As a Kiwi...no greater rivalry...no nicer men in rugby than a Bok and this should be an Epic...wow..not since 95' have we met....its outrageous! May the best team win and lets hope no red cards and a ref who lets the game flow. Best of luck!

It really was a tough ladder for the boks to climb, every team they faced, including England, were genuinely on point, was a really great tourney.

As a kiwi i found myself so invested in the conversations, opening my eyes to the perspective of SA players and supporters and what they fight for is amazing just watching this made me feel like even if our all blacks lose i can be at ease knowing what this title means to south africa and i can appreciate that so win or lose both sides are champions ❤

John is as good on a podcast as anybody I have ever seen, such great stories and relaxed way of talking.
Great show!! Good also to see that John hasn't lost his boyish good looks or his boyish sense of humor. Wouldn't want to arm wrestle him though. One of the great ambassadors of the game. Much respect from NZ.

First, this episode flew by. Absolutely loved it. Second, Shimmy correcting Scalla soccer vs football was hysterical. The seriousness in his tone of voice and eyes. Thank you Shimmy, I've been preaching the same for years.

I met John in Japan during 19 World Cup at the Hilton Shinjuku along with Sean Fitzpatrick, had a beer with him after the SA Wales win. As a grieving ABs fan he was an absolute gentleman.

As a South African, I really want the boys to win the cup for a 4th time, but if we don't, I wouldn't feel that bad. The All Blacks are a formidable team. We went to the finals, as current champions. We will definitely give them a hard time. Please let's do win though 😢❤😅 PS, The President said we will have public holiday if The Boys Win Finals.

It's a final between the two best rugby nations in rugby history, also in world Cup history. A dream final for both Boks or AB supporter's. At least the ABs don't have to put up with a chance of losing WC final to England, that would be unbearable.

Boks Office has been a highlight of this RWC. In 2019 we had the fantastic Elma who also did us proud and generated some fantastic content.

What a year to win the Webb Ellis World Cup,(200 years old this year). a lad from Salford (UK) Wedd Ellis started the then game of football….BUT! In 1823 instead of kicking the ball he decided to run with it hence RUGBY!!! What a year to win it.

AB fan here. I enjoyed this discussion. It's interesting to hear the Springbok mindset about playing for a bigger cause. This is probably in contrast to the AB mindset. Most AB fans here in NZ, did not expect the ABs to get past the QF stage. We've had a terrible last few years, and the ABs left NZ for the RWC with the lowest expectations ever on a AB side for a RWC.
Actually after the performances in the Rugby Championship and Bledisloe cup series, there was confidence in the team. Crucial injuries to Retallic and Frizell were concerning and when Lomax went down and Barrett’s suspension, the build up into the tournament was disrupted.
Playing NZ in a Rugby World Cup Final is probably a dream for most of our players & fans. Whoever wins this Saturday took the hard road. They had to beat the best in the world to lift the Trophy. This hasn't always been the case. So for me, this RWC winner will be a GOAT team irrespective of past results. There's so many story lines that will play out in this final & just as many players that will probably retire.
Bring it on.

i can't wait for the final against the old rivals. as much as i appreciate the skill level of france and ireland, it pales to the respect i have for the springboks. i think that there is so much history between the all blacks and springboks that it makes it easier to accept it if we lost the cup to you guys. but by saying that:

Awesome to listen to Springbok legends having a good time and sharing expertise. Foster said he was starting Whitelock and bringing in Taukei'aho to keep an edge mentally. Springboks could have done similar and possibly started Snyman and Kwagga to counter the expected mental energy drop from French game
These 3 gentlemen (Jon Smit, Hanyani Shimange & Schalk Brits) went on a trek through the desert in Southern Africa and all they had was water & loads of sweets. Schalk Brits talks about it on the Use it or Lose it RUclips channel.

This is the best final. 2 teams that have the greatest respect for each other more than any other teams, 2 southern hemisphere teams who were basically written off and 2 teams that know how to win important matches when their backs are against the wall. What im always amazed at is guts seem genuinely friendly and nane dropped from yest. with Haskell and Tindall who have openly bern super critical of bokke and * undeserving* of title comments amongst others. Wow our guys never slate them off or do that n honestly Tindall n Haskell never in same league as these guys.

I have to say, the overall unsportsmanlike behaviour of the French crowds in the stands and fans in general has been terribly disappointing. There is no place in rugby for just constantly booing everything you don't feel goes your way, week in and week out.
It's the French mate waddya expect? Once there was Napoleon but they haven't been the same since the guy with the little moustache back in the 1940's gave them their first lesson in scrumming.

Great show. Cheering for the Boks but if we loose I have no issue taking a loss from the AB’s they are pedigree.
make sure you win. ABs sorest losers (refs/food poisoning etc.) but most ungracious winners - They are not a humble people like the South Africans. Jk/Jeff and rest of NZ media will ensure to rub salt into the wounds. Even if a close game and NZ are lucky it will be all about how good NZ are and no appreciation of how SA played.

Can’t wait for this RWC final, here in NZ this is the RWC final of dreams for us with the All Blacks playing against the Springboks in the biggest game rugby has to offer. I have wanted this finals match up for years because we are the 2 greatest rugby nations in all of history. The only team I can accept an All Blacks loss to is the Springboks.

Agree 100%. We are lucky to be in the final and we should see it that way. But we are in the finals and we find ourselves there in the best way possible. Worst way would have been if we beat eng by 30 and NZ had a tighter game against Arg. Most people would have Nz as favourites, and looking at our game, it would take a real effort to be worse than last weekend. Also I feel like there is a difference in who and what both teams are playing for. Foster is playing to win so he can sit in a press conference and tell everyone they were wrong to doubt him. Rassie and Jacques will be motivating the team to do it for the fans, the videos of kids from all races crying after the win, the unity it brings, even if temporary. I just have a feeling about this boks team in the final.

It's going to take a miracle and probably a defensive masterclass for us to beat the All Blacks. We will need to dominate them up front and stop their dangerous backs. All Blacks slight favorites. It's really going to take magic for us to beat this All Blacks side. Hoping every player brings their best.

I just wish our entire country's happiness and unity didn't rest on players of which half of them if they weren't in the national team would be marginalised by our government and indeed even after always contributing to the country's pride told oh okay we use you but we don't actually want or need you- go "back" to Europe. I agree - definitely have to give props to the coaching team. They really do trust the team and nomatter who gets substituted from the bench, they get the job done on the field. The coaches put in players according to what is good/beneficial for the team at that time. Really love it. The whole squad delivers when required and perform to their level best.

Frankly you could see that Siya, Eben etc - they were all fatigued and going backwards which was putting pressure on Manie. Rassie and Nienaber needed reinforcement with energy and they needed a flyhalf with more experience in game management and positional play. Manie is good and he will get this from experience but he is not there yet.
To get battered like our boys have been, week in week out and ask that of them one more time is huge. There's 60 million being you boys. You're already heros and you've made us proud 🙌💚💛🇿🇦
Tough physical tournament for springboks in most games..tiredness is a possibility but the boys have 80 mins left until it's over!...this final is in some ways is easier to build up for both teams due to so much history, will be a good fast and tactical game, tries from both teams is guaranteed, penalties included my friends...great world cup, fitting final...let's go bokke and good luck to the all blacks🤙 🇿🇦
Lawrence Dallaglio is a sookie, go watch the game again and see who drops the ball. Great panel and great discussion on the show, for us Kiwis this is the ultimate showdown. Boks will go in as favourites having blasted us off the field in Twickenham prior to RWC and of course are the defending champions. There is no lack of motivation when you play the Boks, tradition, rivalry, there is tremendous history between our nations. It will be a cracker!
