Y pensé Yo no . Y cuando ví las carteras y ropas que tenía . Dije tiene razón. Ahí me puse a sacar ropa etc . Y me costo mucho . Es por eso que para mí sus videos me encantan !!! Y valoro todo el trabajo que hacen .

It seems as if there's different kind of hoarders, not everyone is extremely attached to their stuff, I've seen a couple of episodes from british tv where some clings on to disposed chewing gum wraps and then there's others who seem as if they more git stuck in a severe depression and they couldn't cope and the pile of junk just grew, often these had entered the hoarding when their spouse died, divorced them or fallen ill. They also are relieved and grateful to people cleaning up, and of course, a depression has little chance of improving if there' s barely no space to breath in what was once a home.

Her mom was hurt & upset seeing her daughter losing it but she told the truth... Julius is gone & never coming back. Plus she already she admitted she never liked him lol. Cory & the doc were so kind & patient with her. I think this was the 1st time I've seen Cory be this patient with someone. It was really incredible because I can't imagine how frustrating it is. But who could be mad at her? She's too sweet. I really hope her family friends & the community there can help her with the rest of the house

Unfortunately most of the vehicles she just towed to friends' properties (couldn't let go of a single one) and only a few rooms were cleaned with most things put in boxes. I became physically disabled and my son moved several times and just left stuff at my house. I couldn’t bend or lift so had to adapt to what I could do and things didn’t get done. I don’t have a problem getting rid of things but physically trying to do it is the stumbling block. People think that I hoard but the only things that I buy are things that are eaten or used up within a short time. Since I couldn’t work I gave away boxes of clothes who helped gather them and expressed surprise that I didn’t have an issue getting rid of them. People don’t understand how physical debility limits you to necessary things. My kitchen and bathroom are kept clean, I still have to cook and go to the grocery store, I still pull weeds, water plants, do laundry and I take care of my 2 dogs. I don’t have any energy left to do anything else. People who are in good health don’t understand.

I don't have a disability but in the recent past, I broke my toe against a brick divider (and I'm 37) and yet I couldn't do simple walking for a couple of days to a week! I had to use a scooter and cane to get around and it hurt horribly! I can imagine what it's like for people who are in that condition for months or years on end! I don't know if I would have been able to handle it!

I just loved watching this family. And her house is amazing. In a way I think she is still mourning and I think she wants to finish the house because she think that’s what her husband would have wanted. The bond between her and her brother is absolutely amazing. I was really hoping she accepted the advantages of the aftercare they offer. Her mom and aunt remind me of my grandmother and great grandmother.

she did end up re-hoarding her garage with tiles for her kitchen i think it was and refused aftercare therapy :( it said she was still determined to finish her house.

It bothers me too. Unless they can get into the habit of cleaning their fridge thoroughly before they shop weekly, the food will go bad. Neglect the it long enough, it will ruin the fridge too. Especially with pests.

I get so depressed by most of them, that I practically kill myself cleaning. Tonight my husband said, "Gee, Hon, don't you think you should take it easy tomorrow? You sure have been doing a lot of work." Of course, I responded, "Are you kidding? We are getting older. Pretty soon we won't be able to get rid of stuff! And I don't want our kids to end up on the Hoarder's Show, while we are in the nursing home!" He sort of laughed, but I think he gets it! We just have a lifetime of stuff. So we are giving it away, while we can watch our kids and other people enjoy it. At least it is just stuff and not filthy trash!

When I was younger, I lived with OCD. THEN, like a BAD hoarder. NOW, I feel like I'm terrified I'm going to go back to those ways. I'm trying not to tip into either direction so I go through things often, I accumulate memories in the form of DOING things, not purchases or collections, I make sure everything has a place and that I can keep it clean.
If I don't have a lot of stuff, I don't have to worry about being busy fussing over my home. I ALSO, try to be mindful of others that hoard so I'm not giving them things to collect.

Ms. Althia's story broke my heart. Her and husband had big dreams for their future home but he left her behind and she wasn't able to carry the dream forward without him. But hopefully after this clean out she will be able to make their dream come true with the help of family and friends. Much ❤ & Respect for you Ms. Althia!! Please do a future update on this beautiful woman💋💋. But I understand if she need to let this dream of finishing this home go. I would personally have to sell it and get away if it was overwhelming me that much.

    "Let go of your dreams."
"Give up on that dream of finishing your house. Its never going to happen!" Two phrases no one should EVER have to hear in such an emotional state. Dr. Thompkins should be fired. Harsh reality IS better than false hope (Downton Abby) however, but not in this case. His little pep talks were heartbreaking!
