Absolute Genius! Quick question if you have your car already paired via Bluetooth for calls will this also pair for audio or is it a decision of one or the other?
Yes your phone will connect with JagDroid-CD as an additional pairing at the same time. It knows the correct device to use as each has a different bluetooth profile. The Jaguar handsfree phone identifies as a 'Handsfree phone' profile, and JagDroid-CD identifies as an 'audio streaming' profile, and the phone routes the calls or music to the appropriate device!
@@JagDroid Thanks for the prompt reply @JagDriod good to know both will work in conjunction with each other and "play nicely" together . I have an x400 with a premium sound touch system but with a tape deck and multi cd in the boot, an upgrade to a single cd in the cabin will make the interior a little more pleasing to the eye, I've just taken it off the road for the winter, will certainly have this on my wish list for the new year. Thanks again
The alpine sound system sounds excellent via CD, I was wondering will the quality of sound still be high quality while the phone is connected to the Jagdroid CD player
It's still high quality certainly in comparison with FM transmissions, however with Bluetooth audio streaming there is an element of digital compression so the quality will not be exactly the same as a CD. For the ultimate in audio quality I would recommend the full Android upgrade, as this uses a hard-wired aux-in from the Android computer straight into the CD player, so you can stream directly from any music app in the highest possible quality.

Looks fantastic. I currently have the touch screen as displayed, but the cassette option. I'm using a tape adapter aux in, which, while functional, annoys me in terms of aesthetics. Can you convert a tape unit in the same way? Thanks in advance.
The cassette player is not really suitable for this as the track skip functions won't work due to the mechanism muting the audio when you fast-forward and rewind. The good news is that the CD player is a straight swap for the cassette player and so an easy upgrade.

Hi I don’t know whether you could help me.
my father has just the normal radio and he has lost all sound the head unit still lights up but nothing out of the speakers.
I don’t know whether it’s right but the app too far in the back which has fibre-optic doesn’t light up I’m thinking this is the problem.
But I haven’t got a clue what to do to fix it. Any ideas. Thanks Mick

Hi looks like a great idea, but i would have to change the CD unit. But when it is linked to you phone, can you make calls ok.??
It doesn't support phone calls, only music streaming. You can fit the original Jaguar Bluetooth phone module in order to make calls as well.

Hello! Im really interested in this! I have a jaguar x type with the standard radio but i bought the radio with the navigation system but i realized there no code for join in it! Theres is a possibility to by pass it like in the video? How can i order the Bluetooth system of the video?
If the bypass doesn't work then you will need to get a PIN code. There are services on ebay that will supply the code from the serial number. If you wanted me to do the upgrade for you, please contact me through my website or facebook page: facebook.com/jagdroid.org If you do go ahead with this, I can supply the PIN code for you as part of the upgrade.
Call dealer they can pull it up by vin or stereo number. That's what I did with my x type back in the day
Is this service still available? And how much is it? Looking to upgrade an x-type radio as it's getting annoying having to plug in and unplug a Bluetooth device into the cigarette socket every trip lol

Is there anywhere I can get this installed, I live in Milton Keynes
It's designed to be DIY installed, you just need to remove the system and send to me for the upgrade, then it's plug and play straight back in. Any garage should be able to remove the system if you won't want to DIY the removal/refit, but I have some instructions on removing the system on my website www.jagdroid.org/radio-system-removal-instructions/

I push a-mem cd still plays then pty nothing comes up on my Bluetooth I can connect with normal jaguar Bluetooth any idea anyone

@@sorryociffer not right now I'm afraid. The full JagDroid Android system upgrade is £600 plus postage which includes the Odroid Android computer with 16Gb eMMC storage, Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS etc and all cabling.
JagDroid I was wondering if you would provide an upgrade path for current customers in the future should you somehow improve what already seems to be an impressive design such as using a newer version of Bluetooth or supporting multiple connections etc.
