    Wow! Awesome information. I went to a dealership and they tried to sell me replacement tire sensors for $300 each. They never mentioned replacing batteries. They checked tire pressure on 4 tires, not the spare. I will check all 5 tires now and see what happens. It's so good to know there are good honest people who care about customers. GOD bless you. Thank you.

    Our Nissan 3500 van gets this occasionally in the winter, temps drop below freezing. Needs to be kept above 45 MPH for a few minutes, then it resets.

    Will the car pass state inspection w/that tire pressure light on? Is there anyway to check how good is the battery on the TPM sensor after you remove it. I think it would be good to know when you replace tires. On our 2009 Nissan Sentra that light came for no reasons. I checked tire pressure, it was higher than standard 33 psi for that car. I lowered the pressure and the sign went into blinking mode. Is it in learning mode or it is blinking bcs the sensor is mulfunctioning and the standard pressure looks too low for it. I measured the pressure w/multiple devices, on all 4 wheels of course. Thank you for the informative film.

    So on an indirect system if you had a one badly worn tire it would tell you that tire was low pressure because it would be turning at a higher revolution than the others . Interesting . Thanks for the insight

    I have Hyundai Ioniq 2017. If TPMS Warning light did not go off after putting correct air in tyres. . Don't Panic. Don't panic. If the low pressure sensor stays on your dashboard after you have put air in to bring pressure up to correct number. Just wait maybe 10 minutes - or 5 miles or so, and the yellow sensor on the dashboard will disappear. Job done. Don't panic. Give it time to adjust. Nuff said.

    Okay, but not for nothing. You just went through a whole video explaining what most of us already know. My wife's car, a 2016 Honda Accord Coupe (Indirect System) actually has a reset. After checking your tire pressure and making sure that all the tires have the correct pressure, you simply use the recalibrate feature to recalibrate the system. My 2009 Nissan Maxima I believe also uses an Indirect System but doesn't have a reset feature. I think the best way to determine which system your car or truck has is that if your vehicle gives you individual readings like my 2015 Ram 1500 does, then you have a Direct System. It displays all 4 individual tires and their corresponding pressures and lets me know which one is low. When you just get that "Low Tire Pressure Warning" light, more than likely it would be an Indirect System. Then you have to check each individual tire to see which one is low. But there is no way to reset the "Low Tire Pressure Warning" light on my Nissan Maxima. It would have to be taken to either the dealer or a tire shop for it to be replaced, which I already knew.

    • @stevewalter1256

      I worked at Goodyear Engineering in Akron from 1986 to 2001. In 1988 I was testing new developments in these federal mandated TPMS system, which cost about $300-$400 per vehicle (cost the the OEM manufacturer... your cost would be about double that). As we let air out of the tires in steps of 3PSI, then drove for 30-minutes, we found that certain shoulder tread elements would produce a "rumble" sound and then an obnoxious vibration in the steering wheel as the tire becomes over-deflected, all this BEFORE THE TPMS WARNED US.
      If the tires were molded with bold blocks on at least one tread edge, then THE TIRE WARNS YOU ALL BY ITSELF. The cost to adopt this design feature would have been less than $0.50/tire, or $2.50 per vehicle. But the always more-brilliant feds mandated the electronic sensor -based system for hundreds pf dollars per vehicle, and then which has costly malfunctions down the road.
      I wrote up a patent disclosure on the concept, but Goodyear declined to go for the patent because the government had already decided to require the electronic systems. And by working inside Goodyear Engineering, the compsny OWNS ANY IDEA that you generate, whether they want to use it or not. In other words, I was prohibited from patenting it. So we have an expensive problematc system 32 years later (1988 to 2020) and indefinitely longer!

      You cannot disable or reset the system on any vehicle if your sensors have dead batteries.mine lasted 7 or 8 years. Buy 4 new sensors to fit your car and use your jack to break the bead on your spare. Wrap the 4 new sensors together in bubble wrap then just throw them in side it. pressure up the spare to slightly higher than reccomended pressure. Now follow your vehicles owner manual to calibrate the new sensors. Life good again.

    Those TPMS systems are one of the poorest designs I've ever seen, to solve a problem that really doesn't exist. Putting the battery inside the wheel, is just stupid. Either have an external sensor on the valve stem or use the wheel speed sensor system.

    So I wonder. When the sensor in the direct system “sends” the signal, since it is obviously wireless, where then is it received?

    • @TheEnemySU37
      @TheEnemySU37 4 года назад

      It is received by a module in the vehicle, and that module communicates with the rest of the vehicle systems.

No body answered my question yet looking thru 10 of these videos. Where is the tpm reset button inside on the cars dashboard for a 2019 dodge caravan ???? Appreciate any help from anyone, also could the tire light go on if the tires are OVERINFLATED ?? Thanks 👍🏼

    Ugh! I have a 2007 Toyota Avalon. I've had the tire sensors replaced, and triple checked (including the spare!), and the tire pressure is fine. I was told to hit the re-set button if light didn't go off. I've tried it three times and the light is STILL ON!!! What now? Now the mechanic is saying the sensor could be bad in the dashboard!!! SO FRUSTRATED! HELP ME!

    • @proclaimliberty2000
      @proclaimliberty2000  6 лет назад +2

      I seriousley doubt that the sensor is bad in the dashboard. You have to "Reset & Re-intialize" the system which is very easy to do. Follow my instructions in this video. ruclips.net/video/3z7Yn0sIeIs/видео.html

    • @jojopaisley

      Thank you! They checked the air pressure in the spare as well. Everything is fine so, that’s why they think it might be the dash. I can’t afford major repairs like that so, I’ll just have to check the tires once a month! Oh well! 🙂

      Oh, no wonder! Lol...Sorry! That link took me to part two! I just looked at part one! 😀 I have already done exactly what you show in the video. My tires take 30, but they bumped it up to 32, due to the frigid temps. When I took it back this morning, he bumped it up to 34! I had to go to work so.....I’m usually not an airhead with this stuff but, I’m second guessing everything!! 😩 Part of me thinks I need to go back and have them drop those tires back to 30! I will try to re-initialize again, if my light is still on when I get off of work. Thank you, so much, for answering my questions! 🙂

      Hi Jim, did you watch my video on how to reinitialize the system? If you did and it didn't fix it then take it to a reputable tire shop and they can check the tire sensors with a wireless scanner.
