    In this video I'll share with you the process I went through to try and make a modern version of the classic Xbox Controller S in clear green using parts from a replacement shell and buttons kit made by those clever people at‪@ExtremeRate‬
    It's a very easy process but I made some silly mistakes along the way, I'll share those with you and explain how you can avoid them if you try it yourself!

    I just did this exact process, but I used the home button from thr Xbox 20th anniversary edition controller. It has a green X instead of a black one, so when the controller is off its obvious what it's emulating. I also used the menu, view, and capture buttons since they are black with gray icons instead of white icons. This also made it feel a bit more like the OG controller.

    I love the days when we used to have see-through electronics, though I'm seeing more and more mods for see-through shells whether for the whole Switch, or for controllers. Any chance you'd do a guide for PS5 controllers? Awesome video as always!

    It is very easy to damage this side parts when disassembling, as it happened to me, but it was no big deal, since I was able to use the same parts afterwards anyway.

    Thanks using this because i'm replacing the thumb sticks as they are worn :D I might give a go at changing the shell at some point too though I'd have to but I just ordered the Starfield controller with the beautiful translucent triggers... You're controller looks great by the way I like how you kept some of the original black bits, looks great with the contrast. I've just ordered black thumbsticks but I was looking at the extremerate transparrent thumbsticks (the glacier blue ones, as I had a glacier blue GBA :D) and was wondering if they are the same material (the rubber) on top? Thanks!

    • @JoeBleeps
      @JoeBleeps  Год назад +1

      These green thumbsticks are clear plastic on the dome and stick, with clear green rubber on the top part. They look and feel great. That Starfield controller is beautiful

    Used this video a while ago to replace the shell. I have been trying to replicate the og xbox with the same color abxy buttons as the original. It’s impossible to find. I’d have to order each color separately and all the buttons I can find are for xbox one controllers.

      @JoeBleeps  8 дней назад +1

      @@TheEbicMaster yes it's frustrating, I was trying to find buttons like that too. It sucks to have to buy 4 whole sets!

      Everything has a smoother surface so it's a little strange to get used to. Out of the four controllers I have, this is the one I'll usually pick up though. I like it!
