OMG I can not thank you enough for this video!!!! I got new sensors several months ago and the light has been driving me crazy!!! So I took matters into my own hands…THANK YOU!!!!
Have a 2024 Silverado. Recently removed stock wheels and installed summer chrome wheels. (Will swap back pending weather) I'm not sure if this procedure will work for me. One thing for sure. Best video I've seen!! Great work.
Great video. I am getting new tires and they say to rotate them every 5000 miles, so you have to reset the TPMS every time you rotate. This will save me money from going to a tire place and having them do it for a fee.
One thing I noticed is that after all the procedures were finished and turning the key off, you did not mention turning the headlight switch back on to the normal driving mode. Someone might forget to do this without thinking about it. Thanks for the video.
@JrZCarZ I have a 2014 GMC Sierra and I have noticed on another video to turn the headlight switch off before proceeding to the reset learning mode. On my truck, if I don't turn the knob to the auto normal when finished, it doesn't happen automatically. The knob needs to be manually turned. This is something that you might want to share. That's how it is on my truck. Thanks so much for the video.
Good info, my 2015 gmc sierra denali front driver side low tire pressure light is on and fluctuates from 24 - 26 psi. I will give this a try in the day light and access to tire air. Hopefully it works 🤞🏿
What happens if you do not have the correct tire pressure when you reset the TPMS? Especially when you are letting air out to get the horn to honk during the reset (one tire at a time). Will it now not alert you when the tire is low or indicate the wrong pressure because the wrong tire pressure was in the tire when the TPMS was reset?
IS THIS THE SAME PROCEDURE TO FOLLOW FOR A TERRAIN? WHEN I TURN IT ON , THE DASH LIGHT SAYS "CHECK TIRE MAINTENANCE SYSTEM"..BUT TIRES ARE NOT LOW AT ALL, I'VE HAD THEM CHECKED.
I believe the process would be different because the Terrain doesn't have the menu option like this Torrent does. If you can select the option to learn the tire location you can try, just make sure that you have a compressor handy so you can pump the tire back up! Happy motoring.👍
I hope this works on my 2008 grand prix. The car is showing the front wheels needing air and it's the rear wheels getting flats. I've only had it a couple of months
Great video but on my 2009 Buick Enclave would not learn. I was able to get it into the learn mode but when I let out air, down to 14 lbs, it still didn't learn. Do all the tires have to be at full pressure before you start? A couple of mine were down about a lb.
They shouldn't need to be all full. What you can try is to drive the car around a little before doing this so the sensors are active and see if it works.
Bought used 2008, DIC said to work on TPMS, used Autel scan tool, it did not see sensors in the car so tossed in 4 sensors, the tool could see all 4, saw pressure. So went into relearn, tried to use his Autel tool and my tool, neither would beep during the learn process.. guess could try lowering pressure, but wondering why scan tools would not trigger the learn.. there some antenna for the ECM to see these sensors?
Looking into module 20803735 to find out if there is an antenna, keyless entry module controls the TPMS on these, then remote start and the keyless entry.. from what I can make out it is behind some panel on Left rear quarter, guess behind where jack goes perhaps, looking tomorrow to verify numbers and check any antennas, as both tires then fob acting up...
You may have not let enough air out, or it's possible the sensor was not active. You could drive the car around to 'wake up' the sensors and try as soon as you park. They would read quicker than.
Does not work for 2023 Chevy Traverse. The light comes on as indicated and I let almost 20 PSI out…nothing. I’m guessing they changed it for the newer models.
I have driven the car around to wake up the sensor. I got the car in learning mode, front light on the driver's side came on. Released the air down to 5lbs no honk .. Is that a bad sensor
Sometimes it takes a little bit to honk cause it needs to wake up the sensors. If it doesn't, I would drive the car around before doing this procedure to get the sensors closer to the ready state.
Did it actually illuminate the light to show you which tire to start with? I got concerned with mine too when one went down to about 15 lbs but it eventually honked. Could be a lazy sensor as well
@JrZCarZ I have a 2008 gmc yukon. Yes, the ligth is on. I put it on re learn mode, and it beeps, but when I'm taking the air out, it won't beep, and the one ligth is on but won't switch or beep and I let most of my air out
What happens if you do not have the correct tire pressure when you reset the TPMS? Especially when you are letting air out to get the horn to honk during the reset (one tire at a time). Will it now not alert you when the tire is low or indicate the wrong pressure because the wrong tire pressure was in the tire when the TPMS was reset?
It shouldn't make a difference because it's just looking for activity when you let the air out. It's not calibrating the actual pressure to make sure it's reading properly, it's reading the location of where the tire/sensor is. That being said, before doing this you should make sure they are at the proper pressure just to be safe.
@ so I said thanks for the info and today I actually tried it outside of Costco by the air machine. And it worked and it was so easy didn’t get alarmed by releasing so much air, but that’s what it took for it to beep. Thanks again.
Thanks!
Thank you for the Super Thanks! I'm glad it helped you out 👍
Probably the easiest way I've seen a TPMS relearn procedure completed! Keep the videos coming.
Thanks man!
Looked high and low for this information without buying any equipment!! Thanks.
What do you do to begin with why is that left front light on cuz there's no explanation on that before he starts
For the life of me I couldn't find this elementary information in my manual. Thanks for posting this video.
I love how simple and straight forward this video is!
Thanks for watching!

Thank you so much. The information was quite useful. I have a Chevrolet Cruze and your advice was spot on👍
I do also 2018 been rotating my tires not knowing i need to relearn the tpms
I did not tried yet but your explanation is simply outstanding keep the good work going👍👍👌
Thanks! Hopefully it helps you when you do this 👍
@@JrZCarZ Hi Thanks hopefully 👍
Really great video and clever technique. Super simple!

That's not needed because as soon as you turn the key off it goes back to default which is to have the DRL on.
@JrZCarZ I have a 2014 GMC Sierra and I have noticed on another video to turn the headlight switch off before proceeding to the reset learning mode. This is a well made video. Clear step by step instructions with helpful video.

Oh yeah, much better than the predecessor method of just filling up the tire and drive for a few miles. I'll have to try this later on my 2017 Spark.
Yep, manufacturers just LOVE to make things more complicated so they can get you to come into their dealers...
@johnny becker. Did it work for your 2017 spark?
I have the same car. During the oil change they rotated the tires.

Saving someone some time & frustration- it doesn’t work for a 2015 Chevy Equinox 🙄
Damn
Thank you, will try tomorow morning.

I have a 2015. Do I hold the two buttons down with the key in the ignition?
One thing I think should mention that if sensor one is bad it won’t go through the rest of the programming
At least in my experience
Thank you for saving me from going back to the dealer

If only 2 of them need resetting how do you move to the next tire if the 1st does not need resetting
You have to do all of them with this process
Can you do this procedure in all year model Gm Veicules ?
It depends, I'm not sure what the year cutoff is
Cool thanks bud 👍

What if your passenger side tire doesn't honk? What do you do then??? Is the sensor not good? 2010 Equinox!
You may have not let enough air out, or it's possible the sensor was not active. You could drive the car around to 'wake up' the sensors and try as soon as you park. They would read quicker than.
I cant do this on a 08 Chevy Express done tried several times
All 4 tires read exactly 5 psi low. Confirmed. How do you fix that?
Add more air 😁
Good information
Thanks!
Do you do something with the ignition first
Yes the key has to be in the on position, but the car not started.

I have driven the car around to wake up the sensor. I got the car in learning mode, front light on the driver's side came on. Released the air down to 5lbs no honk .. Is that a bad sensor
Could be a bad sensor if that's the case, or your car may not be comparable with the manual relearn
We have a 2008 Chevy Aveo5, which doesn't have an information button. How do you enter programming mode for it?
What buttons do you have?
Thi k you gotta hold the unlock button until it beeps

Will this work on Chevy traverse 2016
It's possible, give it a try and see
MY g6 is not connecting to my left rear tire sensor...is there any way to skip to that tire ?
Not worth this procedure. You go around all 4 to do it this way
Thank you 🙏
Glad it helped you out!
What if it doesn't honk?
Sometimes it takes a little bit to honk cause it needs to wake up the sensors. If it doesn't, I would drive the car around before doing this procedure to get the sensors closer to the ready state.
Then just let all the air out. Just kidding
Okay tell me how did that left front light go on
It goes on as you work your way around the car.
Does this work with brand new sensors?
Brand New sensors would need to be programmed. This is for sensors that the ECU currently sees
It worked but the tire pressures aren’t right! 😢
Maybe the sensors are starting to fail or get lazy.
You saved me 200
Did ur tire light go off
Yep, it never came back.

Would this work on a 2009 Chevy equinox??
Yep
How about on a 2014 Chevy Cruze? Thanks.
I let the air out of front drivers ideas tire and horn never honked
Took it down to 20 pounds and worried so I filled it back up on my 2015 Chevy Equinox
Did it actually illuminate the light to show you which tire to start with? I got concerned with mine too when one went down to about 15 lbs but it eventually honked. Could be a lazy sensor as well
how do you proof that was cleared the icon?
It wasn't on any longer and the bulb is not blown 😊
Didn’t work with my 2017 Silverado
Deflating the tire did not activate the tire pressure sensor on the first tire. Must be something wrong with that sensor. 2016 Traverse.
Could be a failed sensor. Do you have a TPMS fault light on?
GM 2011 and up require a tool.
Thank you
Glad it helped you out 👍
This did not work on my 2016 chevy cruze. I had to order a scanner.
I guess it's cause these manufacturers are so money hungry now they don't give you easy options to maintain your own vehicles..... Terrible
What if you have a wheel that will not learn?
The sensor is probably bad or the sensor battery is dead.
Going to do this wow
Hope it helped you out
I let most of the air out from my tire but the ligth is on but wont beep when i take all the air out help?
What kind of car? Do you have a TPMS light on?
@JrZCarZ I have a 2008 gmc yukon. Yes, the ligth is on. I put it on re learn mode, and it beeps, but when I'm taking the air out, it won't beep, and the one ligth is on but won't switch or beep and I let most of my air out
@@Southern612 the sensor may be bad. You may need to hook it up to a scanner to read the sensors and see if there's an actual fault then.
@@JrZCarZ thanks I'll look into it

Yeah I tried that too and discovered that later model vehicles need a tool. I believe 2011 and up
Does not work on Bolt EV.

How do I fix my 2017 trailblazer SS Please!!! 2:31
What needs fixing?
