your bird is enchanting! a lot of really useful tips here. i never would have thought of using a cartoon-like drawing as reference for loose watercolor. thank you.
Gorgeous mixed media art Journal 🥰 I love your watercoloring, your tips and your work of art. Welcome back ❤ thanks for sharing your creativity Hugs xx
Welcome back Amber! I’m so happy to see you here, you were missed! Do the digital too, that way we can choose either one or both😁 I’m excited for you and can’t wait for your new website to be revealed 🙌🏼Thank you for your inspiration ❤️
A very warm welcome back to YT Amber, you were much missed. I was concerned for you and was very happy to see a video from you today. I hope you have kept well in your absence. This piece is gorgeous, I don’t begin to understand mixed media at all but really love to see your process and the end result is a work of art as always. Sending warm hugs on a cold day! 😘❤️
Thanks, Orla! I know how you feel. I did a lot of watching other's create beautiful mixed media projects without having the courage to try it myself. When I finally jumped in and did it, it wasn't as intimidating as I thought. I hope you try it some time. Thanks again!
I am not so intuitive watercolor, but I just found Your videos, and have watched quite a few. I saw a few of your Zentangle inspired, and now I'm going down my own zentangle rabbit hole. We'll see where it leads
This video is so inspirational for me..I struggle with loose watercolor and now realize I just need to play more with it and loosen the reins a bit (and try a bigger brush)
Joy in my heart to see you back and especially with this style of watercolor. Yes please to the digital stamps. My space is very small and I am not able to keep adding so stamps that I can print are the bomb for me.
Thanks, Bonnie for your kind words and your order! It's great to be creating and posting again. That's great feedback on the digital stamps. I have to say I prefer digital for cardmaking. I love to drop in digital backgrounds and completely eliminate the need for masking. But, physical stamps are fab when I'm art journaling. So, yeah, I think there's a place for both. Next week, I'll be focused on getting my clear stamps to the manufacturer. Fingers crossed that all goes well. Thanks again!
congrats on rebranding etc. Looking forward to seeing your new stamp sets! I for one like digital stamps, less 'stuff' to store and I like being able to size my stamps to whatever I want.
I was concerned that I had not seen you for quite a while! So happy to have you back. Can't wait to see everything up and running and see all the new stamps you designed. I would love to have digital stamps available. I only have a b&w printer so the beautiful gel printed papers don't work for me but I can print digital stamps. Welcome back Amber, you were so missed!!!
Hi, Cynthia! Great to hear from you! Thanks a bunch and that totally makes sense with your printer. I will be sure to release digital stamps with the clear stamps on the next release and we'll see how it goes. Thanks again!
Loved all the tips!. You are so creative and inspiring and I am looking forward to seeing your new brand and website. I would like to see both the stamps and the digital copies in your new release.
So nice to see a video again. With Covid I always wonder what has happened to someone. Happy you’re ok. These are amazing ideas. Although I only make cards these ideas are still perfect. Some of my cards are collages and mixed media. Nice to have you back.
Thanks a bunch, Beth. Yes, I know what you mean. It's been a blessing that COVID has skipped over our home so far. So true, these techniques work great on cards too. Sometimes I forget to make mixed media cards, but when I do it's so satisfying. Happy crafting and thanks again!
Great to see your wonderful creativity again! Etty Hillesum wrote: "One must also accept that one has "uncreative" moments. The more honestly one can accept that, the quicker these moments will pass." Welcome back girl! Looking forward to seeing your new stamps.
Amber, I've so loved this video. Such authenticity and transparency in your voice and story. Your tips are great, so understandable and practical. And I love the idea of your gel printables. Great idea! Thank you. Your a great tutor.
Holy crap, Amber....this was AWESOME! So, it's been a while since I've watched you (we've both been away LOL), but I just have to say it - I started watching you when you first began your YT Channel and, it looks like my prediction was correct, which is, that you girl, are going places! So happy for you and to now hear you are designing your own stamps, well heck, that's just FAB! I'm going back to binge watch your tutorials, but Amber, I'm totally proud of you.....you GO GIRL!
Aw, thanks so much, Nancy! I remember your kind words from when I started my channel. I hope you're doing well and that you enjoyed your time away. I'm glad we're both back and I'm excited to start sharing again. Hugs!
So happy to have you back!! Your new branding is beautiful and your watercolor is fabulous! Love all the tips you gave. I’m working on my watercolor and DS collection so really enjoy watching you…keep ‘em comin!!!♥️
Great to hear from you, Teresa! Thanks very much. Daniel Smith watercolors are so yummy. You'll have to let me know the faves from your collection. Thanks again!
Clearly you are accomplished artist....and I beg to differ with you in that we are all artists...NOT me! Which is why stamping is important to me! Moving on.... I absolutely LOVE LOVE that bird! THAT could/should be a fabulous digital image or even better, a beautiful stamp! Oh, to have talent and be able to draw/paint...sigh.
I hear that from so many people. I bet you have some hidden talents that can be teased out. High five for stamping, it's a gateway for coloring, painting, and so many other techniques. Watercolor bird digital images are a great idea. I'll definitely put that on my to-do list for future projects. Thanks so much, Marilyn!
I think your rebranding must be a lot of work for you but it is a super bonus for us. You have so much talent & it is wonderful that you & we get to benefit from it. It would be lovely to have digital stamps available as well. My printer is colour, but not laser so I have to be careful what I colour with when I print an image. I read the information you have on a new laser printer & it sounds like the one I'd need as I quite often have to scan documents to send out. May I ask a question? I've seen Posca pens used in journalling where they lay the ink down, them smudge it with a finger to create shadowing. I'd like to purchase a couple, but never know if the ones I'm seeing are the same. Do they all do this or are there different Posca pens? Sometimes things are confusing for me as I'm new to art journalling & gel printing. I must say, your bird is delightful & I'm going to spend some time looking at your store.
Thanks so much, Teri! I love my laser printer. It prints beautifully, but I will admit I still have not figured out the best settings to scan my artwork. I actually get better results taking high-resolution photos of my artwork. As far as Posca pens go, the acrylic paint in all of their pens is the same, regardless of the nib size. The ability to smear should be the same from pen to pen. However, larger nibs lay down more paint and may be easier to smear. Whereas, smaller nibs lay down less paint which dries faster and may be more challenging to smear. This is just speculation, not something I tested. Posca is the only brand of acrylic pens I've tried so I can't speak to other brands. I hope that helps! Happy creating!
I'm new to your channel & enjoy your work. Great tips! Can I ask the brand & model of your laser printer? I'm considering a purchase & can use advice. I look forward to viewing more of your videos. Thank you.
Thanks, Denise! For sure, I use a Brother color laser printer amzn.to/3Hdo634. You'll find the specific printer at the link provided. If you don't need the scan/fax function, you can find a brother color laser printer without those options as well. When looking for a printer for crafting, I recommend one that can handle cardstock with a manual feeder in addition to the standard automatic tray feeder. Make sure the manual feed pulls the paper straight through the printer. It usually goes in the front and comes out the back. While the automatic feeder spools it around a drum. It's hard to curl thick paper like cardstock and watercolor paper around a spool. I hope that helps. Happy crafting!

Thanks, Mary! Yes, that's how I feel too, plus I have a mask aversion so digital is great for that.
