I went back to work full-time and my job is very physical. The first month I was coming home mentally and physically spent. Then, I started researching Creatine and reading more about the positive impact it has on people who are aging (we are all "aging" everyday) especially on the body's energy, recovery, and cognitive functions and I decided to give it a try. I am not exaggerating when I say, within say a week, I am sustaining my energy through an entire 8-hr shift, I come home and still have energy to make dinner and be nice to be family. I am not coming home like a zombie who just wants to lay down and not talk to anyone. Creatine has been an exciting add-on for me. I am telling all my friends about it. I don't go to the gym at all so it's not just for people who lift or train. I'm a 61-year old, full-time employee and I am telling you this is having a noticeable impact, especially to my energy sustainability, and d it has only been a week. Great video, JJ!
Taking Creatine has helped my muscles become stronger in just two months. I’m 77 and have been trying to stay strong throughout my life. I could tell my muscles were becoming weak - this supplement has helped me tremendously! I can lift more weight and more reps. I feel great and am looking forward to seeing my flabby arms tone up.
AS a child in the fifties, I had polio, 40 years later I realised I had post polio syndrome causing muscle weakness in the right leg and at one time being almost unable to walk uphill while on one of my long distance hikes. I decided to take creatine and it made an immediate difference - I had the strength back in my leg, although the muscle had atrophied. I took creatine for some time and then thought I did not need it any more. Now at almost 80, I am still very fit, but perhaps my muscles could do with some help so have decided to get on the creatine again.
I'm 45 and always dreaded getting older but woman like you are such a great example that a good life, health, and youthfulness are possible after middle age. I love your content, I learn lots and slowly started to make better choices.

@margysfavourites8444 it's a good practice to drink a glass of water first thing every morning before you have coffee, or food. I've read it kick starts your metabolism. So just chug a 12-16oz glass of water with a scoop or two in it each am before you get into your coffee.
You are one of my very favorite RUclipsrs. I love your content and think you’re the whole package:) one thing I notice with people Talking about creatine is the effect of caffeine with it. Would love your input on creatine and caffeine. Thanks❤ Lisa

Started taking creatine about three weeks ago and it has made a huge difference. I’m training for a 10 K and I can run harder and I heal a lot quicker. My only concern is that it seems to make me hostile if I’m not careful that may have something to do with, the fact that I have a fried nervous system I don’t know but it definitely is working great.
Hi there, we're so glad to hear creatine is boosting your training! It really is a game-changer for performance and recovery. While creatine itself isn’t known for mood swings, stress and a "fried nervous system" can affect mood. Try supporting your system with mindfulness, adaptogens like ashwagandha, and rest days. Staying hydrated and getting good sleep can also make a big difference. Keep tuning in to your body and adjusting as needed-your 10K is going to be amazing! -Team JJ
Jj just found your channel. I'm 59, 10+ years post menopause and moderately active. I started monohydrate creatine 5 months ago at 3g. I began having sleeping difficulty. I couldn't get a truly restful sleep. The only thing I could attribute it to was the creatine so I completely stopped, reset and tried again. I've tried that 3 times now. And finally, just started taking 1 g regularly in hopes that there's some benefit. I've scoured the bottle and the internet to try to be certain there's no caffeine in the brand I'm using. I'm going to give your brand a try, but i'm wondering if you've heard of this as a side effect. The biggest benefit I think I saw was just a general sense of more energy. I also have hypothyroidism (well controlled now) so over the years that energy issue has been a challenge. Ty for any insight.

Although it's been a year, I’d like to leave a comment. I am one of the producers of creatine, and I’d like to cautiously share some advice on how to take creatine properly. I don't recommend taking it during workouts. Instead, I suggest taking it either once before or after your workout(5g or less), or splitting the dose between the two times.(2.5g/2.5g or less) [--> If you're a beginner, it's not necessary to stick to a 5g dose. Thank you so much for this info JJ❤. For someone like me that suffers from depression and anxiety, medication has never worked for me. So I been researching on the internet and discovering that psychiatrists are finding the link between food and mood! And we all know of course exercise is always a mood booster. So whatever nutrients I can't get from food; supplements are key. I will definitely have to add that one to my list!
I have toyed with the idea of creatine for several months. I have watched your previous videos and decided to pull the trigger and order your clean creatine powder today. I would love a capsule form to make it easier when traveling. What would your recommendation be for creatine in a capsule form?
Very important! You should consult a healthcare professional before taking this. If you regularly take anti-inflammatory medications, taking creatine monohydrate daily can affect your liver. This happened to me and I’m a healthy, fit woman who regularly exercises. I suffer from migraines and take anti inflammatory medications often because of them. I started taking creatine monohydrate to help with adding more lean muscle, and my liver enzymes shot up with a few months. Once I discontinued taking it my enzymes went back to normal within a month. My doctor said it was because of this supplement. Please beware.
Yes!!! The same happened to me recently...and if you're a Diabetic do not take Creatine!! It will further damage your Liver if you have Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Desease or any Liver disease.... Drink Coffee instead if you're looking for extra energy for your Workouts...
I also suffer from migraines and ended up in the ER for a particularly bad one, they gave me an IV of magnesium. My doctor put me on a daily magnesium regime and that helps tremendously. So I rarely need anti inflammatory meds for headaches now. If anyone is interested in looking it up… the Canadian Headache Society recommends 600 mg magnesium citrate daily as a preventive therapy. Maybe that will be useful for fellow migraine sufferers. Always talk to your doctors of course.

Hi! Both creatine HCL and monohydrate are effective. Monohydrate is the most researched and helps with muscle growth through water retention, but may cause slight water weight gain. HCL absorbs faster, requires smaller doses, and may reduce bloating or digestive discomfort, making it a good option for sensitive stomachs. Your choice depends on personal preference and how your body responds. Hope this helps! -Team JJ

I have a Problem with the weightgain with creatine Even if I know it is just a number and Not fat. 😂 i dont know how to overcome it. I hate to weigh more 😢
I don't understand the fear of gaining weight on creatine. If I understand correctly, it helps getting more out of resistance training, therefore it may help gain muscle mass so the weight you might gain is lean mass.
Right about the 2:05 & 2:06 point she mentions some kind of scale (bow & peen scale?). I've played it back several times and I can't understand what she is saying. Can anyone help decipher what kind of scale she mentions?

I was taking 5grams a day. So I stopped taking it and figure out why it affected my kidneys? Any ideas? Or am I on my own?
What I read they say on all the things I’ve read to cut it back to 2 grams until your body adapts then up it back to 3 g or 5 g up to you lower works good as well I’m just starting it at 2 g a day until my body gets use to it ! Hi @veronicacisowski1429 Creatine works well with a broad range of supplements, but if you're taking caffeine in large amounts, it might slightly counteract creatine's efficacy in muscle energy production. Hydration is key when taking creatine. It helps in the proper absorption and utilization of creatine in your muscles. So, while not a supplement, ensuring adequate water intake is crucial. Hope this helps! -Team JJ
If there is one quality that creatine has that makes it worth taking, injury prevention. If it helps prevent muscle strain or soft tissue injury it is well worth it.
@pdmdm9821 JJ personally prefers adding creatine to her morning smoothie, but it's also fine to take it in capsule form whenever suits your routine. As for protein, it's crucial to consume it around your workouts to aid in muscle recovery and growth. You can have a protein shake either before or after your workout, depending on when you feel you need that boost the most. Hope this helps! -Team JJ
@@jjvirginvideos Thank you. I love and appreciate all your videos. I must say that I was skeptical about taking any protein powders or supplements for that matter. Hi @timebombb77 You can absolutely enjoy coffee and creatine together! Coffee boosts metabolism, supports fat burning, and can enhance workout performance, while creatine fuels muscle strength and recovery. Together, they complement each other-caffeine reduces perceived exertion, and creatine aids strength and recovery. Just stay hydrated! -Team JJ

Hi Diane, thanks so much for your comment! This is a great question and is a reason why JJ strongly suggests using a bio-impedance scale and a tape measurer. You want to put on muscle and if you do, you will lose fat. But you won't be able to know that if you don't use a bio-impedance scale. If you do put on some water weight, that's ok. It usually normalizes itself. Also, you'll want to make sure you're getting enough protein. Here is a bio-impedance scale that JJ recommends - a.co/d/b1FFECT - Team JJ
You WILL GAIN WEIGHT if you are NOT working out.. you have to exercise and not just walking but really workout hard and drink a gallon of water you will slim down nicely with a nice body Comp from the muscle gain

Does it matter if you take HCL or monohydrate?
-Team JJ
I was wondering im i cant do resistance training but i do brisk walks i have lost lots of weight with gastric bypass would creatine benefit me if so how would a bariatric patient use it thanks
Thank you so much
I have a Problem with the weightgain with creatine Even if I know it is just a number and Not fat.
Bio-impedance scale
Hey! For body composition scale, I recommend this: amzn.to/3IzidAc
Is one better than the other? Creatine HCL or Monohydrate?
If you read the transcript it says Creatine monohydrate 🙂
@@juliedowling5950 I missed it -Thanks so much!
Your SHEateine, have HCl not mono hydrate. So we shouldn’t do the pill version?
Hi there! SHEatine is currently available in capsule form, and we’ll be introducing a powder option soon. Both are great choices-just pick the one that fits your preference! -Team JJ
I am 60yr old I do resistance training 5days a week I am BP PATIENT can I use creatine supplement
Thanks, I just started taking creatine monohydrate but was unsure of how much, if it was daily and when to take it. I am taking Sun Warrior but am not vegan. Wanted a clean one. Does the brand matter? Thanks!
I am using the Sun Warrior creatine, as well.
Why don’t you mention who should not taking it? Side effects?
I enjoyed listening to this. My 15 year old was given creatine from a friend and an MMA fighter I know was against it so I told him not to take it. Now I’m curious and rethinking it…. For the both of us
please link studies covering your points.
I began daily creatine July 30. My Sep 10 labs showed a high BUN/creatinine level of 36….is this correlated?
Hi JJ, i am 62 my name is Cathy. I have been very unwell for four years and have lost my strength and muscle mass i have been very sedentry because of fatigue. I am concerned about not having any exercise. The slightest amount of exercise hurts any muscle if any. Is there still hope for me to improve my muscle and strenth? I have got IBD, which is a massive contribution to my weakness. Would creatine powder help me with this? I do not take any medication. I always have a reaction. And stop taking it.

If you try a low carb diet it might help with your pain. It works for me.
I tried Creatine for a week I would wake up in the morning with aches and pains. So I stopped using it and the aches and pains went away. I don't know why it caused this! Has anyone else experienced this?
What do you think about WW to lose weight?
It's great. It actually teaches you how to eat healthy. You have to buy your own groceries or food at a restaurant.
No packaged food that doesn't teach you anything.
I joined in 2012. Became Lifetime in 2013. I am still Lifetime and attend meetings because I always learn new ideas. 😊
I ordered two different ones after seeing this video. However, I read after taking creatine will cause hair loss and of course weight gain. So I haven't taken it and not planning to do so.
Which brand please
This is the only creatine I use: store.jjvirgin.com/collections/supplements/products/clean-creatine-powder
Can you take it if you had breast cancer
Creatine is safe for most and supports muscle, bone, and brain health. However, if you have a history of breast cancer, consult your healthcare provider before starting it to get advice tailored to your health. -Team JJ
Is it good if elderly doesn’t exercise, but just a 10 min walk daily?
I seem to get heart palpitations while on it. I’m trying it again for the 3rd time. I can’t find much information on this as a side effect. Only taking 1/2 tsp. I weigh 117. I decreased from 1 tsp
I took creative for a couple months before a blood test I just happened to have scheduled and what I found was my kidneys were getting over saturated with it. What is up with that.
I will up it after a month see how it goes ❤good luck reasearch it a lot that’s what I did..
I’m a chef working long hours and heavy lifting on my feet all day, I’m 50 now will this help my aching body at the end of the day!??!!
Im sure it would. I bet collagen supplimentation would help with this too
Glutamine helps with cravings, wound healing and mood and leaky gut
The creatine link didn't work
Hi there! We are sorry for any inconvenience. Clean Creatine has now been improved and replaced with SHEatine capsules. Here is the link below for more detailsreignitewellness.com/collections/all/products/sheatine-capsulesHope this helps! -Team JJ
Are there other supplements that we should not be taking with creatine
Hi @veronicacisowski1429 Creatine works well with a broad range of supplements, but if you're taking caffeine in large amounts, it might slightly counteract creatine's efficacy in muscle energy production. Hydration is key when taking creatine. It helps in the proper absorption and utilization of creatine in your muscles. So, while not a supplement, ensuring adequate water intake is crucial. Hope this helps! -Team JJ
It is supper beneficial but as a drawback, I am losing my hair after 2 weeks
If there is one quality that creatine has that makes it worth taking, injury prevention. If it helps prevent muscle strain or soft tissue injury it is well worth it.
When’s the best time to take the Creatine and Protein?
@pdmdm9821 JJ personally prefers adding creatine to her morning smoothie, but it's also fine to take it in capsule form whenever suits your routine. As for protein, it's crucial to consume it around your workouts to aid in muscle recovery and growth. You can have a protein shake either before or after your workout, depending on when you feel you need that boost the most. Hope this helps! -Team JJ
@@jjvirginvideos Thank you. I love and appreciate all your videos. I must say that I was skeptical about taking any protein powders or supplements for that matter. But your videos have truly helped me see the need and it has been very helpful in my start to this change in lifestyle. Keep up the great work!
Thank you!
Can you drink coffee and then take creatine?
Hi @timebombb77 You can absolutely enjoy coffee and creatine together! Coffee boosts metabolism, supports fat burning, and can enhance workout performance, while creatine fuels muscle strength and recovery. Together, they complement each other-caffeine reduces perceived exertion, and creatine aids strength and recovery. Just stay hydrated! -Team JJ
Thank you for video❤ I’m experiencing weight gain ones i start to take creatine, tried 3 times to start take it then this weight gain happens i feel very bad.. and i stop taking, then again and again tried, same situation.., could you explain how to overcome this?
This the reason i don’t take it, just can’t go through this stage with expanded body
You look amazing
Thank you!
Tell us a good brand 😊

Hi I read that youare a holistic reader which is great because at moment there are not many. i have a q on creatine. I read it was good for your muscles including heart and brain as you said. And at the same time says studies can not tell you if its good for bp which is opposite what was just said. Their answers are from sites with pharma ads that are skizo and to consult someone it raises another question if their sources are reliant on main stream brought to us by the people on shoveling poop or other info .Can you steer us to studies not reliant on studies that favor no pharma ? A third party that will not repeat if data does not match whats being repeated. Tells us the real deal Thx!!
Do Not Age has a very pure creatine for a very low price!!!
I am the supplement person in our house, doing all the research, filling all the pill boxes, yet I knew nothing about creatine until my husband brought it up. Well, I’m all on now! I had always assumed it was for gym rats. How wrong I was!
1. Workout harder, less sore
2. Brain functioning
3. Skin
Take everyday. 5g (over 120lbs)
Does it interfere with your sleep?
@MBT372 It has nothing to do with your sleep patterns. No it won't.
Can an elderly person (male) start to take creatine? Is it dangerous?
Joe Rogan spoke about the success they were finding in senior living homes. Go search his podcast on it.
I thought that you were to take creatine only after you work out, not necessarily every day.
60s is elderly 😂😂
Eat meat. Has creatine & loads of other gr8 things 👌

Has anyone noticed it increasing their heart rate?
