.
    - PLEASE fix the RAW file softness as well as the EXTREMELY problematic color rings that appear in low light RAW scenarios on all lenses, I know for a fact that's an issue coming from their vignetting removal solution that for some reason applies to the RAWs too.
    - An RGB histogram.
    - The upgrade on the telephoto and ultrawide sensors we desperately need.
    There's a lot more, but all of these are great upgrades for the next generation.

    • @zsomborszarka2616
      @zsomborszarka2616 11 месяцев назад +2

      I am not sure raw softness is a problem, when i shoot raw, i want the information, what the sensor sees. If the pictures are soft, it should be fixed by the user since its raw... And can you elaborate about the ring?

    And I would say the photos are great and you can push it to peak levels, but it falls short when shooting videos. I had an LG phone and it could shoot better videos than the current one I'm having. This is not that below average but definitely not upto the level of its hype. Sony makes my favorite cameras, and definitely feel like I can take the best smartphone pictures with the Xperia phones, having said that I know how to handle a mirrorless camera, I wouldn't recommend this kind of phone to regular users that just want to point and click and get decent pictures... What I'm trying to say is, I'm glad that companies like Sony create options for a very specific demographic, buying and Xperia phone is more like buying a small mirrorless camera with a smartphone integrated to it and not the other way around, is like buying a camera accessory.

    CinemaPro app development has strayed away after original Xperia 1. Many intended features have not been implemented because new team went into developing VideoPro app. They didn't even fix N/A color setting which boosts contrast a lot and thus crushes blacks easily. Actually they havent ported VideoPro output qualityu to CinemaPro. If you shoot both in the same scene and with the same settings such as framerate, shutter speed, white balance, dynamic range mode, hlg you will notice the difference in image quality right away. CinemaPro is just inferior even when in Venice CS or N/A mode.

The phone uses rather plain, uninteresting defaults and almost expects you to edit the photos yourself if you want an image to "pop". Sometimes the auto mode makes weird choices and I had to put it on another mode to change it myself.
      The auto-mode isn't bad, but I wouldn't recommend this phone if you mostly point-and-shoot. You must have a desire to play around with it to get pleasing results. You will be disappointed if you expect this phone to shoot good and interesting pics on auto.
