Growing old is interesting, to say the least. Now, I'm looking through my glasses to see George looking through his glasses to see the setting on his foot pedal, that he has a hard time getting up from these days, lol! I remember seeing Dokken open for Aerosmith and leaving right after his solo in the last song. Smith's hit was Love in an Elevator, so you can imagine how many strange looks we got heading out of the arena that night...mamories.
I am a believer of Don when he said he would just roll tape and loop the lead breaks and let George solo and then splice sections together because every time I have seen George or watch him on RUclips his playing is all over the place and honestly makes no sense. He hits on something cool now and then but to me sounds like he's trying to be too abstract and playing over his head doesn't work. Don knew every 8 or 9 measures he'd find a diamond 😊..I loved Dokken don't get me wrong but live Lynch has always left me scratching my head saying why did he stray so far from the original version and play nonsense instead. Strange cat.
as a guitarist, I agree....I have seen Lynch play live 10+ times, He has great chops....but he has ZERO improv ability... I am not even sure if he understands musical "key" or playing in a certain key. and he always strays off into nonsense land....this video is a fine example ! no groove, no swing, no pocket, off key diddly diddly in lynch land. still love his riffs, but he is sometimes too odd.
@@TANTRUMGASM phew, glad someone else sees what I see, I hear you and agree 100%. Great solos and songs on those albums but live just a total mess, no sense, non musical, devoid of any structure or melody. Every live video of him is a perfect example..lol..
I never could hear the greatness with this guy I really don't get why some people think he's so great, most overrated guitar player ever even in his prime.
does he know there is a bass and drums laying down a groove? can he not hear it? his playing is like he cant hear the beat or key? just diddlying around ,why even have them playing?

SRV opened for Plant
Did the same
Tho we did then run into Brian Setzer as well
(Stray Cats)
I remember that tour. Dokken/George were the only reason I went.
You didn’t miss anything. I saw that your too. Aerosmith was terrible. They sounded better on drugs.
@@jackb348 You're not the first to tell me that, lol! Peace to you and yours!
Looks like he's playing at a food court around 11 am opening for the taco truck.

I like it when he strikes a note to dive bomb and it fails to ring out. It's a new trick. I call it a dying chime bomb. He does it all the time.
