    Looks great, exactly what I want to do. But would have been useful to actually show in detail how it’s done.

    Excellent job, I was going to do the same thing to ours but I changed my mind from lattice, instead I decided to do horizontal boards with 3/4 inch gap between each board for a little bit more privacy.

    Only reason I'm considering this is because my neighbors security camera supposed have his driveway is turned so much is looking in my backyard... Really dislike being watched or feel like being watched by a grumpy old man ...

      @@samuraioodon unfortunately it is!! I’m dealing with the same thing right now with a creeper I’ve lived next door to for 16 years suddenly is creeping on me!!! Being a general asshole, spraying my dog with water when he barks- my dog hates him but not the other neighbor. Plays his music so loud in his garage I can’t hear mine in the other garage. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Just started this year 🤦🏻‍♀️🤯😡

    How did you attach the fence post extensions on top of the fence posts?

  • @Kelly-lo6cz

    How did you go about broaching the awkward topic to your neighbors of, "hey, is it ok if we extend the fence so we won't have to see you?".... I want to do this but A.) I don't know who technically owns the fence and B.) It's such an awkward topic..... any tips?

      Luckily, we both agreed that our fence is way too short and that everyone in our neighborhood would probably appreciate more privacy. Knowing this, it made it easier to approach the conversation knowing they had the same hopes as us. Also, our neighbor has vines growing on her side so we have even more privacy now! My #1 advice is forming relationships with your neighbors so these conversations about the yard don’t feel so uncomfortable! Luckily, we got the jackpot with our neighbors!

      Put on your big girl pants grow a spine and speak your mind. Them not being able to see into your backyard also means you can't see into theirs so the only reason they'd have an issue is because they want a view into yours

    Just have a question , is it allowed to build privacy fence in California? I would like to build it in my back yard .

    • @stunningmisadventures
      @stunningmisadventures  3 месяца назад +1

      Under California’s Building Code, you must obtain a permit before building a fence that will be over 6 feet tall unless the top 2 feet of the fence will be barbed wire. For a front yard fence, the maximum height is 42 inches. For a backyard fence, the maximum height is 72 inches. However, we live in California and have never gotten a permit for any of our projects. I think we might run into problems when we sell the house but we could always take it down if needed

    Did you have to talk to your neighbors before adding it? I don’t want to, severe social anxiety

    • @stunningmisadventures
      @stunningmisadventures  Год назад

      Yes, we asked both neighbors on each side of us. I understand! We luckily talk to our neighbors a lot but my husband is the extrovert out of the two of us. Maybe you can write a note and leave it on their door instead?

    Does your home have HOA? If so, did you have your get approval from them too?

      No, we don’t have HOA. We tried to avoid it when we were searching for our home due to the limitations and changing costs

    I'd move. Way too close to neighbors and too much work for a little privacy.
