I don’t understand why Spyderco always ships the PM2 with the clips in the insane people position. This will be a great version for Spyderco .
I mean. It takes a min to swap lol
The wet bread folk!
Tip down so you can spydy flick it as you pull it out. If it’s tip up then you have to spin it before you can flick it.
I've read on forums (so take that's for what it's worth) tip down was how Sal liked it so they continue to do it that way... 😳
@@jeffcanfixit Makes the most sense. Options are always good.
Dude, I have that Cruwear Para 3 and its crazy good for the money.
A bunch of people have had that PM2 Salt. It sells out immediately everywhere.
I love spydercos- thanks so much for showing
Wow that’s awesome! Love my PM2
Thanks for heads up. I purchased this knife. First rate!
I just got mine this week, too from REC
Saving up for one of these will be a great addition to my collection
Fantastic knife. I got mine about a month ago. I totally love it!
Me too
Awesome !!! I have to get me one!!!
Just got mine in the mail today, I just started getting into the “super steels” and so far I’ve got the para 2 dark gray g10 maxamet, this salt and I had been looking for the cruwear pm2 with the black g10 and coating as well and i found one on Arizona custom knives today after getting this pm2 salt
I was excited for the salt para2 to replace my para2 lightweight but held off on it for a bit. Managed to order this one instead because of the all black and it’s a little bigger but I don’t mind. Living in the PNW and being in the aquarium hobby I don’t have to worry about water getting on it lol. My first time ordering from The Knife Joker and first Magnacut knife.
This PM2 model is excellent. The black is great for tactical use in humid/wet environments. One can get the Bumblebee colorway for activities benefitting from high visibility. I have loved it so far.
I’m still waiting on my black n yellow preorder, can’t wait to add it to my pm2 collection
That drop!!🔥🔥
I want a military 2 in cru wear or s90 but they don't have alot of aftermarket support.
black spydercos look too good, very underrated.
Oohh, the blacked out tanto PM2!
The coating they use seems to be really good and durable, but I prefer shiny DLC, like the stuff Kunwu Knives is using. I'm doing a couple special Spyderco builds this year in black, and I'm planning on getting the blades mirror polished, then sending them in to a place that will DLC coat them for me. So they'll be mirrored black.
@@hificat101 sounds too good as well lol
Received mine 3/4 weeks ago, I'm considering myself lucky as I'm in canada and had to spot for it for a long time on wonders and warriors. It's a magnificent knife and as stated i feel it's tanky enough to withstand a nuclear winter seriously...when you look at it screens quality. For the black color in the other comments I plan to order on of those iridium thingy to spot it easily, plus titanium hardware of course, cheers m8, good video. My first "quality knife" couldn't be happier 😊
Snagged one off of Blades Canada too! Pretty sure itvwas the last one as it was sold out immediately after i checked out. Received it a couple weeks ago and its quickly become a daily driver. First PM2 ive had. Was carrying the Stretch 2 K390 a lot before.
Good thought on adding something to make it a little less easy to lose in the dark
I took delivery of my Salt PM2 DLC in MagnaCut in mid-March this year (2 full months ago) at a steal on eBay for just $217 ($232 after tax).
It’s a fantastic knife and my third PM2 variant (old school satin S30V plain edge & DLC M4 tanto are the other two).
I really want that Cru-Wear Para3 lightweight but not in green. It should be black.
Would it be easy to swap the green lightweight scales with my standard all-black BD-1 lightweight Para 3 blade?
so far my favorite PM2!! I already added titanium scales with black hardware..
I also have it, the steel and action is awesome. BUT all the edges could be more rounded. If hard using the blade it makes unwanted pressure and marks in your hand. I had to sand all the edges with 240 sand paper.
I absolutely love mine.
I got mine over a month ago from Blade HQ. I think they just sold out everywhere very quickly.
Nice knife! I like the stealthness, but with the all black color, I could see myself losing it too easily. Too many nice knives and too little money. Holding out for the future new coating one that Eric G. hinted at.
Just bought mine on GP knives. Can’t wait to hold it in person.
Would love this in PM3
I got that pm3 knifejoker exclusive and def loving it. Pm2 a little too big for me to edc
Noice. I've still never owned a DLC spyderco. Thanks for planting that desire into my brain.
I Do have a PM2 in elmax and saber ground, but now im'a have to buy a DLC spyderco
Spyderco DLC is rough and may affect cutting performance.
@@georgelin8498 Spyderco is switching over to an in-house blade coating. Later incarnations of this knife will have the other coating.
You should consider a custom blade… acid stonewash looks much better than dlc. Already looks beat up, but beautiful- but also you wont care that youre using it because the dlc will show wear much worse
Tenacious is by far my favorite Spyderco, I have all 3 blade styles but this is a beautiful knife
everyone jizzing over Magnacut
😂😂
It's a pretty damn good steel for a folding knife if corrosion resistance is important to you. It's also pretty tough, and has decent edge retention. It's really weird how people really like steels that do what they need need them to do.
pff lol. He acts like I insulted his grindr date or something.. lol
Yea why not, it’s got good salt resistance
Just ordered mine, now im watching yt vids about it in anticipation lmao
My second favorite part of all this 💯
Great intro.! That Para 3 is the goat but it costs a fortune in Australia. One day it will make a great retirement gift for me from me. Para 3 with Mcut will just complete my wish list. Does it come uncoated.?
It oddly does not.
I want that knife but have the non coated version pre ordered
Spyderco hands down are the best!
It’s on DLT,GP Knives blade hq and almost every other distributor.
Yeah it’s a new production model
Damn that's a nice knife
I got mine at smkw last month 20% off sale. Last one they had and it hasn’t left my pocket yet. I prefer tip down carry though just better ergonomic for me. I’ve got a ton of knives in my collection but nothing can knock the PM2 out of my pocket, the perfect edc in my opinion.
Do you really enjoy how the jimping on the back of the blade hump shreds the side of your hand when you reach into the pocket? Personally I’ve never found that ergonomically pleasing.
@@taylorfishman823carry it tip up then
Those scales looks so classy. How aggressive are they though? Gonna tear up the pockets?
Definitely, much more aggressive than usual. Easly to fix with some sandpaper
For me a MagnaCut Military 2 Wharnchliff all black like this would be perfect Spyderco, but im not holding my breath. I am however hopeful they will make I Magnacut Military 2 and I really want one.
Have had my yellow/black version on pre-order since October. Hope this means it'll be showing up soon!
That black one is pretty damn sexy.
Edit - you caused me to spend $212 with your coupon. Don't tell the girlfriend. 😉
PM3 with black cruwear and black lightweight handle would be my choice...but yeah doesnt exists yet.
Same but digital cam 👌
Damnit, I didn’t need another knife…
Para 3. No paramilitary 3 yet 😢
Love Magnacut but I hate the scales on that one
I didn't think you could use bearings on a salt version. Wonder how well it would hold up
They are washers. Smock is the only model with bearings afaik
Doesn't feel needed though...already so smooth
Could use ceramic ball bearings but it's not really needed for this type of knife imo
A Sage with black G10 and magnacut would be the perfect EDC knife.
Just got mine ordered to Canada.
My first properly nice knife. cant wait for that smooth flipping.
Is it true all the hardware on this knife is extremely corrosion resistant?
I work outside in Louisiana, and I sweat buckets. Do you think this knife will hold up? I've kept the dragonfly salt in my pocket for two years, and I've had no issues
Yep
Yes it will, everything has been made corrosion resistant
@@maxlvledc awesome. I got mine in the mail last week! Love it. Love it even more now that I know I can carry it at work ☮️✌️
@@maxlvledc do you know what the HRC is on Spyderco's magnacut?
1:50 untrue, pm2 handle is not big enough. Caribbean handle and liners with a straight spine and raised rim around its handle's perimeter like pm2 salt, would be the best.
I’m still not sure about the salt series in black… bright colors are easier to see while on the kayak
You havent even bought it and youre already looking for it underwater. Just dont buy it, get a $50 dollar knife. My advice
I have a bunch in yellow already. Mostly use Atlantic salt in full serrated H1.
That knife is awesome enough that it would warrant joining the Navy SEALs to ensure you have an iron clad excuse to buy one 😊 (JK!)
They have a version with yellow bumble bee handle......
@@Elecerv I use my Manix 2 in SPY27 for nearly everything. Just making a point about the black in the salt series. So, so, different :)
I clicked on the video for the PM2, but I left wanting the Para 3…🔪🔪🔪
I wish they made it with a comboedge
No pm3 either.
I would take any of those spyderos if you are giving them away. I'll prob never own one. Best knife I own is a olight knife made by kaiser. It's nice but nothing to brag about. Sucks being poor
$236.25 😢
It's a premium one for sure.
I just ordered one of these to replace my ultratech as my work knife. I'm pretty hyped on it. Apparently the UT is too aggressive 😢
Made in Colorado USA Earth.
I don’t think any factory PM2 is perfect OOB (just like Glocks) . clip - terrible, c’mon… and so many scale options. I would love to see a custom shop direct from Spyderco- build to order… blade steel, blade shape, coatings, hardware, all of it. They would make a killing. Flytanium and others have plenty of other makers to keep revenue going. I want a pm2 in XHP with an acid stonewashed wharn-cleaver, bronzed hw and liner with nonle raffir contoured scales with a backslider bottle opener backspacer. Id also be ok if they changed up their thumbhole. Nothing drastic- but some variations would be fun
Spydercos just don't do it for me. I have owned a couple dozen of them in many different models and I just never keep them around. I am not saying they are not great tools, they are just not my jam. Thanks for sharing. The Knife Joker has some excellent exclusives!
For me its the same , i never understood the "hype" around Spyderco. Every knife looks nearly identical , sure they are good knives but not for me aesthetically not really pleasing
Spyderco are great if youre just a worker, I manage beef cattle in 7 ranches, Ive carried a Military 2 s30v since 2011. It is my perfect carry, doesnt matter if I have leather gloves on. It’s been used for everything I can imagine. But id understand if youre trying to look nice👌 it is not the one. What do you prefer to carry?? Im interested?
@@Elecerv I typically gravitate towards a more gentleman style carry for EDC such as Pena, Tactile, etc. Often with a small fixie from AriesEDC or others. I have a desk job so most days my daily tasks are minimal compared to working on a farm.
@@Elecerv Currently my favorite is the Civivi Vision, i am not a huge knife enthusiast but i had to get one of these.
Spyderco knives are built to last and comfortable in hand.
Yeah, so toughness on a scale of 1 to 10 is actually a ….2
Love how you say cruware is the best better then magnacut then you pretend you love magnacut when you open it 😂😂😂😂
Must be new, the tip is intact.
Omg, what masochist prys with a pm2
@@maxlvledc I’ve never seen a spyder that’s actually used that has an intact tip. Seems they’re always broken.
@@trollingdirty8910I have carried Spydercos daily for thirty years and never broken a tip . I am a landscaper .
I use it . For cutting .
I sharpen knives profesionaly, since the early 90's. No factory edge should be used, no factory edge comes "Scary Sharp" (not even close to a razor's edge). All factory edges must be sharpened (before use) or even better reprofiled too, to remove any "burnt" steel that can cause failures (chips/rolls even with light use) as also, to enhance the performance of the blade, to where it should be at. Edge retention and toughness, as also cutting ability, increases 3 times at least, after a proper reprofiling (to a slight convex edge bevel) and 2 or 3 full sharpening sessions, to remove any burnt steel.
Hmm, I should do this.
Wrong. I just watched someone Bess test a bunch of Spyderco knives out of the box. Half of them tested less than 100. One of them tested at 50. That's pretty damn close to razor blade sharp. Spyderco's typically have scary sharp factory edges.
@@hificat101 Their edges aren't mirror polished son. They are factory sharpened ( not polished, flat edges, have no luck, compared to a properly sharpened edge.Their edge retention edge stabilit yis so poor, tha they chip and lose sharpnes fast.).Also,everything else I said, isn't wrong,it's facts. It's you who don't have the knowledge, that's why it seems "Wrong" to you. Facts are facts. PS 90% of the people, who buy expensive knives,do not use them at all, they just collect them and they eat dust in their drawers. Add to your misjudgment that too.
@@greekveteran2715 dude. A knife edge that scores a 50 on a best test is sharp as fuck. It's literally razor sharp.
@@hificat101 ANY factory edge, will have issues if put in use. The edge will chip or rool (softer steels) Syperco will chip, ALSO, it wan't last much it's sharpnes,ALSO it won't cut as hood as a properly sharpened edge. ALL factories BURN the steel with their fast belts (others more others less but all do) YOU HAVE to get rid of that burnt steel to use the knife without iissues, NO factory flat edge, can much a slightly convexed mirror polished edge ( not even close) Knife sharpened 2 to 3 times and properly profiled edge bevel, can will not only have 5 times better performance but also it WONT GE DAMAGE. For Chrit's sake, I don't have the time, top explain to every amature on RUclips, that his only knowledge, relies on videos and not experience or any knowledge on the subject.
Yellow is much better than black and gray. 99.99% of knife blogging is some sort of grayscale, this is so meh
cmon guys you are not delta force navy seals, bring some COLORS
Most people aren't trying to draw attention to their knives since some sheeple get fussy about that type of stuff
Good there are after marked scales
@@zripster their knives laying down in the closed boxes in their home all the time since second day after purchase lol
@ollibo maybe for you, but i and many other collectors carry their knives
Also, it’s not a Pm3 it’s called a para 3 come on man
Got my Salt PM2 about a month or so ago from Knifejoy. Best Spyderco I own easily. Immediately dropped $500 on complete black DLC everything for it and now have one of the sickest user PM2s I’ve seen anywhere (tho I am a little biased lol). But seriously- came basically tuned out the box and when I say sharp I mean freakin light saber sharp…in fact if you stare at it hard enuf it may actually cut you ;-)
You're basically a worst version of a funko pop collector if you buy spyderco's. Like the 37 past para's 3's don't do the same thing and last a life time anyways.
