In this video, we install a 42" Cali Raised LED light bar on a Prinsu Roof Rack. This light bar will work on both the Tacoma Prinsu & 4Runner Prinsu with a 40" cut-out.

Good job. Very clean. I prefer affordable over the higher priced stuff. I have used my aux lights all of 3 times since installing them a year ago. I'd feel like I wasted money if I had purchased what I had in my cart originally.
Time for a S-pod!
Same here, I was debating whether to buy the regular wind deflector or the one with the cutout for the light bar. I don't think I need a light bar, but I do need a roof rack. But I will get a light bar and install it beneath or on the inside of the grill.
Me too. I mostly get auxiliary lights because they look cool, but I use them on rare occasions.
That’s a lot of shoes on the wall haha we use a wire hanger to run wires through, makes a smaller hole in the grommet. Good on the video. Clear to understand.
please show how to wire and put in a switch!
Instead of loosening the wind deflector, could you have turned the bracket around so the bottom bolt is beneath the light bar? I think that’s how it’s displayed when mounted in the Caliraisedled photos O.o
Only issue stopping me from buying this is the glare on the hood. This seems like a problem with all Taco/4runner.
Very good install guide. I appreciate the video.
I can’t help but wonder if light bars are really even necessary or just more for show..With good high and low beam headlight LED’s, I’ve been able to see everything great.
The lumens are drastically different, therefore much brighter.
It makes for some fun night wheeling trips. You can see far down the trails and light up the sides to see all around. From pitch black darkness to fully lit up..it’s pretty amazing if you’ve never experienced it.
It’s also infectious! Once one goes on, more start popping up
I used to think that too, but I caved and invested in a 40" diode dynamics light bar, and it's crazy how much it does
Can’t compare driving on city roads to pitch Blk trails in middle of nowhere
You're definitely right. This type of guys are just over kill with everything they try too build and justify as necessary.
Ordered prinsu roof rack and 42" cali raised led from running4taco for my 2018 TRD 4X4 OFFROAD..can't wait to receive the package and install.
Just purchased the the same set up. Did your led bar come with the wiring harness? Runnin4tacos.com didn't have that option when checking out. Thanks.
Good video, but folks may note that it really does not matter how you mount the light in the bracket (wire to driver or passenger side) since you didn't USE that to run down into the vehicle. You used the wiring harness and zip tied the light's wiring. And the light's wiring would have reached to the driver's side if the light was mounted with it being on the passenger side.
So curious… Cali LED shows the proper way to install this is using the included PRINSU brackets completely opposite from how you all did it in this video. Wouldn’t that have solved your initial problem of it being too high?
Nice job. Too bad you didn't have a SwitchPro, would have made the wiring much easier and faster.
How does the quality feel compared to the Baja one?
Pro tip. Push your wire pushing tool through first, attach and then pull through, never try to push wires, always pull wires, pushing is a headache
Also don't use a metal flat head to tuck wires
Exactly causing pinch or crimped wires. Did you ever install one blake??
Got thinking about it.... inline fuses can save electrical nightmares too

Answer is probably a yes. But I can mount a light bar with the same setup you did on a load bar, right? Asking because I only have a camper shell rack with load bars
Definitely
Why not install the negative wire straight to the battery? That's how I have mine
Your test is so close to good... but you’re shooting in automatic exposure so the camera just keeps changing to adjust to the amount of light it’s seeing.
Yeah sorry, it was on our little hand held
Is tucking the cord from the light bar up under it the only option? Seems like the cord that goes directly to the light should be longer or much shorter.
The cord is long, But it allows for different placements of where you prefer to run the cord.
Did you get those mounting brackets from prinsu or cali raised? Thanks!
Why do you think there is a big price difference between the one you propose and the one on cbi website?
How is the glare from the hood? I’m worried it’ll reflect off it too much.
There's a bit of a glare, but not much can be done about it. Apparently the Sports have more of a glare because of the scoop. I don't have the scoop though, so I can't say for sure.
Are there lights designed to be used while driving that won’t blind people? Even the amber ones look so bright. Are any of them dimmable?
SAE type
Nice video as always. Had a question for you guys. What blacked out led light bar is a good fit for this rack. I blacked out my taco from fog, tailights, headlight badges, inserts, grill, pod lights and more but I cant seem to find a 42 inch blacked out single row led light bar that I can put on my prinsu rack. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I think Rigid Industry has one
I'd just get a regular led bar that fits and probably find some vinyl wrap that's black or possibly window tint might work but will most likely lower your light output
Could've flipped the first brackets for a lower mounting option
Great video. Did you do the video on installing an OEM switch to the light bar. I’m about to do some installs and I am a little nervous about the electrical stuff. Any tips will be appreciated. Thanks
We haven't but we will be doing a dedicated switch video
What bulbs are you guys using for your high beams by any chance? Thanks.
I would like to know this as well
Same here.
The link to the light bar doesn’t work… none of the links work?? Repost a working link please!
I’m looking to get a Prinsu rack. I’m the middle of looking for my LED bar for it. I have Rigid Pod lights now! What switch did you use? I found one off CH4x4
I’m from Denver too!
We have switches available online and in store. If your'e in Denver then come on in and see them in person.
Do you have a link to the brackets you used??
Did u use the Prinsu supplied bracket to keep the lightbar lower?
Does it can fit to 4x4 victory room rack for 5th gen 4runner
How does this light bar compare overall to the Baja one?
It does great. Great output compared to the price.
did you upload a video on how to install the actual switch? if so can you pls provide link? Thanks
We don't have one but there are many on RUclips already
How many Lumens is that light bar?
Not too sure but it should be in the description of the linked product
Did you buy the Prinsu mounting bracket kit from Cali Raised, or did you order a light bar mounting kit from Prinsu? Both offer the kit. I ordered one with the Prinsu roof rack, so I don't want to spend another $40 on the Cal Raised kit if I don't need it.
How do you like the Cali raised. I’m thinking of getting that or the heretic one that prinsu recommends. But it’s sooooo much more
Brian Breed I’m having the same dilemma. The heretic is really nice but I think for the price there’s got to be diminishing returns compared to something like the Cali Raised. I might end up going with the Cali Raised 43 inch Amber/White combo bar and modify my Prinsu to get it to fit. That light bar seems to be an overall better quality light bar than the 42 inch one.
I have a Prinsu roof rack with light bar cutout , so I am able to make it sit flush flush like that without cutting the sides of the roof rack from what I am understanding in the video correct ? I have a stage series 42in diode dynamics light bar.
Yes! No cutting will be needed. Prinsu makes the cutout on the fairing 44 inches to accommodate for slightly longer light bars
@@Runnin4Tacos I tried installing it the other day for it can sit flush but I didn’t have any luck, the sides of the fairing were hitting the sides of the light bar. This is on a RAV4 2021 Hybrid . Is there something I am doing wrong here? I am using the Prinsu brackets .
wheres the drivers side mirror from? rav 4 or aftermarket?
Not sure, it came with the vehicle but most likely a RAV4
hey does the moon roof still open with the prinsu rack?
It'll open with any roof rack
Are you still selling the bumper?
What are the 4 lights in the grill? Can you post link or name?
They're Raptor Lights, you can get em in amber or white like he's got and you can get a smoked out option for both, hope this helps!
😍👍
Stock halogen + LED high beams looks brightest. Light bars = waste $$$.
You guys should've put that money into perimeter floods, the front was already very nice and bright 👍
Otherwise good video
The camera focused on the spot. You can see when he first turns on the Top bar (which has perimeter floods on the ends btw) there is a second before the camera focuses where u can see how bright they really are.
That said, I wouldn’t put 2 spot beam bars. Lower one shoulda been a flood
Edit: 18:16
The brackets I got are of a different design and made of stainless steel
It depends which light bar you get
Baja squadrons are cool but no by trying to pay 1000 for a light bar
next mod soon to come! Thanks! voodoobluetacolife19 💙🌮
Last video they ever made lol
$260 is affordable?
Yes, compared to $1200 from Baja Designs
be warned prinsu silver bar does not sit flush like it does on this video making the mounts that come with the lights not work and forcing you to use prinsu attachments that sit with a huge gap. very disappointed
.....good lord....be smart, be responsible....DON'T EVER run your car in the garage with the door open...and especially when it's closed.
Pro tip. Push your wire pushing tool through first, attach and then pull through, never try to push wires, always pull wires, pushing is a headache
