    Anything worth building takes time. The LS platform is the new sbc, but for those willing to take the time and spend the money, the Buick, Olds and Pontiac platforms are all good competitors. I personally prefer the purest platform, and would have went pure Pontiac power

    Tommy, you are soOOoo right about the book not going dark or running our of battery. It also is a great place to make quick notes for when actual reassembly happens. "Don't forget...."

    Tommy is the master ! He makes this stuff look easy. A GTO should have a proper Pontiac engine, I agree with the comments posted. Probably hard to find a decent 389 block anymore. Nice build though 👍

    Interesting they didn’t choose to box and reinforce the frame. It’s a pretty common upgrade when you have the body off. Might just be overkill for the build I guess.

    Wow, how original. An LS swap. For God’s sake put that thing in the Nova or a Chevelle where it belongs.

    Sad you didn't take the time to track down a pontiac motor for it . A LS is cool and all,but they're like buttholes , Everyone has one

    First orders, I amLS’D out.
    Why not a Pontiac motor. Readily available.
    Don’t care if it’s numbers matching stay, Pontiac
    Second of all, no one puts thread locker on motor mounts. Well, except you.

    it should go in the trash.....why why why would you ever put a boat anchor LS in a poncho......a good ole D port 400 would walk that ls and keep that poncho poncho power.....waste of a great car

    Tuff thing about the engine choice is that a properly built Pontiac is so expensive you can basically do most of the LS swap for just the cost of the Pontiac engine. If you have a good Pontiac drivetrain you should keep it but if you don’t the LS is cheaper more reliable power.

      Are you really crying about putting a GM engine in a GM car? I guess we’re all lucky it’s NOT YOURS. Y’all are ridiculous and need a friend or something. These guys are some of the last gearhead shows on tv. Let them be

    • @craighansen7594
      @craighansen7594 6 дней назад +3

      If it wasn't a real GTO the LS would be a good choice. Even though the numbers matching driveline was gone a Pontiac engine would have been more interesting.

    • @zachbrooks3897
      @zachbrooks3897 5 дней назад

      You Pontiac guys are weirdos. The gto was alright. At best. But an “icon”? Way overrated. Besides, Pontiac motors were anemic and underpowered. They kinda sucked. You have to throw a mountain of cash at them in machine work and aftermarket parts just to get them to make decent power. Pass.

    • @lones1878
      @lones1878 4 дня назад +2

      That LS they’re putting in there will cost more and make 100 ft/lb less than any decent home built 455. Plus it’s ugly as sin.
