    "Synthetic organic"? That sounds like an oxymoron to me-what does "organic" mean in this context?

      Organic in this context means the pigment is a compound composed of principally carbon and hydrogen atoms with a few other elements such as nitrogen and oxygen. The organic (carbon and hydrogen containing) pigment was synthesized or is man made and not extracted from a natural source.
