  • For everyone interested in starting Ulua fishing in Hawai'i, I hope this will help you learn how to cast a conventional reel with an Ulua pool. My setup in this video is an IRW Slider and a Shimano Torium 50 spooled with 80lb line. Im not the best caster in the world but can get my line about 100 yards without wind and 90 yards if there is wind. If you're casting at a park, be sure that no one is near you. A broken lead line can easily send a 10 ounce lead over 200 yards. Also, dont be afraid to add a lot of water to your spool. Be safe and good luck trying to catch a big one. I am not liable for any property damage or harm to others if your lead sinker ends up hitting something. I am not advising anyone to cast at county parks, this video is for entertainment purposes only.
