Except he didn't, he stabbed them, left them to die, and then set fire to the house. They had smoke in their lungs, so he had time to leave them in terror and pain, set fire to the house and leave them like fecking coward to their fate. Monster doesn't really cover what he did.

I lived in New Jersey when this happened. I knew the Canarro family. Both brothers. They were nice guys. Classic Jersey brothers. Loud and laughter and all about family. The kids were beautiful and sweet. Their parents adored them. The cousins were close as is so typical of New Jersey families. The loss for this family and the community was profound and devastating. Even now it’s a gut kick. There was speculation that Paul’s traumatic brain injury played a part in this. He wasn’t the same after his accident. He really struggled emotionally and there was a lot of frustration that turned to rage. I don’t want to even consider that he would have ever hurt his brother let alone those little ones if there hadn’t been something else at play. It really hurts too much to contemplate. Heartbreaking that the Uncle stabbed his own niece and nephew. How can Paul's defense attorney stand up and say that he loved his family? No, he murdered them. Its always tough when kids are involved.
Defense attorneys are paid to tell bulls so they do. Money is the reason he killed whole brother's family. Money is the reason someone will try to protect him.
It’s his duty. He owes an ethical duty to vigorously defend his client. Many men have been thought to be guilty only to later be exonerated. I’m not saying Paul is innocent, but the point remains that defense attorneys SHOULD advocate for their clients as strongly as possible.

Doesn't mean they were necessarily conscience during the smoke inhalation phase, hopefully, but yeah we need more severe punishments in cases like this where it's pretty damn obvious and heinous. I'm so sorry that you had to drive past this awful scene! That must have been really hard to cope with. I hope you never see something like that again.
This is a great example of why you shouldn’t judge too much based on 911 calls, because this guy sounded awkward as hell. He just seemed very disconnected from it all. “It’s a body. It’s dead. It’s a corpse.” Obviously, there’s a thousand reasons he may have had that reaction, because he clearly had nothing to do with it. But it’s such a weird reaction to finding a dead body that he’s lucky suspicion never fell on him for any other reason.
Stories like these break my heart to pieces. But the trainwreck factor is powerful, can't look away. Thank your god for Mike's levity and reverence. An amazing story teller is he

How unlucky Paul has to be to go out at the same time his brother and family is getting killed and use the same car as the murderer and have the CCTV disabled exactly when his house is put on fire! Hum... Oh wait a minute... OMG! I think I know who did all of this!!
It always blows my mind how dumb these people are. Did he really think he was getting away with this? That no one else in a nice neighborhood would have cameras? Sheesh
And the blood matching his neice. What an asshat. Bad enough to have stabbed the kids but knowing they were still alive, scared and in pain. I just lost my dad to cancer 12 weeks ago yesterday. I found my brother dead on his floor from a drug overdose 4 days ago. I was my fathers care giver for 6 years, and did chest compressions on my brother until EMS arrived knowing he was already gone. I’ve often wondered if my brother and dad were able to meet in another dimension, if they truly found peace with their passings. Then today these NDE stories started appearing on my page. Thank you for doing these stories. These have helped me find a bit of peace for the first time since finding my brother. I now believe neither of them are suffering and battling demons, and they are truly free and in the arms of love ❤️
My heart goes out to you. I can only say as time goes on you will learn to live without them . I lost my brother at the age of 31 to an overdose I had a breakdown and was hospitalised for 4 wks then my father had a heart attack and had a quadruple by pass. I hope you have people to express your loss with.
Thanks Mike. I think this is one of the most disturbing one's mainly because they were family and more especially those two poor little children were stabbed by their uncle and left to die of smoke inhalation. What a monster. It's hard to take in just how cruel some people are. Keep up the good work, love ya, from France.
"theres a corpse here its dead" "whats dead?" where the hell do they find these 911 operators? i just saw another one where the guy said "im a doctor shes dead" and the operator says "is she awake?"
I was amazed at how nonchalant the callers were as well. The one guy was like "I see blood, oh, he dead", the the wife was like "Heuheu, the turtle LOL".
A true villain always blames everyone else for their failure in life. Sometimes, embezzling does lead to murder because it reveals in the perpetrator not only financial greed, but malicious intent, as well. And when discovered, they want revenge. How sad that this happens often.
How do so many people not understand that woman was doing her job well there? Her job is to get as much info as quickly as possible, the caller didn’t give any info more than a corpse was dead, the quickest way to gain more information regarding that corpse was ask “what’s dead”. If you want to chit chat with a 911 dispatcher when you call in distress good on you but I’ll go with this lady that is doing her exact job succinctly.
I can not imagine what this guy must have been thinking! What drives a person to do this awful heinous stuff. It was bad enough kiling his own brother but to take out his entire family too! WTH! I'm almost speechless beyond comprehension. Other than that another great video Mike and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your content. It helps keep me sane in these trying times we are living in. Take care and blessed be until next time
Watching crime videos has taught me one really important lesson: there is never an appropriate punishment for anyone who kills a kid. Especially like this. Nothing can be done to this prick that could ever come close to the torture those kids endured.
It's a very low form of life that hurts little children, let alone murder them. The little girl looks like a special little girl my life; I would do very serious harm at my own peril to protect her.
Best laugh I got from this channel was where Mike said the victim was found under a three. Did a double take them corrected himself. The self awareness is real.
Not hard to tell that this one got to ya, a bit, Mike. One of the main reasons I watch is your obvious empathy for the victims. Another great story. Love ya.

God forbid you sell your two Porsches and get a lightly used minivan and a reasonable sedan, and buy a house that you can afford. "Arson committed by an Arse" ;). Oh man, you can tell a great story about some of the worst people to ever walk this earth. You've got a real talent & I'm thankful you share it with us.
I love your outro Mike. We love you too. ❤️

@@mcguffindoe192 Yep, but this case is easy money for attorney. Defend this case is impossible no matter he will say. Only he can play i to make some deal with prosecutor, but here also will be hard, cause Paul is swamped by evidences.

The sheriff's sister in law or a cop's family member that needed a gig answering phones... If I had to guess.
Yeah she’s awake but dead. 🙄
I was bothered by "It's dead". Really? No "He's dead" or "She's dead"..."It's dead". Like a spider?
A true villain always blames everyone else for their failure in life. Sometimes, embezzling does lead to murder because it reveals in the perpetrator not only financial greed, but malicious intent, as well. And when discovered, they want revenge. How sad that this happens often.

Right? All I could think was how much I admired the callers restraint! 💯

"I have a turtle inside, too hehe" ... did she just laugh about her pet turtle's impending death?
Think she was nervous
Nervous laugh. She was worried about her turtle. If she didn't care why would she show concern?
@@moonlitshrooms she didn't sound concerned to me but you're probably right. Just struck me as odd given the relationship I have with my animals
I think she was nervous, also pretty sure she knew what the dispatcher's response was gonna be so she might have felt uncomfortable bringing it up
Heartbreaking & as callous as you can get.
Had to be a difficult case for those involved-1st responders would be traumatised
I live in New Jersey and I remember this case. It’s sickening! The sense of entitlement people have makes me sick also. Why do they feel so strongly that they’re owed something simply for existing. It’s really insane. We need to be better than this or horrible things like this will continue to happen. Thanks Mike for bringing these types of stories to people’s attention.
Born and raised in NJ and yes this was all over the news. It's a insane Jersey story
@@seversley831 yeah it was definitely pretty nuts while it was going on
My condolences....for living in Jersey (;
No really, I've actually only been there once while hopping freight trains and folks were cool. Got an ex from there, she was a bit crazy but I'm still fond of her
Lucky the Lemur I live in New Jersey and I love where I live! I get to run by the water in a quiet, small town. It’s not for everyone!

Anyone else strangely comforted by the sound of Mike’s voice? Even when he reports on the worst of the worst, the way that he says they’re the worst is…the best.
Agree!
I have severe issues at night trying to fall asleep, even take meds for it. But since discovering mikes comforting voice and how he tells these true crime stories, I fall asleep every night listening to one of his videos. Really think of paying for RUclips so I don’t get interrupted with commercials as I start to finally doze…
You’re the best Mike.
Gotta love the Newfie accent
@@5tifler Fun fact: I fell asleep with this video on twice, missing pretty much everything both times.
@@ScrubMyTub Mike is from Southern Ireland just outside Dublin. But yes I can see the similarities and they are both really nice.
No matter how severe the cases are , Mike always have managed to give the cases a sweet note. a palate cleanser of sorts...Not this time, Not because he didn't do it but because this case is so horrible ....Nothing could make it less saddening
Rip to that turtle man gone but never forgotten he is remberd by his tree brothers

Hi. I lived in the walls in the home of those very nice people.😔
I saved turtle from the blazing house fire. It was hot and scary, but we both made a valiant effort to escape!
We drove to the beach the next day, then said our goodbyes.
Turtle will always lives in here☞❤️

I will never understand how these defense attorneys can claim their clients innocence with a straight face!
I was equally horrified about the turtle, personally.
Especially with the way the shithead girl chuckled when she told the dispatcher the poor turtle was still in the burning house.
I’m sure it high-tailed it out of there 😂😂😂
i mean tbh thats kinda messed up when kids were literally stabbed and left alive in a fire to die
@@alalal123421 messed up is the perspn who did the killing, equally the wife leaving an innocent creature to die in an intentional fire, equally, person who doesn't give a damn about another life.
Thank you
It never ceases to amaze me the depths a person will go to to try and hide their crimes. I can see this guy wanting to get rid of his brother since the brother was refusing to give him any more money, but the murders of his niece and nephew are just beyond heinous. Another quality video, Mike. ILU2!
I get that too .... jealousy I reckon, is behind the whole thing.
God forbid you sell your two Porsches and get a lightly used minivan and a reasonable sedan, and buy a house that you can afford. It doesn't sound like they couldn't have lived a comfortable enough life within the means they already had available to them. It also doesn't seem like his brother would have disowned him or cut him off if he had fessed up to the missing money. His brother already seemed to be caring to a fault, and willing to help provide for the family... even going so far as to tolerate/participate in disability fraud. He seemed completely charitable in his handling of the situation, given that his kids college funds were being drained and his business had serious amounts of money missing... All while he was paying them a salary on top of their government benefits. I have no patience for people who steal and kill for luxury when they could have just accepted the same basic quality of life without designer labels and without hurting others.
@@somethingelse4424 absolutely well said.
I live in the town over from where this happened, and we pass by the road their house is on constantly. It’s all anyone could talk about for months after. I still get chills when we take the road because you can’t even imagine something so horrific being nearby. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. Thank you for talking about this
Not sure how others feel when Mike does his opening, "Hey you," greeting but it always feels like he is talking to me personally. Maybe that is exactly how every single person on the planet feels each time they join Mike for a new episode. That could be the case, and it's just very cool. Love ya back Mike!

For future context: “9X19” is the cartridge dimensions. The projectile is 9mm in diameter and entire casing is 19mm long. “G.F.L.” is the headstamp of the round is usually in reference to a specific manufacturer.
Thank you. I love to know details like this.
The full name is Geco & Fiocchi G.F.L. 9 mm Luger, 9mm Para, 9x19. The caliber can pretty much be found everywhere, but if those are actually rounds manufactured in Italy, Europe, the will be coated, which is uncommon for ammunition in the US and pretty makes them stand out, even if the brand does not.

I adore all of Mike's videos but the one thing that really stands out to me, and that makes me love his content even more, is the fact that he never once asks for subs or likes! After all, if you make great content those things will happen, undoubtedly! It's such a small thing but it makes a world of difference, honestly!

He has shiIIed for his own merchandise and patreon before for sure.
Because we don't do fake sucking coque in the UK and Ireland
