    This whole case is horrible:
One woman got away with her part for several years, somehow thinks she’s a victim and has done nothing wrong, was a child abuser, defecated onto Ashley’s grave, was massively instrumental to this entire plot. She really believed she was somehow a victim who did nothing wrong.
One woman knew about the recording for several years, held it aside as insurance, didn’t once say anything or tell anyone.
And one man who knew she was involved the entire time and didn’t say anything, knew a recording existed and didn’t say anything…

No should’ve died but it’s insane that that bitch ditched her daughter for her entire life but then came back wanting her and the judge gave he anything more than some scheduled visits. It should’ve taken years of her actually showing some effort and building a relationship for it to have gotten to a point of custody disputes. This situation was basically created because of that. Still didn’t need to go down the way it did but it’s ridiculous that Ashley got the custody that she did.

This is a case of men's rights not being recognized. This case is especially appalling since the mother just neglected her responsibility for the most important years of development because she wanted to have fun in the army. If some women tried to steal my child after 6 years of me having custody for no reason other then she decided to be a mother again I would definitely be tempted to murder her also.

There is something about your presentation and how you come off caring, sincere and funny while still leaving no doubt how much you care about the victims and also making sure we know exactly what happened. These videos really helped me get threw some of the worst times of my own while dealing with debilitating depression, anxiety and just feeling totally exhausted and not wanting to do anything. Now your probably thinking this is crazy because of the subjects of these videos and your channel overall. Well, all I can say is that when I truly felt like giving up I would binge your videos and for whatever reason I was able to reassess things and laugh a bit and then I realized that I needed to do whatever it took to work on my own issues and change things so that I could possibly do something like you to help others too. Some people forget that Ashley won custody in court so there had to be a lot more going on than is known for that to happen. The courts don't just yank a child out of a stable home with a stable parent and life. After hearing what her stepmom did to her and her father was capable of doing what he did to Ashley there is a reason custody was given back to Ashley. I don't believe for a minute that Chad wasn't aware of what his wife was doing to that precious child. Her abuse was flagrant and continuous and he did nothing to stop it but people want to blame Ashley? Shame.

    • @KyrieChii

@@nineboz318 It also briefly mentions that there was 'domestic violence' between Chad & Ashley before the end of their relationship, which could've also been taken into account (particularly if there were any police reports to back that up).
It really has to be _something,_ because the courts do _not_ take 'abandonment' (which, based on this, it sounds like Ashley did when Grace was extremely little) lightly, & they _very rarely_ take the child from the only parent they've ever known (& give them to the one that left them) without real cause.
Perhaps Erica's abuse had something to do with it, it sounds like she had Chad wrapped around her little finger, possibly to the extent of knowingly letting her get away with abusing his daughter. But to play devil's advocate, it's not impossible to consider that he was abusing Erica if he could do it to Ashley (granted I'd imagine she'd bring that up during the trial if that was the case), we just don't have enough info to judge. I feel so bad for Grace, she was the victim here no matter how you slice it.

@@KyrieChii The fact that she joined the military suggests to me she was fleeing an abusive relationship. Women in abusive relationships are especially vulnerable when pregnant, in the first year after, or when attempting to leave. Joining the military was probably the closest thing to witness protection she could come up with.
If, as I suspect that was the case, it would make a compelling argument in court for granting shared custody -- which is what she was granted. That was probably less because the court thought Chad was a good person, and more because it would be extremely disruptive to a six year old suddenly not just have her mom in her life, but no dad.
It sounds like the custody arrangement was changed over time, so the court was probably monitoring the families closely, and Chad may have been worried that he would lose his remaining share of custody (which may have been in part due to his wife's actions), and so he killed Ashley, much as she likely feared he would all those years prior.

It was also stated in the news they split custody, so while she “lived with her mother” on paper, the child probably spent equal time with each parent.

That seems so true. True crime in Australia that I watch is unsatisfying in the end when they hardly get any time. The whole reason I watch this stuff is to see the bad guy get what he deserves. However; I would to see Mike cover more Aussie stories. It’s just our media loves to plaster everything out there for views. So it’s super easy to research cases online or even watch the whole trial. They make it seem like we can’t walk out our doors in America without getting shot, raped, murdered, and tossed in the woods. 🙄 But I agree…she’s super weird! Not in touch with reality at all.
