Lol, well you're damn skippy people are going to be judgmental, why are you living this way when you have a home that you worked hard for years to pay for and to just fuck it up with junk.
With that being said, it doesn't mean that a person or people don't care or have no empathy.

They are like a doctor who is getting paid and keeps his personal opinion to himself. I don't see this woman getting help for her shopping addiction, so she will most likely fill up that empty space they made for her with more junk. On Hoarders, Melba Green M.D. has pointed out that unless there is follow-up treatment, the person will fall back into old behavior.

The overwhelming need to hold on to ‘stuff’ is all consuming and the thought of getting rid of items (easy for others to say - just get rid’ / take it to a charity shop) incites such a fear of loss it just becomes overwhelming and induces panic. Wow I am nothing like that, but I am inclined to hold onto things! I have a daughter that I ask if she wants it, if not I give it to our local SPCA to sell in their 2nd hand shop :)

Keeping all her possessions and just shuffling them is not a good solution. At least half of it needs to go so she can find the things that she loves and are sentimental. So very sad.

I'd have to say I'm the opposite of a hoarder,I hate shopping, and just never cared about material things, if I don't use,I don't want it.

Well...German here, my experience with those people who hoard and seek help is, imagine that they lived through a Time where things were scarce and everything gets used till even god can't repair it...so they begin gather(excludes Trash hoarders) things that are mostly still functional. It's how they grew up with and as they get old, they sit on literal truckloads of unorganised stuff...the end is that they are planless, helpless and at last embaressed about their helplessness...It's ingrained in them to gather "recources" for bad days to come, so i think its rather normal...

These lovely cleaning ladies work so hard for these mentally sick people only so those people can fill their homes back up and live in clutter again. I have to give them credit. If hoarders are so prevalent, then that should be addressed. What causes hoarding, how is it cured? Free classes should be offered, hoarders identifies and driven to the classes.

I don’t think it’s good that they let her keep all the junk. She’s just gonna add to the collections in the spare room until it creeps out again

So sad. Doesn't she have a person of her family to help her clean the house?
