- Since this version of the show is now extinct I thought it was time to release a video. Whilst I didn't capture everything I wanted to due to the unplanned closure, I was fortunate enough to obtain 5 HD angles of the show itself. I also was able to incorporate DV footage of the exterior I had shot prior to going HD. After a great introduction by ETRUNM Cast Members, enjoy the preshow with multi angle HD video and a clean live audio track. Walk into the main theatre and see the whole mainshow in multi camera HD video with a source / ALD audio track.

The first time my family went to Disney was 2005, and I’m pretty sure that’s the only time I’ve ever been in the Tiki Room. I recall my dad saying as we left, “well that wasn’t very enchanting” or something along those lines, and I think this fiasco of an overlay might have turned them off the attraction for good. I’m not sure if they realize it’s not like this anymore, all I know is that we’ve not done it since then.
I would say "burn it with fire" but... you know.

The uh oa animatronic they moved to trader Sam’s at the Polynesian. She doesn’t move anymore but she can be seen if someone orders her drink

The first Tiki Room I'd ever visited was this one, I honestly didn't mind it, seeing as I loved and still do the song "Friend Like Me", the I love the original Tiki Room just as much too.

I’ve never been to WDW, but I’m glad to say, I’m so glad I’ve been seen this in person. The Tiki Room is my personal favorite Disneyland attraction.
The original was great.But this version is my childhood favorite as I grew up with this version

my theory: The cast member Landon, as a gentleman from Eastern Virginia has it in his blood to commit selfless acts of rebellion for the common good. He is definitely the one who torched this attraction.

Bad refurbishment aside, those Iago and Zazu animatronics are absolutely adorable. I'd pay millions to have that Iago animatronic in my room.

I actually like this, it’s pretty entertaining to me and I like the fact that Iago and Zazu are in it and of course the other enchanted tiki room birds to.
Seeing this again out of boredom and... wow this was worse than I remembered. Again, I don't think it's as bad as people say, but it's still shit. Some positives I will say though, I did like the first half. The idea of Iago breaking into the tiki room and messing around with the birds, only then to get banished by the tiki gods sounds really funny to me. However, everything after it in the 2nd half just sucked. Especially the last part where Iago insults the guests as they leave, ugh...
If the "new management" stuff was only in the first half and the show continued as normal with Zazu just chillin in the background, I would've been okay with this change. But the fact that they replaced every song with covers of existing songs REALLY made this version hard to revisit. Thankfully the tiki room is now back in it's original state, though it is a shame that the UNM animatronics got damaged from that fire. Cause for 1998, they actually looked pretty cool.

I will say, I didn't like how Iago got so much attention and even his own songs while Zazu was this insecure side-character basically. I get it sort of fits the nervous and blunt side of Zazu from "The Lion King," but he would never call Iago his "friend," or feel touched by anything he did--and if you think about it, more people remembered who Zazu was than Iago... I would've been fine with something like this "Famous birds from Disney movies" thing if 1.) It didn't replace and disrespect the one-and-only "Enchanted Tiki Room" (and the guests...); and 2.) It had a better story-line and songs.

As bad as this version was, I gotta admit, it had some charm imo.
The first part with Don Rickles and Phil Hartman (who sadly are now dead..) was pretty funny, the way Iago comes in during the Tiki song was hilarious, and that friend like me parody wasn't too bad either.
I would say the same for the Conga parody but ehhh.. I'm still kinda mixed on it.
I *_knew it!_* That one toucan(?) sounded unmistakably Phil Hartman, but I wasn't sure where to check. It's odd that they got Troy McClure (Phil Hartman), Mr. Potatohead (Don Rickles), Tony the Tiger (Thurl Ravenscroft), and even Iago (Gilbert Gottfried), [sadly, all of whom have passed on]... and yet they couldn't afford Rowan Atkinson, the only one in the group who's not a voice actor. I guess he is easily replaced, and you wouldn't even notice unless you know what to listen for. I guess they just wanted Colonel Spigot (Michael Gough) so it would be an all-star cast, or something? /s

This show, which was hosted by Iago and Zazu, obviously deserved retirement after it was the target of scorn and contempt by guests, who called it an allegory of the corrupt management of Michael Eisner. Not to mention there was a fire in the show on January 12, 2011. Disney definitely made the right choice by taking it off the parks.

No because there were a few jokes to be had and no matter how bad an attraction is, I don’t think it deserves to be burnt, I would have preferred this stayed until staff wanted to change it

They made the worst mistake. the tiki room will never be as good as the original. José,Pierre,Micheal,and Fritz will always have a special place in our disney hearts. :D. it's like taking away it's a small world. yes the song plays over and over but your inner disney child enjoys it. and when that gets taken away it's not the same. you don't have that disney warmth anymore.
This isn’t Disney’s best work, but I think it’s just a little over hated... I mean, it could have been worse, the Tiki Goddess animatronic was nice, and everyone complains about the tikis rapping, but I expected it to take up like half of the show, at least it was just a short segment of the song

I actually love this, but I understand having disdain for it if you had to REPLACE the original show for this. This is great as a goofy spin-off, but not as the only option.
No one is talking about your editing, but I will. It's absolutely perfect! You cut to different angles and even did fade-ins like it was an official pro-cut or something. AMAZING!

I hope that iagos encounter with uh oa the tiki goddess of disaster taught him that not all thing need to be changed and some things are fine just the way they are I guess you can say that iago and zazu decided to fly the coop and transfer ownership of the enchanted tiki room back to Jose Pierre Fritz and Michael and they changed the show back to the original version of the show that was set up way back in the1960s

All I know is that not to be rude or nothing like I made this is what you wanted to do like I like Gilbert Godfrey and you know he was an icon of the 80s but playing this audio here in my driveway I'm kind of sitting here worried that the police are going to show up because of being disorderly due to the audio coming from the Tiki Room in this video

Trivia- Armelia McQueen voices Uh-Oa ,The Tiki Goddess of Disaster. Disney fans should remember her playing The Red Queen in the Disney TV Show "Adventures in Wonderland' in the 90's.
